I love watching Melo when he's on. I don't think he's a particularly hard worker, and I think he's one of those players that gives up easily when the chips are against him so it doesn't reflect badly on him. So as if to say, well I wasn't all there, if I did show up, it would have been different. That's hardly the case though when you're a pro athlete and it is looked upon quite poorly.
Saying that though, he's my favorite player to watch when on. His jumpshot has to be one of the prettiest I've seen ever. Him and Mitch Richmond.

Just accept that not everybody else sees the game the same way you do.
The problem with Melo is that he plays both a little dynamic behind the 3pt line + a lot of static mid-range 1on1. It's a bad combination.
On his mid-range 1on1 he does a lot of pull ups without attacking, he's not particularly good on these jab step pull ups but seems determined on shooting them. Doing this he makes himself a worse player than he could be.
Him being determined playing face up 1on1 from mid-range also makes it impossible to be succesfull in spacing the floor effeciently with two other big guys(Chandler Stoudemire). No matter how you slice it there isn't enough room for 3 big guys inside the 3pt line which is why we've seen Stoudemire standing at the 3pt line as a shooter on several occasions last year.
He needs to get better at moving without the ball, especially on the perimiter in pick'nroll situations and attacking in 1on1 dynamic(knowing and making your move as soon as you get the ball by reading your defender before you get the ball).
Defense is a whole other story, for x amount of year people have been saying he can play good defense when he wants to. But for x amount of years Melo apparently hasn't wanted to. Why wouldn't you do something on a basketball court that your are good at all the time?

I too hate Carmelo. I'll never discredit his scoring ability though. Of course his FG% looks bad most games, but he can score. He's just not a winner to me. He's only concerned about getting his points. Hell he doesn't even get mad after a loss. At least Amare punches something when he loses.

I'm not saying he's the perfect all around player (Melo), nor am I saying everybody should agree with me. All I'm saying is, I'm getting tired of the continuous bashing of good players. Kobe's a chucker, Lebron's a chocker, Melo is a ballstopper, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook are 2 guards.. Or 'shoot first PGs can't win championships'. Shall I continue?

Some people don't like that style of player, myself included.
This generation's style of "wanna be like Mike" volume scorers who slack off on defense and tend to break the flow of the offense. It's not my kind of player. I'm not even saying they don't have their place, but it's just not the kind of player I prefer.

This shit is hilarious on some many levels.
Lebron not only wanna be like Mike, is only goal is to beat Mike, he became the ultimate ring chaser because his only goal is to beat Mike.
He isn't a volume scorer because he can't be, Lebrick just doesn't have the skills period, the running into people, getting the call and the high efficient shot, will only work sometimes.
He might get 40 against the skeleton of Tayshaun Price or the tired old Pierce but that's it.

You must really hate watching Kobe play.
Kobe playing hero ball in the 4th quarter is horrible, but for most of his career he's played 1on1 off situations in the triangle which is OK because most of the time he played off the ball in the triangle as well.
But agreed this past season Kobe was mainly horrible to watch.
Also a difference between him and Melo is that through his career Kobe is an all-time great shooter, Melo is not yet try to play like he is.

LMAO  Lebron even said he wants to be a global icon, a la MJ. Hence the reason why he just brought a stake in the soccer club in England lol. He's trying to make himself a brand like MJ, but it ain't working. He'll never reach MJ levels of popularity, not even Kobe's level. (worldwide)
And of course Lebron isn't considered a volume shooter. The man can't shoot to save his life. He better stick to them layups and foul calls tho.

Melo's jab step is nasty. I don't Griffin is a good enough shooter yet to pull it off with any sort of worthwhile regularity (of course, going by FG%, you could argue Melo isn't either).
I wonder if he's tried reaching out to Barkley for some moves. That's the guy Griffin should be emulating.

Knicks fans just make me depressed. It's really sad that some of them can't enjoy watching one of the greatest players in the history of the game due to their bitterness. Is Melo better? No. Is Melo great? Yes. He's an amazing scorer, much more so than LeBron. However, Blue&Orange seems to have forgotten that LeBron ripped OKC a new asshole in the post this Finals and anyone who says Durant didn't hack him on most of his drives is just wrong. That's why he didn't guard him really.

If you want to know something interesting, Durant gets to the FT line more than Melo does and averages more paint/rim FGM than Melo does.
Melo has the ability to score in multiple ways but more times than not he just settles for jumpers.
Melo is not even a top 3 scorer in the game. Durant, Lebron, and either or both Kobe/Dirk are better scorers than Melo.
