LeBron James ‏@KingJames

While watching the Draft my son Bryce ask "Is Ray Allen gonna play for the Heat". I said "I don't know, I hope so".

I would start crying if Ray Allen joined the Heat. He'd average like 15 points a game on that squad, and he'd probably shoot like 50% from three.

He'll shatter the 3 point % record. As well as 3's made in a season probably. Either that or defenders will have to stay on him opening up the floor even more for the big 3. Huge signing if it happens.

Ray Allen should forget about what people are saying and just join Miami. He'd have fun and get to shot as much 3's as he likes without having to run around like a mad man to get open.

I would lose all respect if Ray joins the Heat. You already got 1 ring. Why are you just "betraying" the Celtics just for ring chasing?

If Ray does join, then that's a huge boost for the Heat. Look for him to shoot nearly 50% from 3. Miami repeats with or without Ray. They won't 3peat but they will repeat.

I don't get why people think this would be so huge. They don't really need another backup perimeter player, and it's not like hes an all star anymore anyway. They need a PG or bigs.

But now, they're acting like he's Ray Allen of 2004

Since when is it a bad thing to want to surround yourself with superior talent? Ray Allen is no superstar at this stage but he's a damn good role player and a terrific shooter who could live off of James' and Wade's double teams. If it can make their team better, then why shouldn't he want it?

That's was the double standard they were using to try and diminish Kobe's career. But since Lebron won a title now everything's suddenly changed. Then, with a straight face, they'll have the nerve to try and say, he did it all by himself.

As much as I love Celtics, I really think Allen has gotten too much shitfaced on from fans and media. He really did a lot in those 5 years for us and in case he actually signs with Miami I hope he does not get booed in TD Garden. With LeBron penetrating he would probably really average 50%+ from down town :)

How is he betraying the Celtics. I'm a Celtics fan and even I know Ray isn't happy with the organization. You are trying to say he's betraying the Celtics by going to the Heat when they are the ones that nearly traded him mid season!? It was the Grizzlies that backed out too...not the Celtics. He was pissed off too by all accounts before he found out the deal fell through. The Celtics can't pay him what he's worth and they showed NO LOYALTY TO HIM and I say this AS A CELTICS FAN. He has no reason to have any kind of loyalty to the Celtics. No player that's going to come into their next season at 37 is going to sign with a non contender. It's not as if ray is useless like Gary Payton was on the 2006 Heat either...he can still ball...but the clock is ticking and he has every right to join a contender and go out on top if he feels like it.

As a Celtics fan I'm glad we had Ray Allen for the five years we did. He was honestly the real FMVP and came up big in so many situations. I don't know why fans can't just be happy with what they got from a player and go on these little piss fits about loyalty. Ray Allen at this point in his career deserves to go play where he pleases and shouldn't have to hear bullshit about it. The Celtics rarely even used him at this full capacity anyway this past season. The screens they "tried" to set for him to get a good look were mostly atrocious eve before he had issues with the bone spurs in in his ankles.

Not sure how I would feel about Ray to the Heat. No doubt he would look good in the MIA black and red and also get tons of open looks though.

But from the perspective of everyone other than Heat/Lebron fans, you would think Ray would hesitate to join his team's biggest rival in the EC. His interest was reported so early that it doesn't even seem like he thought about it much, he just wants to tag along for another ring. :confusedshrug: I feel like in a way he's better than that, but if that's the way he wants to go out it's ultimately his choice. The "traitor" tag is virtually guaranteed though, seeing as he'd be teaming with the enemy as far as Celtics fans go.

Ray suggested he come off the bench before Doc asked it to Ray. Get your facts straight.

What's it matter if he does? I thought it was going to be pure hell if they won a title, and it wasn't. In fact, most Americans survived the ordeal and most went on with their lives.

This Heat team wants something that's just not attainable; they want elite status and to be discussed amongst some of the great teams of all time. It just won't happen. There's been too much in the building process, too many arrogant comments, too much one-sided officiating, and a little too much of everything else for this group in Miami to equal Showtime or any other dynasty worthy of discussing.

Add Ray Allen. It will be great for Miami, but nobody else really gives a --it.

Battier joined this group and ended up being known for running over in front of people and standing there. Allen will do something similar if he crosses over to the dark side.

This isn't my thought - it's the world's. Just wait. Spurs, Celts, Lakers, Bulls - all had "runs" which were built in different manners. Although the average fan eventually despises a dynasty, the "respect" factor still exists for these franchises and their various dynasties. It just won't be there for the Heat. I do despise the franchise (mainly because of the crappiest fan base in the league who don't deserve this talent), but that has nothing to do with my thoughts here. This team was built differently than any other team in league history. It was so different that it created a cross generational, cross gender, cross whatever hatred that will be too much to overcome. Write whatever the hell you want on here about me, but you only do that because you know it's the truth. LBJ will be rememberd; he's amazing. This Heat team will only be remembered because of the way they were constructed - period. People hate teams but still say, "they are damn good." Won't happen here. The national hate is too strong.

Paul Pierce was great? He shot 43% in that series averaging his 22ppg. He only averaged more points than Ray because he shot more. Ray averaged 20.3ppg shooting .506%. I see no problem giving the FMVP to Garnett because he was such a defensive monster, but Pierce had no business receiving the FMVP over Allen.

IMO, it's quite pathetic to see player the stature of Nash and Ray Allen pandering to the Heat to become nothing more than glorified role players. Nash won't be able to run the point like he's been doing for all these years when Wade and Lebron are both ball dominant. Ray will more than likely come off the bench for points. Neither will be a starter, so a ring is that important to throw away your entire legacy over? Of course nothing is set in stone yet, but I never thought I'd see the day when Nash became a ring chaser.:facepalm

Of course nothing is set in stone yet, but I never thought I'd see the day when Nash became a ring chaser.:facepalm

Ray Allen is going to be 37 years old...what legacy is he throwing away you cry baby laker bitch? The guy has established his career has an all time great, an a guaranteed hall of famer. At this point in his career where he has 3 years tops why shouldn't he go to a contender? You talking about, neither will be a starter...yeah Ray Allen isn't going to be 27 coming into next season he'll be 37...so yeah maybe he won't be a starter, but he's in better shape than 95% of the league and still has at least 2 years left in him, so at at this point why shouldn't he go to a contender and go out as a winner?

Why am I even responding to lakersreign anyway, you are one of the biggest, stupidest, idiotic fanboys around. Just shut your little toddler mouth. Stick to sucking Kobes dick.

That's was the double standard they were using to try and diminish Kobe's career. But since Lebron won a title now everything's suddenly changed. Then, with a straight face, they'll have the nerve to try and say, he did it all by himself.

I'm a Heat fan and don't want Ray Allen on our team.

It wouldn't gain us much other than a bunch of hater ammunition for your sorry a**.

Seriously, you've gotta be the most pathetic poster on this forum. You're ALWAYS talking about King James.

"cross generational, cross GENDER, cross WHATEVER?"

Are you a moron? I would go with a resounding yes.

I'm not mad at all. In fact, I assume i'm just grateful that i'm not a pathetic hater like yourself.

This forum is your whole life. Hating on Lebron and the Heat is your biggest and most cherished hobby.

What's sad is you sitting MAKING UP a life for somebody you don't know. Convincing yourself that it's true, then trying to get me to agree with you. Oh and what's even sadder is your pathetic anime wannabe comeback, which has never worked.

Oh, and by the way, Nash and Ray Allen will STILL be glorified role playing ring chasers if they join the Heat:facepalm

In other words, you're a bandwagoner aka biggest scum in sports.

:facepalm

That's not what band wagon means.

A band wagon fan is someone who starts liking a team because they are winning. It would be like having a bunch of Mavericks fans popping up out of nowhere because they won last year. If you liked LeBron before, and continue to like him when he goes to a new team, that isn't a "band wagoner."

That's the textbook definition of what a bandwagner is. Which means ALL these "new" Heat fans, who were Cavs fans 2 years ago, are in fact bandwagoners. That not only makes them Lebron fans, but also bandwagon Lebron fans as well.

Did you even read what I wrote?

A bandwagon fan is someone who starts liking a team, AFTER they are winning. It would be all those people who suddenly liked the Mavericks after their Championship last year. Or all of the people who suddenly liked the Clippers after they had a good run this past year.

Being a fan of LeBron and continuing to be a fan of LeBron because he goes to another team is not a bandwagon fan. Dammit...Do you get this shit man!?

Right:rolleyes:

Bandwagon teams don't have to win. If they sign a popular enough player, people will bandwagon that team. The Clippers and Knicks had bandwagon fans this year cuz of Chris Paul and Jeremy Lin, and they didn't win anything.

So...pretending to be a "real" Cavs fan 2 years ago. Then SUDDENLY becoming a "real" Heat fan 2 years later, all cuz Lebron left Cleveland for Miami, DOES NOT make you a bandwagon Lebron/Cavs/Heat fan?:wtf:

Are u stupid if it wasn't Paul Pierce that won MVP it should have been KG, Paul Pierce was great averaging 22/6/5, and KG with his elite fvukin defense he also averaged 18/13/3/1,7/1.

dude k.g wasnt even talked about in the finals mvp race... after game 4 all the talk was about ray or pierce winning it and ray had the slight edge until pierce went crazy in game 5 with 38 points... k.g had some atrocious shooting nights and was really inconsistent on the offensive end in the finals...ray was the most consistent of the 3 in the finals was steady and played great D on kobe along with pierce
