View Full Version : Who's the Euroleague GOAT? Parker or Williams?

AirTupac

One of the biggest debates in the basketball world is who is the true Euroleague GOAT.

Is it Anthony Parker? 3x Euroleague MVP, 5 time Euroleague Champ? Who also is having a giant statue built in his honor.

or Deron Williams? Dropped a Euroleague record amount of points in 1 game, got his jersey retired in Turkey even though he only played there for a couple months. Also won every MVP of the month award while he was there (by a landslide).

And that is a fact.

Yeah I see what you're saying. Deron's short burst of domination is something the Euroleague will never see again. However, Parker won so much that he has to be the GOAT. My vote would have to go to Anthony "DA GOAT" Parker.

One of the drawbacks of the lockout ending last year was that guys like Deron couldn't raise the level of the Euroleague more. Playing with a GOAT like DWill woulda improved the games of VSpan and company. Hell, VSpan would probably learn how to average over 5 ppg in the NBA.

I'm gonna have to go with Anthony Parker. Deron Williams had a slightly better peak, but Parker has longevity on his side. He completely dominated the Euroleague for such a long time. And lets not forget about 50 year old Dominique Wilkins. He is definitely in the discussion. And then you have guys like Jordan Farmar, Andrei Kirilenko, and Nenad Krstic, who were also dominant forces in the Euroleague. But I think any reasonable basketball fan that has watched the Euroleague would agree that Anthony Parker and Deron Williams are easily the two best players in Euroleague history.

First post here! :)
I realise this is probably a troll thread, but I would like to give my opinion about this...
First, Deron Williams did not ever play in Euroleague (and neither did Pippen...), but that doesn't change the fact that he is probably the best player ever to play in Europe (I think that he is, but there are some older players from europe who never played in NBA and we can only speculate how good would they be), and if he had chosen a team that had a chance to actually play in Euroleague he would also be best player to play in Euroleague ( Ofcourse, this is if he actually was motivated and played completely devoted).
As for Parker, you guys should really stop mentioning him so much because you are only giving credibility to Euroleague (the poster) with such statements.
Parker was extremely good player for Euroleague level, but he was also in a peerfect situation which he used to his advantage, he is a player that probably wouldnt cross any european fan mind when naming top 20 to play in Europe ( not just the euroleague). He absolutely doesnt have a case to be in the discussion for European GOAT ( and neither does Deron because he only stayed for a couple of months, played for idiotic team, and failed to make any kind of team achievement, and did not take playing in europe seriously enough to actually show that he is on of the best ever to play here).

So, Deron Williams, who never played in Euroleague, is the "highest peak of any Euroleague player ever", Anthony Parker, who most European fans consider a top 20 American player in Europe, is the "Euroleague GOAT", and Nate Huffman, who played one season of Euroleague in his entire career, is the "2nd best Euroleague player ever".........................

:hammerhead:  :facepalm :wtf:

I forgot that they're building a giant statue for Williams as well. Wow, he just made a stronger case for Euroleague GOAT. I think its funny how Parker and Williams are one of the only ones in the past 10 years who could dunk a ball in the Euroleague.

Back to this serious and legit topic... Deron has to be goat euroleague player
Just his dominance in a short few months changed the face of euroleague and is probably now the most recognizable NBA player across Europe

Deron Williams didn't play in Euroleague, he played in an european league which is different. Going by that logic i play in Euroleague too :lol

But besides that, we can possibly assume that Deron was the biggest star from US that played in Europe until now.

Funny thing, i searched about that Huffman guy. Never heard about him and i even asked my father. It's kind of strange.

Maga, Deron Williams is not even remotely close to as a big of a name in world basketball as,

Dominique Wilkins
George Gervin
Oscar Schmidt
Nikos Galis
Arvydas Sabonis
Drazen Petrovic
Byron Scott

Those guys all played in Europe. Please don't start believing the shit some of these American morons post.

All of those above players played in Europe, and all of them are much bigger names in world basketball than Deron Williams.

Hell, even Sergey Belov, from way back in the day, is probably way more famous than Deron Williams is.

Of course your father has no idea who Nate Huffman is and of course you never heard of him. He played ONE SEASON of Euroleague with Maccabi.

I doubt if he is even in the top 500 most well known Americans to play in Europe, and maybe not even the top 5,000.

Hopefully, you are starting to realize how stupid most of the American NBA only fans here are.

DWill was the Euroleague GOAT after playing only 2 months:bowdown:

Funny you never of Nate Huffman, former Euroleague MVP and won Euroleague title. He looks like a nerd but in Euroleague he was a beast.:oldlol:
