Rashard Lewis would be a great pickup for the Heat. He's a knock down 3pt shooter and has clutch playoff experience. Just ask Lebron.

Pat Riley's Plan Z of the offseason.

Heat should take a flier though if James Jones doesn't return. Am I right on that? James Jones part I meant

Not at all. Rashard is a 6'10 sniper. Would give Miami a tall spacer/shooter.

If he can return to form I guess. Last couple of years he's been far from a sniper. Shot like 24% from three last year I think.

When a team like Washington won't even play you, you're done. Miami either needs to get good character vets or young prospects. Lewis is neither.

Camby would be good for them, but not on a 3 year deal. T-Mac is done. He just doesn't have the skill set to be a role player.

T-Mac did okay for the hawks in limited duty. Besides he can take Juwan's role if nothing else.

TMac to the Heat would be amazing. The Heat will go in as the biggest favorites to win a championship since when? The Shaq-Kobe Lakers probably. However, McGrady's teams don't advance past the first round.

Kind of a immovable object meets the unstoppable force situation.

If all he's going to do is eat up a roster spot, it doesn't matter. If they're planning on playing him? I don't like that.

McGrady has been trying to get on the Heat since the Big 3 was formed. Heat aren't interested because they don't want someone that is going to be injured after every other game nor do they want to deal with his horrendous attitude.

I hope Lewis doesn't go to Miami but I don't know where a realistic location for him would be though.

You don't think he can hit wide open threes at a 38-40 % clip with James, Wade, Bosh, drawing defensive attention? I beg to differ

Not for the min.

What do they have? 3 rosters spots? I'd have to think they could get 3 guys better than Lewis to sign.

They'll get someone for the mini mid level, probably take a flier on Oden (I'm surprised we haven't heard more on him) and then maybe a guy like Lewis I guess.

Makes you wonder what guys like Grant Hill, Barbosa and Jamison will get.

Got to think they get either Allen, Camby or Terry..Howard, Turiaf are both spots which are open. Lewis won't be a terrible signing for spot mins every now and then.

I wouldn't be any worse than the flier they took with Eddy Curry. I just really think Lewis is done though. His numbers over the last 3 years have been atrocious. He probably wouldn't warrant playing time over Terrel Harris.

Any good shooter will get alot of good looks on this Miami team. He could have a good year in Miami for when he plays of course. At this moment though you know Lewis is not important to get just yet from Miami's point of view..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Riley sign some undrafted guy first. The Heat always look for those types.

I'd rather pursue Ray Allen harder than settle for Lewis, but if all else fails, he isn't that bad of a fit. He'll definitely make an impact as he'll stretch the floor for Bron and Wade to drive.

he could replace James Jones spot.

jaydacris
07-03-2012, 01:47 AM
despite that ridiculous contract he had. he's a versatile player, and still one of the better 3 point shooters in the league. and can be a good mismatch for the opposing team (although also can work against him)

and from what i hear he's a good locker room presence and very professional
although thats just from one source haha (jj reddick)

he jus gotta stay off of them performance enhancing drugs ;)

I disagree. Just give the minutes to James Jones. Lewis would have the same type of role Jones would have, but maybe some more minutes because of his name on the roster.

At this point in his career he's not the shooter he once was. The last 4 years his 3 point percentage has went down which was down to 24% last year.

Orlando was stupid to sign him for that amount of money. If you look at his statistics since he started with Orlando his minutes dropped each year, field goal percentage, points, rebounds, everything. He's just a wasted roster space right now. He couldn't stick out with the knuckle head Wizards last year.
