I've seen LeBron get shaken and play scared in high pressure situations. He looked like he shrunk down to about 5 foot 7 in the NBA Finals versus Dallas.

No question he's a great player, but don't think if Jordan ever picked up on that that he wouldn't try to exploit it. MJ is many things, "nice" on the court is not one of them. If the Dallas Mavericks scared LeBron, Jordan could do the same.

Also this supposed Stackhouse > Jordan 1-on-1 game, when exactly would this have happened? Because when Stackhouse was leaving/at UNC, Jordan was in retirement. I seriously doubt he's beating a prime Jordan (see: age 26-28) in basketball shape. Maybe he did get the better of Mike coming back from baseball or in retirement at age 30/31, but this sure as hell didn't happen in Jordan's prime.

Honestly too LeBron isn't exactly the ideal 1-on-1 player. He is not *that* quick laterally (how many times do you see him break someone's ankles?). His first step is not that explosive. He likes to shoot from the outside a lot, but his shot can be pretty sporadic. He is big, but doesn't have the proper post game to punish people for it.

LeBron is a killer in the open court, running game, but 1-on-1 is all about your ability to score in the half court, not on transition offence.

Nobody plays 1 on 1 with alternating possession.

When you play alternating possession the best 3 point shooter has the better chance. When you play make it, the better defender and the player who can score the most efficiently wins. That's why I think 1v1 should always be make it take it in a series.

I think LeBron would beat MJ in 1v1 as long as LeBron didn't shit the bed, but there is a big chance MJ could psychologically dominate him. But no way could MJ stop LeBron from driving.

Edit: @ plow, you can get in people's heads playing 1v1. Even convincing them that they aren't showing their whole skillset (like, you would drive every time being as you don't have a J) then you get the ball back off their miss and close them out lol.

I dunno. I've been able to get to the rim on almost anyone easily just by driving and putting my body into them. I'm not overly strong or athletic but how can you stop someone who can get one foot in front of you?

Once LeBron got that step (and he would, easily) he could get a lay up every time. Bigger, stronger...

LeBron is big enough, however, to make sure Jordan couldn't do the same thing. That is how I decide who would win 1v1... other than the people who might mishandle the ball. I don't think either of them would.

Edit: You can't give someone space and take away their driving game if they do what I said. You can just keep inching forward, cradle the ball like you are rushing into the end zone and lay it in. Giving space, to me, only works if someone is dumb enough to shoot it or if you have help behind you.
