The only people that are going to deny that his teammates weren't that great are Kobe fans. He has always had the most stacked and dominant front-courts relative to the league. When Kobe did have scrub teammates from '05-'07, he was pretty demanding to be traded so I always find it funny when Kobe fans talk about how he is loyal and competitive when he really wanted to leave when his team sucked.

I give him credit for playing hard night in and night out despite not wanting to be there anymore though in '07.

Kobe = greatest coat-tail rider in the history of sports.

Give LeBron or Wade a Prime Shaq for 8 seasons and they win more than 3 rings. Shaq during those years in LA was the most dominant force I've ever seen (Surpassing MJ easily).

The Shaq that got traded to Miami was already breaking down with 2 injuries and a bad back (thats why he saw 10 minutes LESS per game in Miami than he did with LA).. ...and Wade still won a ring with a broken down Shaq, and would have had 2 rings if Wade didn't get injured in the 2005 ECF vs the Pistons when the Heat were leading that series 3 games to 2 (The same Pistons who destroyed Kobe and the Fakers in 5 games the year before)

The question - if you cut out the agenda in the OP - is actually a fascinating one. Who *has* played with the most all-star teammates over the course of their career? (For sake of argument, let's limit it to guys who were themselves all-stars at some point).

Here are Scottie Pippen's teammates who were at some point in their career all-stars (he played with 17 of them).

Charles Barkley (10-time all-star)
Bill Cartwright (all-star)
Antonio Davis (all-star)
Dale Davis (all-star)
Artis Gilmore (11-time all-star - 6 times in the ABA, 5 times in the NBA)
Horace Grant (all-star)
Michael Jordan (14-time all-star)
Shawn Kemp (6-time all-star)
Jermaine O'Neal (5-time all-star)
Charles Oakley (all-star)
Hakeem Olajuwon (12-time all-star)
Robert Parish (9 time all-star)
Zach Randolph (all-star)
Dennis Rodman (2 time all-star)
Detlef Schrempf (3-time all-star)
Steve Smith (all-star)
Rasheed Wallace (4-time all-star)

Charles Barkley played with 22 guys who made the all-star team at least once:

Danny Ainge
Cedric Ceballos
Tom Chambers
Maurice Cheeks
Clyde Drexler
Michael Finley
Steve Francis
World B. Free
AC Green
Hersey Hawkins

Interesting, though this method (literally, the largest number of talented teammates) disadvantages players who moved about a lot (if you actually use that to imply that they had the greatest supporting cast). If you were to use all-star appearances (and I think they're somewhat flakey) I'd count all-stars appearances whilst playing with the star.

He's almost always had All-Star caliber teammates though.

The injury slowed Bynum's development but by 2007-08 he was playing at a near All-Star level. From then on, the Lakers had 4 All-Star caliber players in Bryant, Gasol, Odom and Bynum, not to mention, later on, former All-Star Ron Artest who was consistently overlooked during All-Star voting, probably because of his reputation. I was actually shocked to see Artest was only voted into 1 All-Star game.

Kobe made an all-star game in '98 averaging 15 points on .428 shooting.

Sometimes guys just get voted into the All-Star game and other guys get overlooked in certain years.

But All-Star caliber years are as good as All-Star years, so long as the production (and efficiency) are there.

People that are bringing up Shaq are being misleading. Since he's played on so many teams, he's played with alot of different great players. Its not like he was playing with all those players at the same time. Shaq playing with KG for 1 year isn't the same as Kobe playing with Lamar Odom for 7 years. But when you just list names, you're implying that there wasn't a difference in the length of time they played with each other. On average, year-to-year they've played with about just as great talent.

True, but Shaq was a journey-man moving from established team to established team. In Kobe's case, the Lakers organization keeps bringing in the pieces minus Shaq seeing that they came in together.
