Scola has some pretty slick moves down low. Don't think there's one guy who's above everybody else.

Gasol brothers, Bynum, I think TD still got it, and of course, Legawd:bowdown:

the correct answer is n/a

no bigs play back to the basket

nobody who plays back to the basket is a true big

So a true big does not play back to the basket??? Then how is inside out supposed to be played if bigs are always looking to the basket???

I think Gasol brothers play well back to the basket but Pau has clearly the edge.

sorry, I wasn't clear

the intended reading is 'none of the bigs in the league today play back to the basket'

as in, I was implying there are no true big men in the league (cliched as it is)

I'm speaking of the last five seasons as a whole; Bynum's logged one full great season so far

if he continues to improve and is healthy going forward, he could completely dominate this league

7'2" (at least), nearly 300 pounds, every post move in the book (didn't KAJ tutor him?), combo of power and finesse

right now Gasol is the guy in the league with the largest skill set, but he plays in the high post and stays baseline enough that it's not consistent with a true back-to-the-basket big

so question for everyone in here. Who's the better back to the basket player between pau and bynum?

Correct answer is whichever Laker big is in the low post which as of now is Bynum because that is the only place he can play. Pau has a better arsenal but last season he was out on the High Post too often to play back to the basket enough.

He always turns and faces his defender, though. Did you notice that?

My thought exactly. Either pulls up or drives, same can be said about Amare. Pau does it from time to time as well.

Not always. That's what makes his low post game so special. He starts off with his back to the basket, and is able to spin off his man quickly, or spin and face up, or back his man down and land a nice hook.

Thanks to those that posted videos. Those that trolled can find the nearest bridge to jump off. Based off the videos posted, I'd have to go with Jefferson myself....even though the video posted showed him consistently facing up.

I looked Scola up and his 44 point game on 20-25 shooting were mostly jumpers and fast breaks/cherry picking points...will have to check out other videos later.

is he REALLY that tall, or is it hyped up a little? What Im talking about is this...Dwight who is listed at 6'11, is actually only 6'9

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dwight-Howard-2888/

Kevin Love whose listed at 6'10 is only 6'7 .75

For the image directly above, Kareem being 7'2 in his prime...most likely losing an inch due to age...and andrew being shorter then him even with platform shoes (lol) I doubt hes as tall as they say he is. Just asking questions for discussion

imo bynum/hibbert are the only true back-to-the-basket players but gasol has more moves than them right now

however, mike brown only let's him get the ball 15 feet away which doesn't make sense to me

Dwight because he forces double teams. Might not be the most skilled bac to basket scorer but the effect on the offense is huge

What do you mean exactly? ...I mean Dirk is the best offensive threat but he works from the high post more than the low post.

FireDavidKahn

I'd nominate Big Al but he is more of a face up low post player rather than a back to the basket low post player. Best footwork in the league though.
