Being here in Vancouver I felt I've had a great variety in ethnic dishes with all the different cultures that reside here. But the other day I ate at an all-you-can-eat Bolivian restaurant and was introduced to a new experience of dishes I've never tried. I had a Quinoa salad, an awesome carne dish of a pulled beef type stew and a zucchini lasagna.

Any unique dishes you worldly guys would recommed?

Had this Korean dish once...it was like a large circular dish with divided spaces for different kinds of foods like rice, vegetables, chicken, pork, etc and in the middle was an egg that was frying because the dish was still hot...it was absolutely amazing. No clue what it's called.

I don't think it's a chain resturant, but that German Resturant was called Metzger.

Schnitzel is traditionally Austrian, if I'm not mistaken. Also, while it's good, it's really nothing special, just breaded cutlet. Good, but nothing to write home about. OP, try to find some veal goulash. Now that is tasty. They have it down to perfection here.

I use to go to a sick all you can eat in Ilsan, Goyang City once a week. About 10,000 won ($10) for all you can eat - insane prices. We were probably eating meat from dogs and POW survivors.

Calling out Koreans on BS stereotypes is ok, but saying f@g or nikka makes you a horrible person.

That's a joke. Calling them nips, gooks, etc is shitty. I won't get bent out of shape about being called a sheep ****er, cause it's true
We do need to have limits. I like to joke around, but I don't toss around names. I use to joke with my students about them eating people's pet dogs, and they reamed me out for eating rabbits. It's joking around.

I will ask my taco man how he makes it. I think he just has good timing, the difference between having a tough tongue and a soft tongue is mere minutes. It is easy to overcook.

Mōlli or 'mole is a thick soup somewhat like a curry I suppose. Can be made very spicy. But instead of Lamb, uses chicken.
Mexican dish. A friend once made some and it was extremely delicious. Ate it with rice and then with bread when I finished my rice.

after seeing a mole dish win Top Chef Masters(1st season) where Rick Bayless said he traveled all over Mexico and it took him 10+ years to master the dish i always wanted to try it. got some as a side sauce for a chicken burrito at a local mexican joint but it wasn't what i expected, was rather disappointed. it was too sweet and thick, and seemed a bit dry but maybe they purposely made it like a sauce and thickened it more than it should've been for soup purposes. almost reminded me of molasses in a way...

Some variations add chocolate as well to counteract the spice and is quite tasty indeed. Nothing beats the way Grandma makes it.

It's no different from any other tough cut of beef (brisket, round roast, etc.). The key is to use a low temp over a long period of time in order to break down the muscle fibers.

Yep, its a Georgian recipe. I would recommend going to an authentic Russian or Uzbeki type place. They usually have stuff from all over USSR, not just the city they represent. Those soups are pretty standard.

Vancouver foodies, there's this new place on Main called Portland Craft that actually serves chicken on waffles with watermelon from scratch and other southern comfort food. Cool thing is all their beer is imported from Portland from places Myth suggested for me to go (thanks again buddy).
I was there last week and had Prawns and jalepeno cheddar grits. My very first experience with grits too. Loved it. I'm going back for the chicken and waffles and Dechutes beer. More southern than Memphis Blues
