View Full Version : Brandon Roy Narrows Team List To 5-Teams

Brandon Roy has narrowed his free-agent list to the Pacers, T-Wolves, Bulls, Mavericks & Warriors, confirmed thru multiple sources.

It would seem ideal for him to go to a championship-contender. From that list, Bulls seem most ready to win one once D Rose is back.

Not sure if I want Brandon Roy to play backup behind Kobe. You guys need to get Josh Smith and Andre Iguodola haha

Out of those teams I'd like to see him in Indiana. He'd be a useful piece and I don't see them falling behind too much if injury continues to keep him off the court. If he can keep himself somewhat healthy it would be a big bonus for them.

Not white enough to play for the Wolves though.

A guy that can create his own shot and opportunities for other will given Kobe some rest. Why not?

I'd like to see him go to the Pacers and help them close some games out. Let hm play 15-20 minutes a game. Let him rest on the second of back to backs.

Granger simply doesn't have the skill to close out games consistently. If the game is on the line Brandon Roy is going to get you buckets. He'd be a great addition for the Pacers in the playoffs.

Our bench is horrible but we have a good future with are starting lineup. After we get rid of Charlie V's contract next year then we should try to get a SG that's not undersized.

But we've got David Kahn in the discussion here. Who the hell know what Roy'll get offered.

So what happened? He retired cause he was missing knee cartilage, then the blazers amnestied him. Now he all of a sudden can play again but only for a different team? Was it just a ploy to leave the blazers?

Why the *** aren't they more active in this offseason. We don't need a huge blockbuster Trade just upgrade the bench with shooters and athleticism and we should be fine.

This. Often it looks like the Lakers are a little all-or-nothing. They either want stars or scrubs.

I think he could work well in Golden State as a shot creator off the bench - the only reason I would be hesitant as the Warriors FO is that he is going to miss games - I say that as I sit here after 40 minutes of basketball with floating meniscus in my knee, it moves around it makes SITTING uncomfortable. Curry, Bogut and Roy - that's asking for trouble.

With that said, I would hope he winds up in Indiana. He'd be a great 6th man there.

He's not going to make it through the whole season. He is bone on bone. If you can put him on ice til late in the season, then integrate him as strictly a catch and shoot jumpshooter in the corner maybe, but even that's optimistic because he has to run back and forth. Did you all not see how bad he looked just trying to move the last time he played? Plus for his own future, I'd like to see him stay retired. Being able to play with your kids and future grandkids is more important than playing one more season and not even being guaranteed at a title

From what I remember, Portland also amnestied Roy. With Darius I think he played enough games after his medical retirement to count on the cap which screwed Portland over.

Who knows. That'll be up to the trainers of the team he signs up with. We have no idea what condition his knee is in so giving any number is just pure speculation based on nothing. He had the same surgery as Kobe did so that's a positive.

He'll have no problem playing right now....will be able to go out hard for 40 mins if he wanted too. He's VERY well rested. The problem for him his later down the line when his knees are worn out from the season where problems can come in.

AND +1 for Bulls being on the list.
