OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Central Florida basketball player Marcus Jordan, the son of former NBA great Michael Jordan, was arrested in Omaha early Sunday following a disturbance outside a downtown hotel.
According to a news release, police responding to a call at the Embassy Suites found hotel security trying to subdue Marcus Jordan, who was having an argument with two women in the hotel driveway at 2:11 a.m.
The release said Jordan was ''very animated, intoxicated and uncooperative,'' and it took multiple officers to control and handcuff him.
Jordan was booked at the Douglas County Department of Corrections for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing. He had been released by Sunday night.
Jordan, a rising senior, averaged 13.7 points for UCF last season.

Didn't take long for the obligatory "like father, like son" comment. So clever, so original, and above all accurate and pertinent to the story. Jordan's son is college aged and did a stupid thing. He's approximately the ten billionth college kid to do something idiotic. Jordan, while always known to be a gambler, has never been known to be an alcoholic. Jordan's performance as a father is hardly reflective of his son's actions in this instance. This incident is solely emblematic of a college kid with too much money and a lot of growing up to do.

However, most likely the case will be resolved with him doing like 5-10 hours of community service and making a $1000 donation to some area foundation.
