its been a long time since weve seen LA with a 4 big man rotation. the mcrobby/murphy experiment was pure shit, so i disregard that. kenyon can definitely bring toughness to LA, but would he really want to play 15 mins a night? im assuming dwight will play about 35 a game and pau at least 30. and when one is on the bench, hill can fill for either of them. which leaves martin sitting on the bench waiting for his minutes. not too sure he'd be happy about that, though, he'd be a nice pick up for LA>

We got one roster spot left and our last weakness is guard depth behind Nash and Kobe. Meeks was a good pickup but Barbosa can solidify a good 10 man rotation on the team to keep Nash/Kobe/Pau from being gassed.

Dwight wont be ready to start the season so we need as many big men as possible. My vote is for Martin. I would have preferred Barbosa over Jodie Meeks though.

Barbosa is a no brainer and would be the final piece for the Lakers. He has excellent chemistry with Nash and is a career 39% 3pt shooter.

If the Lakers can somehow dump Blake in the process, their roster would be incredibly deep.

I think the Lakers offseason is over, plus Barbosa is past his prime. Wasn't all that impressed with him when I saw him play in Indiana last season.

Gasol's backup is Antawn Jamison (B+)
World Peace's backup is Devin Ebanks (D, right now)
Kobe's backup is Jodie Meeks (C+)
Nash's backup is Steve Blake (C-) and Chris Duhon (D)

Personally I'd rather give Blake minutes at backup PG (and Meeks can definitely play PG with Kobe on the court) and even give 4-6 minutes to Duhon; and sign Nocioni to backup World Peace.

As much as I love Ebanks and have high hopes for him, lets be honest... he is the least proven bench player we have. Heck, we still have Morris and Goudelock that can play PG. Why get Barbosa? Nocioni is a more well-rounded player. He is a great defender and a good shooter, overall he would bring a lot more to us off the bench.

Don't get me wrong, I actually believe Ebanks can be a big time player for us off the bench and eventually could become our starter but entering this season, he is the least proven and therefore I think we could use Nocioni more at SF then Barbosa at SG/PG.

Jamison can not defend SF's, he isn't a good defender to begin with and if you guys expect him to backup World Peace and Gasol; our defense will suck, bad!
