the clock worker tried to end the game 2 times within 1 second of play.. when there were 3 seconds left!

the same ending would have been replayed in the NBA the exact same way if clock errors took place

The thing is, the game should never have stopped after Collins hit the FT's. Like they said, no time-outs remaining. Yet, with the Soviets putting the ball into play and with around 2 of the 3 seconds gone, the refs stop the game for no apparent reason. Then, the Soviets try to make an outlet pass, but with less than 1 second remaining, since the other 2 were played. The refs cancel this play and order that the clock goes back to 3 seconds remaining.
The time keeper didn't seem to try to deceive the Soviets. He was probably just trying to figure out why the refs stopped the game.

So, the question is, why did they (while giving back those 2 of the 3 seconds remaining to the Soviets)? And how can someone not be pissed off when, in such a crucial point, such a bizarre thing occurs? Not saying the refs were trying to steal the gold from the Americans, but, unless a clean explanation was given, the USA were correct to feel cheated.

No, it's about a supposed Canadian who for some reason or another hates people from the United States and created a topic with the sole purpose of baiting. This makes you an antagonist. You have some misplaced notion that Americans (as they're referred to by most of the world) are responsible for all the troubles in your life and that they are somehow of lesser moral standing. There's many more people from the United States than there is from Canada, therefore there will be more assholes, but there is also more good citizens making a difference in the world. If you're going to start a thread about the 72' Olympics and the controversy that ensued then I suggest you start a thread with a documentary clip or a clip from the actual game so you can actually let people decide for themselves. Instead you randomly bring up the 72' basketball controversy when no one was talking about it and was on top of no minds. So people will then have to resort to their memory about something which hasn't been a big topic for some time. You could have started a genuine discussion and offered up your points where they differed with others, you instead preferred to start some ridiculous argument in which you are doing more baiting and bashing than offering actual intelligent points.

They're retards but you're the one who types at a fourth grade level. As for our presidents being murderers, idiots and degenerates, they're not. They may not be perfect (far from it) and they may make decisions which divide the nation but they're far from idiots, murderers and degenerates. They garner a lot of criticism like all politicians. The Canadian leaders would garner the same level of criticism if anyone knew anything about them but they don't have the same platform and level of responsibility as the U.S. leaders. Canada isn't as powerful as the U.S. and neither are the leaders, therefore they won't receive the same kind of criticism.
