I don't think it's a good sign when your back court has more years of NBA experience combined (30) than most of the guys they'll be guarding have years of life experience.

Seriously is this an NBA team or the new lineup of 60 minutes correspondents???

Lakers are in win now mode while Kobe can still get it done. It doesn't matter if Nash only has a few years left because Kobe only has a few years left to be Kobe.

Yes, I'm pretty sure I want the best SG and a top 3 PG on my team's backcourt.

oh the horror

Guess which team recently won a championship in 2011 with a 38 year old starting PG, 33 year old SG, 33 year old SF, and 32 year old PF.

Yea, I want this. Of course I would have loved D-Will, but that was never gonna happen without giving up something very valuable. In this current CBA climate that has handcuffed the Lakers considerably, this is a good deal. It's not perfect, but it's a massive upgrade offensively that can get all the Lakers touches on the ball, and a guy that can create for himself as well.

I have to respect Nash for wanting PHX to get something in return (as well as staying fairly close to his fam in PHX) rather than just walking for the $$$$ as a free agent.

I'm not gunna lie, i wanted Pau Gasol traded to houston for kyle lowry plus pieces, b/c he's young, and a great defender, and can give you assists. But this can work too

what do they have to lose? also, people counted out boston last year and they took miami to 7 (very well could have won with a healthy bradley and green)

No. As a Laker fan, I have gotten used to mediocre point guard play. I have become accustomed to Derek Fisher and/or Steve Blake disappearing for weeks on end. I don't think I really want an assists leader, two-time M.V.P. as my team's point guard.

We gave up just 2 late first rounders and 2 2nd rounders to get a top 5 pg and an elite shooter/playmaker. Both of which we sorely have lacked. We have a few years left where we can contend with our core and Nash only has a few years left as well. We are going to be contending the next 2-3 years and then our core players come off the books. Kobe Pau and Nash all expire in the next 3 years and we'll see what happens with Bynum whether we extend him after this year or he is traded for Howard.

But this can work tooThats the thing we got a player who currently is better then Lowry without having to give up Gasol. If the Front Office wants to they can still trade Gasol to fill in the SF and bench roles.

When did Nash become a top 3 PG?

I've always been a huge fan of Nash, and he's certainly a huge improvement over any other guard the Lakers had not named Kobe, but don't delude yourself.

Anybody on the Lakers is top 3.

well, he's not the player we thought he could be for us, especially with the injury problem. but we really were hoping that he could give us about 25-30 of valuable minutes at the point guard position as well as some leadership with any other players we choose to bring in.
