Almost 15m a year straight math...prob incremental as are most contracts. Damn, almost the same as Bynum.

It's A VC3!!!

Probably overpaid but I'm really interested in the Nets now. Planning on subscribing to league pass broadband for the first time next year, might have to throw in the Nets as one of the teams.

They didn't need to include it. Lopez had indentical offers from Nets, Blazers and Bobcats. Obviously Nets is the best situation for him at this point.

They have some good scoring options now, plus they held on to Brooks. Brook should dedicate this off-season to curing his allergies regarding gathering up more than 10 rebounds a game. He's perfectly capable of double-doubles every night...hopefully he puts in the work this offseason and recognizes the chance he has here.

Considering the market now a days for big man .. that's a fair contract? Lopez is ridiculously underrated by almost everyone now. The guy can put up a solid 20 ppg efficiently. Anyone else remember when the Nets claimed him virtually untouchable? I think he bounces back this season ecspecially with a much improved roster - that should give him enough motivation.

Lmao I see the lockout taught onwers absolutely nothing. Now the Nets have almost 50 mill tied into Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace over the next couple years. At least they have Marshon Brooks n the euro dude. See even big market teams make stupid mistakes.

Definitely not worth that much. Which is why they left out the 5th year. Glad they have him starting. He's better than nothing!

I honestly don't know what ISH is on about.

The Nets have a great team, that fit together.

They have 3 of the better players at their position, then a 4th good player in Wallace. Lopez was secured at market value.

They look like one of the best teams in the league with this lineup.

Centres are getting paid huge dollars to just rebound at an average rate and be tall.
Yet posters think the best scoring centre in the league isn't worth this?

as much as i want to say over paid no if guys like mcgee and deandre are worth over 10m per year its not that bad. brook though really needs to rebound and play some defense. his scoring is on another level compared to tyson chandler so i guess his offense = chadler's defense? doesnt sound right
but just try to play some and it will be worth it.

brooks
JJ
Wallace
Lopez

not bad... just stay healthy

JJ, Wallace and Lopez are all injury risks. If they all play 82 games, sure, they will be great.

He is best scoring centre in the league. Have you ever seen him play?
NO you BLOODY HAVEN'T as you just said 'no where near'.
Scoring is what he does.
He will average over 20 ppg.
Which of the above do that?

1.

Dwight. 20.6 ppg.

No where near? OK.

Not that's it just about averages. Lopez can actually really score. He accumulates points with fantastic inside scoring.

Considering how strongly the Net fans think LopeZ > Bynum they should be rather happy with this...you apparently have the second best center in the NBA.

NEXT, fool.
He averaged 20 PPG on a crappy team. Big Al averaged 23 PPG on a crappy team IIRC. Did you watch KG in the playoffs this year? :confusedshrug: He is DEFINITELY not a better scorer than Dwight or Bynum. Just because D12 doesn't look smooth doesn't mean he isn't a very good scorer. He had an off year anyways. Do you honestly think Bynum couldn't average more PPG than Lopez if he was on the ****in' Nets?

Lopez is the best scoring center in the league... Bottom line. If there was 10 seconds left and Howard, Bynum, or Lopez had to get a bucket, I trust Lopez to score over the other two. People are only underrating him because they have NEVER watched him play. I mean this guy is going to have a breakout year this season. Defenders will be forced to stay at home with Joe and Deron which will free up room for Brook. I stated it multiple times that I only wanted Howard for his defense and not his offense. It's absurd how uninformed people are simply because they have watched Lopez play zero times. Those who have not watched Lopez play please shut up and stop offering input on this thread. This guy came back from injury and dropped 38 despite being double and triple teamed the entire second half.
Yes his defense is abysmal. Well that's it because my fingers are tired since I'm writing from my iPad. I'll return to the computer tomorrow when I get at work.
Amazing effort though Billy. Despite offering very little he kept rob on the line for two weeks.

Can Nets still move Kris Humrpies in a sign and trade? I think they need a defensive 4 who can slide over to back up center and they'd be set for the season. I expect to see a lot of Gerald Wallace at the 4. Targets might include JJ hickson, anthony randolph, mahimi,

Yes they could although you'd need to find a team with the asset you want to take back.
