- Paranoid Park. Gus Van Sant movie, pretty great. One of my personal favorites.
- Rocket Science. Recently watched it. Really liked it.
- Detachment. Directed by that dude who did American History X, Tony Kaye. Adrien Brody is pretty good in it. Has that chick from Mad Men.
- SLC Punk. Personal favorite
- Garden State. Amazing movie.
Not sure if some of these are highly known or not. Just a few I never really see mentioned much.

After Hours.
Directing by Scorsese, but never brought up or talked about. Roger Ebert had it ranked #2 on his top movies of 1985.

The Last Dragon (arguably the pinnacle of film making)
Quick Change (Great, criminally underrated... hell, never even seen anyone rate it... Bill Murray, Geena Davis, Randy Quaid as bank robbers trying to escape NYC in one piece after a succesful score)
Candyman (one of the most original plots/storylines for a horror flick, plus Tony Todd's the man)
City Island (Great quirky fun)

Not really unpopular, but alot of people have never seen Mean Streets. Probably my favorite movie of the 70's.

That movie's the shit. One of the recent wave of foreign flicks that have been superior to most Hollywood 80s regurgitations (along with Pan's Labyrinth, Un Prophete, The Secret in their Eyes, and a few others).

Jacob's Ladder. I thought Shawshank Redemption was the best Tim Robbins movie until I saw this one. Really underrated IMO.
