If we're going to be serious, Wiggins does remind me a little of Durant. He's got a great shot already for a 17 year old (almost NBA range 3 on it), and he's also got crazy athleticism. He's like Durant though in that he's either shooting a jumper, or going to the rim, but not much else (yet) in terms of scoring options.
He picks his spots well though. He won't spend a game taking 20 or 30 shots while freezing out his teammates. He'll score very well within the offense, and is good at doing so because he has a lot of tools to score (can shoot from anywhere, and has excellent quickness to get to the rim at will.
If you're asking for ceiling, it's way too early to tell because he's 17. You can't put a ceiling on a 17 year old really.

But he is already way better than mccants. Wiggins can play in the NBA now. Mccants can't.

i was just making a stupid joke :hammerhead:
talking about how good a player will be in 10 years time, especially considering most people havent seen a ton of his games, seems pretty retarded to me.

tmac
Not the creator or ball handler that Tmac is right now. Not to mention Tmac scored a lot out of the post, which Wiggins hasn't shown he can do yet.
That's why I think Durant is the best comparison right now (not ceiling, but stylistic comparison).
One thing he does differently than Durant though that's similar to young LeBron, is using that spin move all the time to get to the rim, which is one thing he does that I haven't even seen from Durant. Other than that move though, he's very similar to Durant. Quickness to get to the rim, long arms help to finish, but no amazing crossovers or very skillfull moves to get to the rim. He's actually also got a better pullup jumper than rookie Durant already, but he's nowhere near Tmac in terms of that, or just pure versatility when scoring.

i was more referring to as how good he can become.. i thought peak t-mac was realistic back then... but right now im thinking that could be the worst case scenario :oldlol:

I don't know much about Wiggins.. I did some looking...
Does this pretty much sum him up?
"Downside: He's not a great defender though he certainly has the physical capabilities. He doesn't own much of a mid range game at this point. His game is all about either jacking up long threes or taking his defender to the basket. If he added a nice mid range jumper or learned how to post up weaker defenders, he'd be devastating."
