Couldn't wait to corner him. Ditto for @FisolaNYDN. Oscar says LeBron, w/ring, now belongs w/best he's ever seen alongside MJ, Magic & Kobe

that he's "seen"....

funny how real players who actually "play basketball" rank Kobe and Lebron much higher.

they must not use Math to find out how .4% FG makes a player eneficient :lol

Um, who is Oscar Schmidt?

The best player to have never played in the NBA. Turned the league down to stay in Brazil.

One of the Top 20 players I've ever seen.

And you are...?

Jeez, I honestly didn't know the guy. Get your skeptical ***** out of his ass for a second.

I googled... Scoring genius who couldn't defend a chair seems like a consensus?

Google "skeptical" too. You don't know how to use it.

Throw Bird in and they are the best non-centers ever to play.

Dude could score quick. His release and shot were ridiculous...

Oscar must be drinking too much capirinha before making this statement.

:biggums: . There is no logic and reasoning to justify this. Does he not remember Shaq and Duncan? Does he forget big men exist (seriously, only guards and LeBron are listed)?

Oscar was a BEAST!!!! He had big time range, could pass like Magic, was a smart player....definitely belonged in the NBA. Averaged over 40ppg in 1 Olympics, was the leading scorer in 3 Olympics.

it terms of best players ever and not best players of his era then those players have a good case

well mj, kobe, lebron does

people get all nostalgic but if you put magic and kobe on the same floor or magic and lebron it wuld b obvious to everyone that kobe and lebron are better. but thats to be expected. its 20 odd years later

Wrong.......Magic was a PG, his passing was the best ever, no one compares, he would throw passes every game that looked like he was throwing the ball out of bounds but hit the cutter on the hands in a crowd for a layup, his assists were legitimate assists, not just basic pass to a wide open guy on the outside for a 3.
He made passes that lived up to his name......Magic.
Now if you are talking 1 on 1, sure Kobe and Lebron are better but team game it's Magic.

He's not claiming anything about best of all time, he's talking about best he's ever seen.

What's wrong with this?

:facepalm

Best you've ever seen depends entirely on who you've seen.

In fact, more people should be talking about the best players they've ever seen instead of trying to pretend they know enough to being talking about the best of all time.

Not inconsistent. He doesn't have to have seen Shaq and Duncan. He's only commenting on who he's seen. Maybe he doesn't watch big men because he likes guards better. Finds them more exciting. The thing is, you don't have to have seen everyone to talk about the best you've ever seen. Which is why more people should be talking like this.

No NBA Scoring Titles? No care.

Too bad, and Oscar based so much on your caring...

You can have half the scoring leaders of all NBA seasons play in the same leagues that he did, and they'd still fail to score as much.

Basically this, certainly you shouldn't be angry at what I guy said off the top of his head when the answer specifically includes the qualifier that is is players which he has seen.

Not like it's far fetched, though guys like Shaq and Hakeem, maybe Duncan just seem like more valuable players to me because of their size of course.

Unless you are old enough to remember watching the 92 Olympics, you probably wouldn't know of him either since the guy never played in the NBA. It's really nothing to get smarmy about.
