If someone I don't know well but who I'd likely see multiple times over the course of the Olympics, asked me to grab something to eat and I couldnt make it, I'd try to see if they could meet up the next day or whatever. I think it's rude to turn down a new person's invite, even for something like a trip to the cafeteria.
