After this it's debatable. But this is the top 10 without doubt.

You honestly think Drexler was a better player than Kobe right now? I'd like to dispute Barkley and Ewing as well, but I could maybe understand the reasoning behind ranking them higher due to the bigger impact big men could have in a game than wing players. I still think if you compare player to player though, Kobe is better than Ewing.

But, Drexler? Please tell me this isn't agenda-driven at all. Drexler?

27/5/5 on piss poor 43% shooting and losing in the 2nd round

or

25/7/7 on 47% shooting while leading your team into the finals

I'm ranking them based on the '91-'92 and '11-'12 NBA Seasons. Barkley had a down year, that was when he wanted out of Philly and his play was subpar for his standards. Just about any other year from '88-'93, he'd be top 3. Magic didn't play in the '91-'92 season, but he'd be top 3 at his '91 level. Laettner also didn't play in the NBA in the '91-'92 season, but he'd be towards the bottom anyway. Bird only played in 45 games and barely played in the playoffs, but he was still a 20/10/7 player.

Kind of tough ranking 20 years apart.

Numbers can be deceiving. I watched both Drexler in the 91-92 season, and Kobe this past season, and I'd personally rank Kobe ahead of Drexler.

28/5/5 btw**

I will say though that Drexler's 91-92 season was definitely his 2nd or third best season in the NBA. Though (like Kobe's past season), it wasn't one of his most efficent seasons.

don't even remember how i voted other than MJ/lebron being at the top. i'd honestly need more time to properly rank something like that, not like two minutes.

i feel like some are underrating barkley. didn't he lead the team in scoring? he might have had a down year but dude was a monster in the olympics. otherwise, i have no problem with most of these rankings. bird was hobbled and on his last legs but no way was he in the 20s. late teens at worst.

Barkley typically was a better player than almost any of these players around this time, I just didn't think he played up to that standard in '92. it was easily his worst prime season('88 or '89-'93) by far.

I definitely couldn't put Barkley as high as Ewing in '92.

i have no idea why, but Mullin gets no respect in ISH. maybe because he is white?

Mullin was sick between 88 to 92. dude was awesome. in that span he was basically 26/5.5/4/2stl guy with shooting well over 50%. just an efficient scoring machine.

1st all-nba

5. Karl Malone 1992
Season: 28-11-3

Arguably the best SF in the NBA at that time

11. Charles Barkley 1992
Season: 23-11-4
Playoffs: Lets just say he had a bad team
He was maybe one of the 2 best producing and most efficient players in the dream team tho (if not the best producing?), so i have to have him this high..

Playoffs: 23-11-3-3

13. John Stockton 1992
Season: 16-3-14-3

Was just about in the process of taking the torch from Magic as the best PG in the NBA and he was that for the decade.

14. Larry Bird 1992
Season: 20-10-7
Playoffs: 11-5-5
Basically crippled back, out of his prime, was just about to retire, still packed a punch tho but with limitation, but that "punch" was just enough deadly to earn him this spot above these guys downstairs.

15. Russell Westbrook 2012
Season: 24-5-6
Playoffs: 23-6-6
Best PG in the NBA?

16. Carmelo Anthony 2012

Playoffs: 16-5-3
6th man of the year

22. Tyson Chandler 2012
Season: 11-10-1
Playoffs: 6-9-1
Defensive Player of the Year

23. Christian Laettner 1992

When it comes to Magic, I don't get why some lists have him at around #10 just because he wasn't playing. I have no problem with either the notion that he should remain unranked (and so should Laettner, for the same reason) or with the idea that he'd play at around his 1991 level, which would make him, at worst, a top-4 player (whether Robinson should be ranked ahead of him is debatable, since statistically they were comparable, Robinson was a defensive beast, while Magic was a beast of a leader and clutch player - few ranked Robinson ahead of Magic in 1991).
