So how will this work? There will be matchups now based on 1 vs. 16, 2 vs. 15, etc. Each matchup will be a Best out of 7 series
I will make a thread with 2 1st round matcups. And in those threads is where I'll post the simulation results. After they are simulated, the next 2 begin. And so on.
During a simulation of a matchup, you have possible input on adjusting a team's rotation depending on the team they are matchup up with, and saying how you think your team would attack this team and which players will get more/less minutes. This can be done in the individual threads.

00s Spurs vs. 00s Celtics would be my best guess. Lakers had best teams of the decade but 2007 Parker, 2005 Ginobli, 2003 Duncan, and Robinson at the turn of the decade is outrageous.

Spurs v. Pistons in the Finals, imo.
They have the two most balanced starting lineup+depth, including legit stars who can carry them.
Kind of like the Nets and Pacers as well to make some noise.

Sorry for being gone for a little bit, but im gonna start the 1st 2 matchups in this thread. AFter that the rest of the matchups will have their own threads.
Why the 1st 2 matchups here?
Well its 00s Pistons vs. 01/02 Hornets and 00s Lakers vs. 09 Thunder
So Hornets and Thunder are not using their decade teams so thought it would be stupid to start a thread with them. I had to pick them to have 16 teams in each conference so its more tournament style.

Preview: The Pistons have obviously one of the best teams in the decade. They are going with their championship 5 as their starting roster, we all know this squad is great on defense. But they have added a prime Hill who also will play a big part of this team. Stackhouse gives them more firepower off the bench.
But the Hornets are underrated. They should at least have been a 15th or 14 the seed even in just 3 years. They have a prime Baron/Eddie J/Mashburn, along with some solid bigs like Campbell, PJ Brown, Anthony Mason, and Derrick Coleman. Overall, a good defensive team with tons of firepower.
Billups vs. Baron Davis should be a good matchup all series, and also the Hornet bigs think they can overpower the Pistons bigs. The Pistons will have to do their best to contain Davis/Jones/Mashburn, while still keeping the Hornet's big men in check. Could be a tougher than expected series.

00s Pistons Win Series 4-1
Overall, the Pistons defense did a great job on the Hornets. And the balanced attack on offense also worked well for the Pistons with numerous players having good games. The Pistons controlled the glass led by Ben Wallace and showed everyone that they are a worthy #1 seed advancing to the 2nd round.

Hey they did have a ton of talent if you look at that roster. Baron Davis, Eddie Jones, Jamal Mashburn, all these guys were 20+ppg scorers. And then a lot of good bigs who could defend too.

Preview: The most successful team of the decade get a chance to show their power. Kobe/Gasol/O'Neal all in their primes will headline this team. Question is how will they co-exist and how will the rest of the team perform.
The OKC Thunder had just been created in 09 so they aren't too good. They do have Durant, who had a good season that year dropping 25/7. Jeff Green and rookie Westbrook were also solid. Their goal should just be to get a win lol.
Lakers should sweep. Just too talented. But can they stop Durant? Prime Kobe and Ariza will be there to bother him.. The only advantage Thunder have though is better team chemistry, will that be enough to prevent sweep?

http://imageshack.us/a/img193/5239/chrispaulnoway.png I'm confused as hell. I said the Sonics are the upset pick. Are the Sonics and Thunder the same team in this tourney?
No. There is a Sonics team (as you can see in the 1st post and the matchups post). There is also a Thunder team. The 00s Sonics includes the Thunder team as well, so they really are the entire 10 year decade team.
I just had to throw in a extra team for the 16th seed (since there are only 15 teams in the west), so I just tossed in 09 Thunder
00s Sonics face 00s Kings 1st round. What i meant earlier was Lakers are probably not gonna get upset by OKC Thunder (not sonics). lol i can see why u got confused

Game 1:
at Lakers 105, Thunder 77
Box Score: http://whatifsports.com/NBA/boxscore.asp?GameID=6338146&nomenu=1&teamfee=-1
Player of the Game: P.Gasol 21pts/10reb/4ast on 9/15 FG
Lakers defense was the surprise Game 1 holding the Thunder to 77 points.
Game 2:
at Lakers 125, Thunder 118
Box Score: http://whatifsports.com/NBA/boxscore.asp?GameID=6338151&nomenu=1&teamfee=-1
Player of the Game: Shaq 28points/15reb/5ast/5bkl
Give the Thunder props for fighting till the very end here. They led after each quarter, but in the 4th the Lakers just finally stepped up their game and won it. The Thunder Big 3 had big games, Durant 34, Westbrook 25, and Green 23. But it was short as the Lakers though lazy on defense, got it done on the other side led by Shaq.

Box Score: http://whatifsports.com/NBA/boxscore.asp?GameID=6338158&nomenu=1&teamfee=-1
Player of the Game: Shaq 32pts/14reb
Thunder battle till the end again. Lakers had command most game, but Thunder made them work for it. O'Neal though dominated again leading the way. Kobe had an off 6/20 shooting night with foul trouble, but LA was able to hold on in OKC.
Game 4:
Lakers 123, at Thunder 95
Box Score: http://whatifsports.com/NBA/boxscore.asp?GameID=6338166&nomenu=1&teamfee=-1
Player of the Game: Shaq 30points/6reb/5ast
The Lakers play on both sides this game and dominate the Thunder. O'Neal continues his dominant play against the weak Thunder front court.
00s Lakers Win 4-0
Though they had some close games and blowouts, the series was what we expected. Sweep.

Why is a Prime Grant Hill coming off the bench for Tayshaun Prince? Wouldn't it hurt the Pistons chances to put their best player on the bench, he was a 25 PPG, Triple Double threat that was a better defender than Tayshaun in 2000. Just wondering.
