Lakers must get Howard now.
After this season, he can either re-sign with LA or chase the dream of pairing up with CP3 in Atlanta. Nets don't have cap space or assets as good as LA has and Dwight can either sign with Atlanta, Dallas or another rebuilding team. I'll take my chances, he'll make more money off endorsements in LA then off his contract anyways.

Good for Deron, he's a loyal guy and I've always liked him for that.

I didn't say he would sign an extension to remain with the Lakers. The point is that Bynum will sign an extension for the max and the only team that can give him that is the Lakers since they hold his bird rights. He ain't stupid enough to become a free agent and leave all that money on the table.

Sloan wouldn't have been fired but Williams definitely drove him to quit. However, being traded was purely a result of being unwilling to sign an extension and Utah not wanting any possibility of a drama filled season of questions about his future.

Class is only relative in this case. Compared to the most recent superstar movement/signings/etc, this was the classiest.

Don't get greedy. You guys just got JJ, re-signed Wallace and got Evans and possibly Ilya.

Plus you got Brooks off the bench who can become a real stud in the future. If Lopez comes back strong and plays like he did before the injury, this team is a serious contender.

Brooks, Green, Kidd, Humphries, Evans

When you play in the NBA and become a superstar faced with a difficult decision in going back home or playing with a new team you let us know if it takes you that quick to make a decision. Dwill handled this so professionally that's it's noteworthy to respect his approach. Yet you decide to take it away from him stating tht he should only be applauded if he signed after the season. He had a lot to think about and he didn't flip flop like Howard publicly. He never released statements telling the lakers to not waste their time like Howard is doing.

His free agency approach is a lesson for all future superstars.

then just can't to willy nilly signing everyone they darn well please. There are limits the NBA places on them.

It don't matter if the russian wants to pay 200 million a year on salaries alone, he simply can't due to the NBA guidelines.

I read since they signed the Euro to a 3 year 15 million deal, they have to adhere to a hard cap of 74 million this coming year.

"Afford" and "allowed" are two completely different words with different meanings.

I've been posting on this forum for a long time. All the way back to the old board. I don't assume people know what they're talking about. I take what they type as what they mean. If he meant that they aren't allowed up under league rules, he ****ed up his delivery.

"Afford" isn't close to "allowed".....and there are lot of dumb people here. I don't assume. :confusedshrug:

Plus, he's not even technically right. There is a way, or we wouldn't be hearing about Dwight Howard to the Nets trade rumors.
this, we may make fun of the media but they aren't that stupid .
if there was no way under league rules for the Nets to get Howard, everyone will mention it and it will be over

link?
Never mind I think it won't happen anymore but the rumor was that they were going to sign and trade Humphries for Ilyasova. But now that they have Evans and Teletovic it probably won't happen. Here is the link anyways:

Deron just gained respect from me for sticking with his team and not crying his way out of his old team. Classy player.
The irony of this statement is too much for my brain to even process.

Just to state, I will never call them the Brooklyn Nets. They're the Nets and that's all. They will forever be a NJ team in my head.
Try to avoid looking at the big B. :lol B for....Beyonce? Blueprint? Billy King?

You're aware that they were originally a New York NBA team, right? :confusedshrug:

Horford + Teague and a 1st for Dwight.

MUCH better than shitty Bynum.

Horford is almost as good as Bynum and Magic need a PG.

:lol

homer post of the year candidate.

Good for Deron for going through the free agency process without making a complete spectacle out of it.

Resign to play with a stats padding semi all star that can barely get out of the FIRST round of the playoffs. Deron's never been a winner either. Enjoy your first/second round exit.

If Dwight goes there, he better be ready to take the MLE.

Oh wait, MLE already taken.

NETS CANT GET DWIGHT.

GO HAWKS!

Have fun getting knocked out of the first round...again.

Nets > Hawks. Deal with it.

What the hell does Deron want in Brooklyn. I don't get it, he's never going to win a title with this team. With the Mavs he would've had an immediate 2-3 year window while he's in his prime and he could've been "the man" of the team while Dirk would slowly take a backseat. With Brooklyn there gonna be lots of 1st-round-exits. Don't get it.
