You are drafting them in their 00-01 season, so that's how they will produce in their first season, however as next season starts, they're going to be producing more similarly to how they did in 01-02. Remember to draft with that in mind, if a player was out a full season with injuries in the third year of his career, the same thing will probably have to happen in this league. Remember to draft with a FULL CAREER in mind, not just a season or two.

Here are the teams an GM's we have:
Baltimore Bullets (KobesFinger)
Cleveland Cavaliers (Myself)
Miami Heat (Lebron23)
Orlando Magic (WillyJakk)
Philadelphia 76ers (Timmy D for MVP)
Portland Trailblazers (Toizumi)
San Diego Kings (IGotACoolStory)
San Francisco Warriors (MisterAmazing)
Seattle Supersonics (iamgine)
Toronto Raptors (Twiens)
Vancouver Grizzlies (Maniak)

KobesFinger, MisterAmazing, you guys are on sort of a no-tolerance policy being that you're new and low post counts and such. If you're slowing down the draft too much, I'll boot you guys at any time.

The draft will be a snake draft. The order was randomized using random.org. I gave myself last pick of the first round automatically since I am the commish and don't want any unfair advantages to start. Here is the draft order:

1 - Philadelphia 76ers
2 - San Diego Kings
3 - Seattle Supersonics
4 - Orlando Magic
5 - Miami Heat
6 - Vancouver Grizzlies
7 - Toronto Raptors
8 - Baltimore Bullets
9 - Portland Trailblazers
10 - San Francisco Warriors
11 - Cleveland Cavaliers

No time limit for first round, we'll implement one once everyone is aware. Let's get this going gentlemen!

Took the rosters of the original 16 teams I had planned on moving over to our league. Charlotte, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Golden State, Indiana, Clippers, Sacramento, Milwaukee, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver.

Missing some of the big names from that time like Kobe/Shaq/Duncan/Garnett but there's a nice amount of talent to build from and there's going to be some superstars in the upcoming draft(s).

Sorry Boston, We already started the draft and everything. If you stay active and check back here every once in a while, I could get you in once this first season is done.

Nice Pick Lebron23, I really wanted Wallace to slip to me so I could pair him with a scoring guard or forward. Still a good amount of All-Stars left out there.

I wish there was a search function on WIF that let you search for more than just 3 teams.

Also, this player pool is terrible.

I take Jermaine O'Neal. While 00-01 isn't his best campaign, he becomes one of the best bigs available in the coming seasons.

I think it was very pivotal for me to get a big in the first round. With a shallow talent pool and the best guard available (in my eyes that's Tracy McGrady) taken, a big is important.

While this season JO is only around 12/10/3/70def, he becomes much better in the coming seasons.

I've never done a seasonal WIF draft like this so I'm not sure how to equate defensive ratings into my selections. There are very few players with high defensive ratings.

That's true, defensive ratings seem to differentiate between players from year-to-year. I thought it would make a bit more of a different draft experience without a couple of the big names.

It's def. different.

I'm still kind of annoyed I wasn't active enough on insidehoops when there would be a draft like this at the end of every regular season. Those always looked to be very enjoyable.

I actually enjoy this player pool because it forces you to really think about the type of team you want to build. You can't just throw a bunch of talent together, you have to put guys together who will work.

WIF doesn't really mimic real life. Since it's a computer simulation it can't take into account personalities. But they do the best job I've seen with their numbers. So it's fun to try to put together teams on that site. (Maybe the only thing more fun is doing it in 2K since they have their tendency ratings too).

With this pool we will have teams that will feature: 1 superstar if you had a high pick, then a couple good players, then role players. OR a few good players and some role players if you had a lower pick. Just like how it is. It's fun.

He was supposed to be in the pool. He played for the Raptors in 00-01. Might have got deleted by accident at some point because I remember Twiens sent me a list with his name on it.

Boston C's, I only took players from Charlotte, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Golden State, Indiana, Clippers, Sacramento, Milwaukee, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver. 16 teams to emulate an expansion league.

I'll make another pick here though and just throw Vince in next year's draft or something because he was a main guy I wanted in this league.

Agreed.

I had to go with Abdur-Rahim since T-Mac was taken cause of the lack of quality bigs and I was banking on Stackhouse flying under the radar.

The teams the pool of players were taken from was meh and :coleman: @ the omission of 2001 Raptors Vincent Carter being left off list since his fellow teammates are on here.

Anyway looking forward to seeing how the games go and I wonder if we can do trades.

Yeah, I was looking at Stackhouse @29.8 ppg vs the lack of bigs and knew for a fact the higher quality bigs would be gone so Shareef turned into a no brainer cause honestly the wing depth is pretty good.

I figured I could make up for scoring by getting Spree & Big Dog.

Usually if someone's skipped in the last turn and hasn't make a pick when their next turn comes then they're automatically skipped again.
I'm too nice to skip people right away, lol. Plus with my pick so close, I didn't want anyone saying that I'm skipping him just to get to my pick or anything.

Go ahead whenever you're ready MisterAmazing.

Give me Vlade Divac.

PG Van Exel
SG Stackhouse
SF Mashburn
PF Divac
C Mutombo

I know Divac is a center but he's the best big available IMO and we could use his rebounding

What I could do, since the talent is pretty much equal for the bench with a couple exceptions is after this 6th round, I could simply randomize the benches for each team on random.org.

I would make sure each team has at least 2 guards, 2 forwards & a Center off the bench.

Or we could stick with how we were doing it before, which is kind of a free for all system for each round, to give you guys more control. Just a suggestion on speeding things up, so we can get some actual simming done. Let me know what you guys think.

Brent Barry
00-01 stats: 9/3/3 .476% 3P

This man shoots the ball, very quickly, and very well. He has supreme ability, some see a bit of his father in him. Whether or not he reaches this potential we love to have him. At worst he'll be a great role player.

Desmond Mason

This youngster is really a tantalizing prospect. We may need to wait a bit to develop him a bit but when his time comes he will be able to fill it up coming off the bench.

Sorry CoolStory and Timmy D. We are only doing 6 rounds of the actual draft, and I don't wanna give you guys any unfair advantages over anyone else.

You guys gotta pick one player of your last two picks to keep each.

Well I would prefer to pick my own team at this stage in the draft because it's not same level players left... Some of the guys are in their last season or played 13 games and averaged 2.1 ppg over the next 3 years. And there are a lot of those types of players in this pool. There are a shockingly bad amount of players to choose from. If there weren't such terrible scrubs mixed with legit role players left, then sure. But right now there are actual good players left on the board. Some teams will get completly screwed over.

If that part of the draft which takes forever would just pay attention... Imo, start by replacing the guy who has been skipped like 3 times already.

However, which ever way majority rules I suppose. I would like one more round (so the remaining nine or ten picks this round), at least. There are still multi-seasons double-digit scorers left.
