They got married in Kenya because that is where her mother lives and also has a lot of family. They are getting married twice... once in Kenya for her family and once in Germany for his.

That was the point, to show that there are places in Kenya that look like cities here. As mentioned, the bride is Kenyan and there are places there that meet the standard of civilization (especially if you're a wealthy man like Nowitzki). They are capable of accomodating the wealthy.
