That'd be a huge dissapointment for LA. Jeremy Lin puts up better numbers.

Nash with 7 APG? Did he die?? :biggums:

That's very close to what Nash has averaged since 2005.

12/12/3 on 50/40/90 If he was able to average 10.7 assists with the suns team last year he can get 12 with Kobe-Gasol-Bynum

I just can't really see the lakers having a good pg. My hopes are so low. I just mean if you think about it, look what nash can do with poop and gortat. That will be gasol. That wont be shannon brown in the corner thatll be kobe. I just dont know. It seems too good to be true to get the nash we just saw. The system and the players will limit him. Mike won't let him run. He'll haev the ball less with kobe.

Honestly, if Nash only put up 10/10, the Lakers should take it and run with it if he's making others better and shooting his normal percentages.

I think Nash's PPG will go down with more options (Kobe) on the team, but his assists will go up.
10 PPG and 13 APG.

Because he now plays aside with Kobe. That tell alot already, not Nash's fault

I'd say this is probably the most realistic prediction. I don't see Nash averaging more than 12 points a game, but I do think his assists will definitely go up.

He'll be 39 years old next season. Show me another 39 year old that put up similar numbers to his prime years? (Aside from Barry Bonds)

I agree with this on slightly higher shooting percentages. Especially on 3's and free throws.

10/15/3 on 50/40/90.. Kobe's one of the best off the ball player of all time and the best in the league, Nash will get plenty of assist dishing out to Kobe..

How is that a huge dissapointment? I would be thrilled with 13/10 on around 50/40/90. Have you seen what the Lakers have gotten out of their PG's in recent years? That's a huge upgrade and even tho it's only 13 points it's extremely efficient on 50% + shooting and Lakers have 3 other elite or near elite level scorers so it's not like he will put up 18ppg or something.

You should have said for the sake of self ownage.
Payton was retired at 39 and was putting 5,3 pts and 3 ast per game at 38
Kidd is 39 since March and is putting 6,2 pts and 5,5 ast this season
Garnett is 36
Malone was putting good number at 39 but was a big man. Very different case
So the guy basicaly said HOF names without even looking

Very much depends on Bryant. If Bryant is dominating the ball like he has for his whole career to date I'd go as far as saying Nash ends up as a 14/8 player (his points go up because he'll hit the open jumper off of Bryant's creation). But if Bryant is willing to convert to being an off-the-ball player and/or decoy for large portions of the game so that Nash can play the style that he's played since he became an All-Star it'll be more like 12 and 10.

Bumpity time. Let's check up so far. Having played 35 games, Nash is averaging about 12/7/3 on 51/43.5/90 playing about 33 minutes per game. I was way off.

the Lakers had been hit by injuries all season long. But this guy is pretty spot on
Nash's APG is down to 7 per game.
It seems ppl anticipated that with Kobe as a prolific scorer, Nash would be accumulating over13 APG.
Obviously, it hasn't been working that way. It was like when Carmelo and Amare would comeback and Jeremy Lin would rack up over 10 apg feeding those two last season.
Steve Nash as his usual role at PHX was one as head honcho who fed everyone. With the Lakers, it's about where Kobe wants the ball. This has caused his APG to go down. Just like Lin with the Rockets when they got Harden. With Lin though I didn't expect him to anywhere near double digits in assists.

simple problem
nash needs the ball for 10-15 seconds, the end result usually being a pass that leads to a good shot.
kobe needs the ball for 10-15 seconds, the end result usually being a terrible shot that somehow goes in.
there are only 24 seconds on the shot clock and these styles are very mutually exclusive. If you replaced Kobe with Reggie Miller, someone who spends 6-10 seconds working off ball to get himself an open 3, holy cow.
Or if you replaced Nash with someone who played good defense and was an athletic finisher, same.
One or both players have to either change their game or one or both players will not be fully utilized. In this case, Nash.

sigh, it was a tongue in cheek joke. Half true, half not. Nice try, but before you shoot, aim. Alot of posters on here could use that advice

Hopefully he can stay healthy. Excited to see what this Laker team can do with Nash running the point. Too bad Tony Parker or any future guards going to destroy this back court.
Anyone know a good website to buy Laker playoff tickets?

Just saw this post now :oldlol:
Kidd averaged 8/6/4 as a 39 year old. According to you that's similar to 14/7/10....
Payton didn't play until 39, but averaged 5/2/3 when 38, a far cry from 24/7/9.
Garnett isn't even 39 yet, he's 36.
Malone is the only one on that list close to fulfilling the criteria of being close to his prime years numbers wise, but even he was 21/8/5, which isn't similar to 31/11/3. Very good for a 39 year old, but not similar to prime numbers at all.
But yes, please go on lol...
