Would like to see this happen. Something tells me he'll at least give the Clips a listen though. Also what type of pitch will Riley give him? :lol I'm sure with the less classy players just bring them around Miami and show them some women and the clubs and they're good... Ray ray seems like he'd like to be shown where the gym is and some houses and schools :lol so classy

There are 8 assists coming directly from Lebron's hands every game. He just has to be on the receiving end of those and things will be just fine.

I rather see Miami sign Manny Harris. http://www.talkofdetroit.com/beta/images/entry_mid_579.jpg

35.9 FG% from the 3 points territory. Harris is very athletic, and a good defender. Cavaliers waived him a couple of days ago.

Well still feels like Allen could be Betraying Boston if he signs with Miai on a personal level but a business level makes a whole lot of sense as he wont have to work nearly as hard to get clean looks with the attention Lebron and Wade command. Also it is a lot easier pill to swallow backing up another HOF like Dwade than a young chap like Like Avery Bradley who hasn't done Sh!t in the league.

Well if Healthy and Not having to play Ridiculous minutes to stay fresh he could be deadly on miami. What do U get with Allen a Guy that will make defense pay and think twice for Doubling Lebron or Wade. Miami can also get creative with there Lineups with Wade,Allen, Battier, Lebron, Bosh or Chalmers, Allen, Wade, Lebron, Bosh ect..

He just seems like a perfect fit. Can stretch the floor, doesn't need the ball and a high IQ and character guy.

Miami's always been at their best when Miller was healthy and gave them that sniper out there. Ray should be able to fill that role with more consistency.

If thats true then he's for sure staying unless he's having some serious personal problems with some of the guys and he can't see himself returning.

I just don't get why Ray is showing interest in Miami and is over there. Boston is offering more money, staying with his buddies the big 3, a very good and improved version of Boston and if this is true then a no trade clause which basically means he won't have to think about being traded. Why is he in Miami anyway? Maybe his wife is interested in living the good life in Miami?

It just makes no sense right now.

Unless you're absolutely useless like an Eddy curry or eddie house, Pat Riley sticks by his guys thick and thin. A lot of Heat fans wanted Mike Miller amnestied and gone last summer for an upgrade, but Riles stuck by him.

Allen knows that Riley won't throw him under the bus and trade him. Riley is the best guy to play under .. no clause needed

Windhorst mentioned that Boston might be making their offers more public as a PR move. Just so that when Ray does leave it looks like they wanted him to stay.

It's possible neither side is really interested in a future together. Allen sure seems like he's planning on moving on.

lol the celtics are so gay

you cant blame allen for leaving, those guys in boston are old and when a bunch of old guys play on a team it suddenly just disappears and they are finished. Like falling off a cliff. It happens FAST.

The Heat on the other hand will 3-Peat and win many titles as they're still in their prime, and will get better together with time/chemistry

leaving boston for miami is a no brainer move, theres no reason to be a celtic, NONE

Does it not occur to you idiots that he was probably spending the night in Miami and flying to LA tomorrow before his meeting with the Clips was canned? Who the hell isn't gonna spend a night in Miami if they've got the free time?

Maybe he took the Missus with him and they're enjoying the night in South Beach.
We don't know the reasoning behind his stay. That's the thing..
All we can do is speculate..

Consistency. We often go through droughts from behind the line, and we're a significantly different team when we're making 3s.

Ray Allen is the most consistent 3 point shooter in history.

Plus, we can play Wade less minutes.

Not really any more bizarre than keeping his best interests in mind. Loosing his starting spot to Bradley would've hurt his pride, and with the Celtics signing Terry it doesn't send a message of faith to Allen either.

I would've agreed with you previously, but things have changed at Boston, Ray isn't as significant as he once was, and I believe that's a factor. Ray is probably looking for role security a bit more now.

He's thought process is probably more of a selfish one, and that's not a criticism.

yes but they dont have anyone that draws as much attention near the 3 point line than ray allen...i cant tell you how many times rondo gets layups on fast breaks because two guys frantically run to ray when hes spotting up..a lot of times pierce drives to allen's side because he knows the defender won't help..ray gets everyone else easy looks without even having to pass.

his legacy is set in stone and winning another ring won't change anything especially if you go to a team that is rivals with the team you were just on.

LOL Half our roster hates Chalmers, and while Haslem may be a fan fav in MIA, I cant stand that guy either. I also cant stand Battier,James Jones, and Norris Cole.

Ray taking this long makes me feel hes a Celtic.

I'm not 100% there yet.

We've heard nothing about him sitting down with Danny and Doc to talk about how this is all going to play out. I have no doubt that Paul and KG and probably even Rondo will be talking to him about, as well.

This decision is taking way too god damn long. I'd still like to make a run for Lou Williams, Michael Redd and Camby but it's almost as if Ray is their only target now that they've outlined the skeleton of deals for Bass and Green. All the decent pieces are going to be gone, and if Ray opts to sign elsewhere, Boston is shit out of luck.

T-Mac to Boston is starting to look a lot more likely.

Celtics already over the cap with Green and Bass. Little to no chance of getting Lou Williams.

You're making a pretty grandiose assumption in believing that's all Ray Allen is seeking to begin with. Judging by your join date, avatar and username you probably weren't even a Heat fan when they won it in '06, so exercise a little decorum and try not to come off as such an oblivious, agenda-driven goon.

Ray Allen has a ring, All Star appearances, as well as league and franchise leading records to his credit. His legacy is set. Another ring does little in the way of upping his overall status as one of the greats of the past 20 years. Stop making lofty conclusions that only further discredit your frontrunning fanbase.

What's your point? The serious cap restrictions don't take effect until 2013-2014. They'll be over the cap filling the remaining roster spots to begin with and they likely lose Stiemsma to Minnesota. Lou Williams made a little over $5 million last season. It's not as if he's going to request anything near a max offer or something.

If rings > noise, than the noise than the 17 seasons' worth of championship hardware bearing a Celtics logo ought to quiet you down some. Let's see this franchise you've adopted in the last 18 months build some history before you go down that road.

Danny isn't doing his job if he doesn't consider all options with regard to making the team better, and Ray Allen of all people understands this. And I don't for a second believe that Pat Riley wouldn't also trade Ray away in a heartbeat if he thought he could improve his team's chances of winning.

Not every player who is considered for a trade is Lamar Odom.

Who's salty? You're speaking in broad generalities and cliches you've heard from second and third-hand sources while passing it off as your own conclusions. You don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so conjecturing about it - with an obvious bias - is pointless and counterproductive.

There is no long-standing beef of any kind. Rondo has even celebrated Christmas with Ray's family in Florida. The media would have you believe that there's some huge beef, but there isn't. They probably bicker at each other, but f*cking Rondo bickers with everybody because he's a stubborn bastard.
