his high is super high, low is very low. one thing is certain that jeremy lin is a playmaker and has a great court vision. now that he doesn't play under dantoni anymore, he will play smarter. expect linsanity to continue sporadically for next couple of years.

It obviously is impossible to work on and to improve your handles. You either have handles when you born or you don't. :rolleyes:

His handle isn't great, and he sometimes throws inexplicably bad passes, but let's not act like he can't improve on reducing turnovers. He was already improving before he got injured, in some of his games later on he really didn't get that many turnovers, and when he did, some of them were offensive fouls. :coleman:

You can't teach basketball IQ, work ethic, and play making ability. his handle is a big issue, but i think it's because he wasn't conditioned to play 40 min.

mark my word, healthy Lin next year will avg 18/4/8.5 next year. that's more than decent. he will still lead in TO, but i'm betting it will be around 3.9 ish.

next year he won't have to deal with NY media, won't have to look over the shoulder because he is getting paid for 3 years, and pressure will be off because he doesn't have to deal with yello melo saga.

by the end of next season Lin will be regarded as top 7-8 PG universally. :bowdown:

Yeah that was my immediate thought too, looked lethargic as f***. I'm a million miles from an NBA-caliber point guard but I believe you've got to have (at least) a six speed gearbox, not just one or two gears. :confusedshrug:

Such a silly talking point that's been repeated over and over. Let's be clear about something... I think Kyrie scored the first three times he touched the ball against Lin. He was literally going right past him, through him and over him. If Lin had remained on Kyrie for most of the game, there is no doubt in my mind Kyrie would have had a career night. It was so bad that NYK had to switch others onto Kyrie midway through the first quarter.

On the other end, Kyrie was defending Lin for pretty much the entire game and Kyrie was an admittedly awful defender last year. So, of course Lin had some success just as nearly every opposing PG that we played last season had success offensively against Kyrie's defense (and our overall awful team defense once Andy went down).

But, Lin "outplaying" Kyrie would have to mean that they were defending one another. It just wasn't the case. Kyrie was defending Lin. Lin tried to defend Kyrie and couldn't, which the Knicks realized immediately and rectified the situation about five minutes into the game.

Oh, and in order to have full disclosure, here were the respective starting lineups in that game...

Cavs
PG - Kyrie Irving
SG - Anthony Parker
SF - Omri Casspi
PF - Antawn Jamison
C - Semih Erden

Knicks
PG - Jeremy Lin
SG - Landry Fields
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Amare Stoudemire
C - Tyson Chandler


As for Lin as a player... He will end up being a decent role player on mediocre teams and he will probably bounce around the league over the next decade. Certainly not the kind of guy you throw ridiculous money at (as the Rockets did).
