On the positive side, Unibrow to London?

according to cf86, this is nothing but a win-win situation. now he gets to rest and watch game film to improve himself. on top of that, he has more time to read existential novels. all blake does is win.

First off... why the unnecessary thread when one is already going this actively on the topic? Secondly.... I reiterated that IF it wasn't an injury like this it was win/win. Not with an injury requiring surgery obviously. Also why would I be on suicide watch people? Griffin will be back for training camp and he's getting arthroscopic and it's not a major tear. Sure I'd rather him be healthy working on his game but now he will be forced to stop jumping and shoot free throws and work on post moves? I believe it will all work out. At least he got 2+ weeks with Team USA experience.

Kind of a random thought, but has any of these surgery on athletes ever gone bad?

Like he goes with for microscopic and comes out with a junior mint in his leg or something.

I always wondered same thing too and honestly I don't think the team will allow them to go to a doctor that isn't a world class one. It's their investment and they want to protect it. I don't see Griffin calling around seeing which doctor to go to. It's probably a team/NBA decision.

Blessing in disguise according to clipperfan86 :applause:

Quote me or STFU. I said if it was a knee sprain or minor injury it would be a blessing in disguise possibly and gave valid reasons for that. Never said an injury requiring surgery was a blessing.

Well I guess it would suck to him to not be able to participate in the Olympics, but being able to play when the 2012/13 season starts isnt so big of a loss and should be the positive outlook. Thankfully it was not that bad. And more than likely, he will be on the Olympic team in 4 years time.

i always get frightenend when i hear the word 'tear' with these athletes. very sad way to go out. but a meniscus tear is not as killer as the ACL

It might be a minor surgery but I imagine his knee will never be the same as it was before the surgery. In other words, the way he continually "jumps" will probably cause him to do damage to the knee and cause him to have another type of injury.

If a guy like Bynum can come back from having surgery twice, once on each leg.. Then that gives me confidence that Griffin can do what he can to take care of buisness.

Bledsoe doesn't power dunk as much as Blake Griffin does. And neither does Bynum.

And power dunking repeatedly puts more pressure on the knee than being grounded.

Leave it to ISH to dramatize anything that happens to a Clipper. They will use any chance to bring up a "curse" or bash the Clippers. When Rose got injured he got nothing but love... when Griffin gets injured a bunch of scumbags celebrate the injury and make negative comments about him being done, never being the same etc. An ACL/MCL tear like Rose suffered is about 5 times more severe.

Irrelevant.

I was speaking about having confidence in rehabbing properly.

What Griffin needs to do is realize that a simple layup every now and then, or just a simple jam is easier on the body than continually try and jump 50 feet in the air, and tomahawk windmill it on everyone.

This aint NBA Jam. There are no power up and hot spots. In real life it takes a toll on your body. And if he wants to last he better tone it down a bit... and pick his spots.

He'll be lucky if he will be 50% of what Amar'e is.

Amar'e would give up his tiny left testicle to rebound like Griffin... and pass.. and score too...

Blake's rookie season: 22.5/12.1/3.8
Amare's entire career: 21.6/8.8/1.5

poor guy Amare... those rebounds and assists are pretty terrible in comparison to what Griffin put up in his very first year.. as a rookie :oldlol:

Blake got worse in his second season, and looks to be deteriorating in front of our eyes. He was benched in the playoffs for Kenyon Martin for getting abused by old Duncan and the Spurs, whereas Amare abused prime Duncan to the tune of 37 per night in the playoffs.

Blake will be lucky if he even scores 20ppg next year. He'll be ready for the season, but his knee will not be 100% till the following year.

Obv no knee surgery is good but according to reports this is relatively minor and is unlikely to have long term effects.

FWIW Clippers fans, there's very little - if any - panic coming from the Blake Griffin/Clips camp in terms of the seriousness of his injury.

Blake got worse in his second season

in the season that he "got worse" (ie: shared the ball with his new PG) Blake still put up a statline that Amare would love to have for his career..

20.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 3.2 APG, 54.9% FG

in Blake's worst year, his rebounding and assist numbers still embarrass Amare's. :oldlol:

He was benched in the playoffs for Kenyon Martin

he definitely wasn't playing on a left knee injury or anything :lol

Amare's best year: 26.0 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 1.6 APG, 55.9% FG
Blake's worst year: 20.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 3.2 APG, 54.9% FG

:lol

it's a real shame Amare could never break through the double digits for his rebounding

Knee injuries are gonna plague Blake if he continues his current style of play. Lebron's the exception to the rule. There's no reason why Blake should be using his strongest dunks in pick up games.

Watch more before you talk out of your ass. Griffin had less shots, less touches, played less minutes and wasn't used as much as he should have been. Adding a few ball stoppers like Billups andCaron and the most ball dominant PG in the game absolutely hurt his scoring. CP3 didn't use Griffin properly at all.
