I wouldn't be surprised. Rubio talked trash about Spain beating Team USA in the Olympics and look what happened..

Kyrie says that he could beat Kobe 1on1.. and now this shit..
Tzvi Twersky @TTwersky
For those asking, Irving's injury had nothing to do with the Select Team. Apparently, he injured it during a LV Summer League practice.
Breaking: Kyrie Irving's hand is in a cast. He most likely broke a bone during practice, according to sources
How he break a bone in his hand?

Injuries are really really scaring me. So many key players are making the NBA worse by suffering a injury and sitting out for a lengthy period of time.
I hope the Nets can remain fully healthy for an entire season and post season. ( crosses fingers)
lets see how good his handle is now with 1 hand against summer league anyway

I'm 100 percent behind the idea that star players of the NBA SHOULD NOT be in the Olympics due to injury risk. I understand Griffin's was before season ended but still we are seeing what can happen.

For sure.. but you know how prideful players are. You sometimes need to FORCE them to get rest and heal properly after the season. Teams need to protect their investment.

that is just wrong.
not only for the country, but to every other country as well.
sure they may win a medal, but it would be against an america team who didnt send over any star players.

if he was able to play it shouldn't be a problem.
it was probly buggin him while he played and afterward had it checked out just in case and it turned out there was a fracture.
that leads me to believe it is the left hand.

Jason Lloyd
Irving was upset with himself after turning the ball over in practice, smacked his hand into the padding of the wall. But the pad was thin. He kept playing, then had the hand hit again and he took himself out.
Really not that big of a deal. I was looking forward to he and Dion playing in the Summer League, but oh well. It is July. He'll be fine for training camp.
Punching a wall is actually a very easy way to break your hand. Trust me... I've experienced it.

whenever i got mad at a turnover or somthing i would slap the padding and nothing would happen and i would feel better
must have punched it.
very stupid, but probly somthing he does all the time in the cleveland gym and didnt think about the difference in padding in some gym in las vegas....
sad mistake though.
watch out for some improvements on kyries left handed ball handling and driving ability though :oldlol:

he punched it. its pretty much common sense that you have to punch a wall to break your hand.
its practically impossible any other way.

go smack a wall right now, with some padding on it i dare you.
i did it every single day at basketball practice as hard as i could and literally nothing happened.
i've even smack the gyms walls with no padding, wasnt even so much as so the next day.
he probly assumed their was enough padding and punched it only to find out he was wrong.

toe cause no problems all season
concussion do not make you injury prone
he could have played a week after the shoulder injury but we sat him to move up in the draft
and punching a wall does not make you injury prone, just makes you stupid.

Meh. It's July. What the hell else are we going to talk about? Players designing hypothetical games of one on one that everyone knows will likely never take place and that certainly will never be seen by the general public?

I could be wrong, but isn't this the first bone he has broken?
At Duke, the problem was essentially "turf toe"... Which is an issue with the ligaments in your big toe. Last year, he had a slight injury to his shoulder -- certainly not a break -- and a concussion that held him out a few games.
Those were the only three injuries I was aware of up until today.
