MVP has been given out since 1956, so that rules out every player from before then, and FMVP has only been given out since 1969, which rules out before then. And Olympics have had NBA players only since 1992. So yeah, real incredible.:lol

Winning olympics gold is a joke, USA is expected to win everytime with NBA superstars.
Hakeem - only player to win MVP, F-MVP, DPOY.
Way harder task to do.
It's A VC3!!!

But LeBron never had to play the same difficult teams like Kobe and Jordan did. Pfft. He played OKC. Big deal. He achieved nothing special.:lol

I wish they had an Olympic Tournament MVP (like they do at Eurobasket or whatever).
Lebron would get this years...and from what I hear Barkley would have gotten it in 1992.
Therefore Lebron would be the only person in the 5 Olympics since 1992 to have gotten the NBA MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and Olympic Tournament MVP in the same year.

After he joined Miami, no.

Magic, Bird, and Barkley all think Lebron can end up right behind MJ as the 2nd GOAT.
Had he stayed with Cleveland, the above statement would be valid.

Yea... like if he stayed with Cleveland he would ever win a championship with what he had to work with around him and with what he would have to work with around him his entire career while battling all these super stacked teams you see today.... He is already #11 of all time and he is not even close to the finish line, in Cleveland Lebron would had a Karl Malone career at the end of the day (whom he has surpassed already right now)...
Im sure wasting all that GOAT potential on staying home having a franchise waste such a players prime years because of the inability to abound an abundant cast and because no significant player felt/feels good toward arriving to that franchise would be worth it... im sure then being simply "loyal & loved" would be worth it...
Hating on Lebron for not continuing with Cleveland after 7 years and choosing Miami is like hating a Somalian for going somewhere he would not starv to death... yes its "not loyal" for not staying put and fighting thru life without food... but....

You act like Wade and Bosh are All-Time Top 10 players or something. Did playing with an All-Time Top 3 hurt Magic's legacy? Nope.
Is Wade even in the All-Time Top 50? Bird had McHale and Parish, both made the 1999 list of Top 50 Greatest Players of All-Time. That didn't hurt Bird, did it? Not at all.
LeBron just won a ring with both MVP & Finals MVP, first player in 9 seasons to do it. One of 5 players of the last 20 years to do it. This ring he just got is already legendary. Now, he just has to build on it.

Why? Did Kareem having Magic and Worthy disqualify him? Did Russell playing with Cousy and Sharman disqualify him? Did Jordan playing with Pippen and Rodman disqualify him?
It's the stupidest argument ever put forth to try to disqualify Lebron from the GOAT conversation. Skip Bayless-type bullcrap.

that's silly. Those are different circumstances. MJ stayed with the sh*tty franchise of the Bulls and waited for the team to get built. Lebron quit in Cleveland and joined an already established franchise with another top 3 player in the league at the time.

If Jordan was faced with the kind of franchise Lebron had then he would have left. Unlike Lebron who was playing for his home state, Jordan didn't even have that allegiance.
Pretending as if other greats purposely sought after dire situations to prove themselves is stupid beyond belief.
The fact is whether waiting for something to happen organically or going to make it happen yourself..it makes no difference to them in a comparison as players. The only thing that matters in that respect is whether they had help or not - and all stars did.
The argument here that is being brought up has to do with the management of the franchises and nothing to do with the player. In the end, Lebron had to wait as long as Jordan, and had to create a situation for himself where he could win because Cleveland sure as hell wasn't doing it for him - unlike the Bulls doing it for Jordan.

After what I wrote that is what you picked up? The implication often is that X player was loyal and Lebron wasn't. My point is that even if that is the gripe, then you thinking Jordan staying because he was loyal is laughable compared to the fact that Lebron was actually playing for Cleveland, in his home state. Jordan stayed because the Bulls paid him handsomely and set him up with teammates to win a championship. Cleveland didn't do the same for Lebron so the comparison is inane. The idea that Jordan would've stayed in that kind of situation is pretty stupid - Jordan was already getting tired towards the end of the period before his first title and even joked about retirement IIRC.

:wtf: , Jordan was underpaid big time for several years, and took paycuts to keep talent around him, where do u come up with this bullshit. Also he came to a shitty franchise and stayed :facepalm
Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf bought the team for less than $20 million midway through Jordan's rookie season. Through some shrewd marketing (most of which revolved around Jordan), Jordan's presence both on and off the court and a significant upgrading of the overall talent, the team in now valued at $100 million.
In his rookie season alone, Jordan revived the Chicago franchise. The Bulls' attendance was just 6,365 a game the year before Jordan arrived. In 1984-85, despite another poor record, Chicago went to 11,887. For the last four years, Chicago Stadium has been full virtually every night. Television and radio contracts have skyrocketed and advertising revenues have risen to a level that not even Reinsdorf could have hoped.
"If I wanted to be greedy, I could make a lot more money," said Jordan. "I'm not a greedy person. But I like to get paid for what I'm worth. I like to make what I deserve. But I never try to overdo it. If I really wanted to make a lot of money and spread myself thin, I could do it. I could make $15,000 or $20,000 an appearance or sign basketballs for $50 a ball.
"If I was greedy, I could do that. Or I could sit here and cry about my contract, make it a big issue. And it would be a valid argument. I don't do that. I have never griped about other people making money. Hot Rod Williams made his money? Good. He was in position to do that.
Go read the rest of the article and learn something (http://www.nba.com/jordan/hoop_phenomenon.html)

Haha, I don't mean relative to other millionaire sportsmen I mean relative to the ordinary person. He was living a life of privilege - he wasn't living at his mom's house waiting for a miracle and his team to go champs just to stay loyal to the Bulls. Regardless, he was still well-paid and made a shitload on endorsements.
The idea that Jordan was willing to stay at the Bulls even if they never gave him the right team, and continuously lose, is incredible. You do a disservice to him and his intelligence. And your own.
