If Austin was going to be there, they would have advertised him. He's too big a draw to be a surprise. Goldberg had little to nothing to do with Raw and was a major flop during his sting. No point of him being there. It would have been nice to see a few other guys but it was what it was.

WWE's problem now is that they got too mainstream. I don't mean that in the snobby "it's popular now so i don't like it as much" way. I mean they're so concerned with media perception, Linda's political campaigns, anti-bullying campaigns, social networking campaigns, business relationships/ventures, and selling products to kids that they aren't focused on the actual wrestling/storylines/characters anymore.

It's really a shame cuz WWE has more amazing athletes on the roster now than ever before, but they only get like 2-3 minutes of TV and no character development because WWE needs to make time to sell themselves. Last night we got that horrible Sonic product placement that actually interrupted a wrestler's entrance, Santino and Hornswoggle selling WWE stuffed toys, Charlie Sheen for no reason at all, the same "Be a Star" bullshit they show every week, about 3 different segments of nerds "Touting" their comments on Raw, a segment interviewing WWE's 100 millionth Facebook/Twitter follower...and maybe 15 minutes of actual wrestling. It's not the wrestler's fault AT ALL that WWE's sucking lately. It's Vince's fault because his priorities are completely different now that he doesn't have WCW biting at his heels.

I enjoyed the show, but that was just cuz it was a nostalgic episode.

L.Kizzle
07-24-2012, 08:39 PM
At the end, it's only 3 hours. They just can't fit everyone in the past into those hours.

Oh, don't forget those who showed up at Heath Slater vs legends match.
3 Hours is plenty of enough time to bring back tons of people.

Who really appeared, half of DX thats really it. Hacksaw Jim Duggen and Mae Young (and hand) for 15 seconds.

Vader, Sid, Lita, Rikishi, Animal, Backlund and like 6 others. All of them were part of that APA/Lita vs Slater squash match.

Also, Bret was a special guest announcer before the I.C. match. He was the only one with his own spot.

They could have had more past stars if DX didn't cut a lame 25-minute promo.

The only other people I woulda liked to see are Stone Cold obviously, and Shane McMahon.

Other than that I got no problem with others missing. Anyone else they would have had woulda just seemed forced.

They had pretty much all the big names that are alive/not involved with TNA though

Rock
Triple H
Shawn Michaels
Mick Foley
Bret Hart
Undertaker
Kane
X-Pac
New Age Outlaws
Roddy Piper
Sid Vicious
Vader

What other living/Non TNA main eventers from the past should have been there? I can't think of any

Oh god Terri probably looks terrible these days lol

I guess they coulda featured guys like Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Booker T etc...but considering they were part of the effort to run Raw/WWF out of business I can see why WWE would leave them off :oldlol:

Though Bret was also a big part of that effort too...

Pretty much, everybody else who had anything to do with Raw is in TNA, or dead. The only people who I could have seen them bringing back would be Venis and the Godfather who aren't PG friendly and Goldust who recently was fired. There really weren't and big names missing other than Austin. Maybe Sable?

Actually **** that, Steve Blackman should have showed up to beat Slater's ass. I would have marked out.

True they coulda had Sable come out since she's married to Brock and was probably there anyway. Her and Steph coulda renewed their feud from back in the day since their real-life husbands are feuding now

Austin explains why he wasn't at Raw

"The reason I did not attend RAW 1,000 was because I underwent a major knee surgery on my left knee on July 2, 2012. Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA performed the surgery," he states.

Austin says the surgery was a complete success, but he remains on crutches and recently began physical therapy.

He continues, "STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN IS A 100% ASS KICKING MACHINE. There was no way I was going to limp down the ramp on crutches for RAW 1,000. It was time to get my knee fixed. The decision to no-show RAW 1,000 was made by me and no one else. I have always taken pride in making my shots and have never faked an injury or illness. Pro Wrestling is a tough game and it was time to pay the piper for some of the damage I incurred in the ring. No gripes. No complaints.

"To the fans that were hoping to see SCSA, I’m sorry I missed the show. I would have loved to be there under different circumstances. I normally keep my personal business to myself, but due to feedback and incorrect speculation, I have posted this blog and given the 411 on why I was not at RAW 1,000."

The DX reunion was wicked, although X-Pac was the only one who didn't get a line. AJ and Daniel's wedding getting crashed was predictable as always. Was hoping they'd name Edge the new GM, but they needed something to mess up the wedding. Lita and Trish still look fine as hell. Looking forward to the Jericho/Ziggler feud. Not sure why Randy Orton wasn't on the show. Didn't see the heel turn of CM Punk coming though. Think they should make the title match at RR a Fatal 4Way. Stephanie slapping Heyman was priceless, and Triple H and Brock was sick. Would've loved to see more of the former stars like Batista, but it was a 3 hour show and they could only put on so much. We'll see how they do with a new 3 hour format from now on.
