he's getting cooked on defense and he shoots a lot of ill advised shots.

i think it would be better for the team to start westbrook :confusedshrug:

I think his defense has been good when he's not playing with foul trouble. He is not a spot-up shooter but that's all he gets with CP3 and Bron dominating the ball

The only reason why he is even on the team in the first place is due to reputation. The same reason why he gets voted into All-Defensive teams year after year even when he shouldn't even have been in the discussion.

Kobe at this point would be best to take on the role Jason Kidd had in the 2008 team. Kidd wasn't much of a player, just a leader.

He only came to the olympics to bang white chicks. His game didn't travel with him, getting abused by nonathletic white scrubs is sad.

lol it's hilarious how just last game he shot 5 of 6 for 16 points and got the team off to a great start. now it's he should come off the bench. love it.

Today , EVERYBODY's defense was horrible. kobe's not the reason lithuania shot 60%.

But it doesn't matter. Coach K will never sit Kobe so yall keep hoping. keep praying. but it won't happen.

This. Kobe's what gives team USA that final touch. That finishing swag.

Where can I watch the games? I want to see them play.
Both games coming up and last games.

I don't believe he should I'd still have him start he can take games away from people if he's hot and Westbrook has been pretty average, no better than Kobe anyway.

you are watching the wrong team.
However, Lebron WAS getting repeatedly burned last night.
Perhaps he should sit and let a REAL point guard run the show?

I'm sorry but didn't Durant get beat of the dribble as well when he closed out? And there were a few times when he closed out late.

Oh and was kobe guarding kleiza?

Smh.

A team doesn't shoot 60% because of one guys d. The whole team had sh$tty moments on d.

Both Paul and Deron get burned on D as well, I have no idea how CP3 made All D 1st team over Westbrook, Bradley and Rondo. All he does is gamble for steals and play the passing lanes. His man to man D isn't very impressive, he is so small the opponent either shoots over him or drives to the basket with minimal resistance. Westbrook is the only guy who consistently stays in front of his man and harasses the shit out of them. Rose was also another great man to man defender that this team misses, he is one of the best at stopping penetration and not getting pushed around like a child. There is a reason why PGs rarely go off vs Rose or Bulls, he knows how to use his strength to dominate other elite PGs. Even in this past injury plagued season, he owned Tony Parker, CP3, Rondo and Deron. All that starts from his defense, and continues with his offense. Right now, only Lebron and Westbrook play any D. Kobe, Melo, Paul, Deron keep gambling, getting blown by or fouling their man cuz they were late on the switch.

With LeBron and Durant already with the starting group, there's no point in having Kobe with the starting unit, he'd be better off coming off the bench with the 2nd unit.

That said, Kobe's ego wouldn't take that too well, and it'd just stir up crap that Coach K doesn't want to deal with so it isn't going to happen.

To a Kobe stan like you he may be, but Dwyane Wade is the best sg in the league and will definitively show it when he's back and healthy this upcoming season. Hell when he was actually playing during the regular season he was much more efficient than Kobe and a vastly superior defensive player. He just wasn't chucking his way through the season like Kobe. Then he was obviously injured in the playoffs.

I'd prefer to give him a heat check once a game and then sit his ass on the sidelines if he isn't hitting shots. He's either on or off, and when he's off (and he usually is) he's a detriment.

Would you stay at home?

- the coach of team USA wants you on the team
- the olympic games are the greatest sports event (fun)
- you have a great chance to win Gold (winning)
- you are the most famous active basketball player in the world and there is no better way to promote your shirts, shoes,... around the world (money)

sounds like a perfect summer.

BlueandGold

I personally think he should. He's had his shot as a starter for team USA, he already has an olympic medal and at this point his age is definitely a factor (a minor one, but still has to be taken into account). On top of that team USA has 3 SFs/SGs started for team USA.
