View Full Version : Lebron James finally unlocked his last element: Guts

Today, Lebron James finally showed us why he is the best player in the league.

The clock was ticking, the Spaniards were fiercely catching up to the USA; James looked shocked and kept passing the ball. Disregard his unlimited stamina, Coach K sat him out for some good minutes in the fourth quarter because Lebron seemed clueless. Fortunately, the rest he had sitting on the bench finally opened his mind; he knew he is the best player and should lead this team to win a gold medal. At around the five minutes mark in the fourth quarter, Coach K subbed him in and he took off. Lebron James flew up like a superman and dunked it without mercy, and then as the clock was ticking down to 6 seconds on the shot clock, James drained a cold-blooded three. Although he then later air-balled another 3, but the GUTS to take another three despite having Kobe, CP, and Durant on your team is the last element he needed.

This year's NBA Final showed Lebron Jame's clutchness, but today's game he proved the world he is not afraid to take over despite having major superstars on the team. Yes, I'm an extremely bias Kobe fan, but I do give credits when the credits' due.

Lebron's been the best for years now.

He did the same shit vs Detroit 5 years ago as well as vs Orlando two years later.

He is definitely more confident now...as anyone would be after winning a title. But this sh*t ain't new (and if it was, it would be Indiana this game 4, Boston game 6, or the Finals with the clutch shots over Sefalosha...not this.) .

He didn't just show his clutchness in the olympics, he continued what he did in May and June. And he's making a flat out mockery of those who believed the hype that he wasn't clutch. He's now becoming the most clutch player in the whole league.

Wow. He was on the bench because he picked up his fourth foul (5 is the limit in international play).

LOL. If you seriously believed Lebron was on the bench for another reason, your bball iq is extremely low.

Seriously. It is disturbing that someone who apparently is a basketball fan had such a horrible awareness of what was happening (and what had been happening for Lebron and Team USA over the course of this whole tourney) that he thought Lebron was getting benched.

If Coach K had his way, I think he might have played Lebron all 40 minutes of every game in these Olympics.

Funny thing is people are gonna look back on him dropping 30 in a row on the Pistons, hitting the game winnng 3 on Orlando at the buzzer, totally taking over vs the Bulls 2-3 times and making big 3s, dropping like 45 and whatever it was on the Celtics in game 6, 47/12/8 on the Hawks, having like 48/10/8 vs the Magic that game they pretty much spread the floor and let him attack 9 times in a row down the stretch, the 2 game winners in his first playoffs series(one of them a travel...but it went in) when he had like 42, 45, and 38 in 3 straight games and random shots like the 3 to force OT vs the Bulls, game winners vs the Warriors, Bobcats, Pistons, Blazers, and on and on and on....

People are gonna eventually look at all this and see he had been making bigtime plays before he ever won. Kinda like how Hakeem suddenly became super clutch in the mid 90s when he had been wetting turnaround 19 footers at the buzzer, blocking game winners, ripping guards setting up key plays, and taking over with 50/25 playoff games before anyone cared.

Lebron has been the best player in the league for as much as 6 years but no less than 4.

Lebron not being clutch is gonna end up an opinion held by 32 old people who remember GIFs onthe internet in 2011 without any of the dozens of big plays he made being considered. Really...he led the NBA in 4th quarter scoring like 3 times with people saying he doesnt score in the 4th quarter.

Hes gonna end his career with a laughably long list of clutch plays and will still have a handful of people mad posting ugly post up plays from games he won in 2010 and 2 missed game winners from 2011.

Lebron has been more reliable than most superstars in the clutch or otherwise since like 2005. But now that hes won people lose the only negative thing left to be said so the rest will shine abit more in time.

1:59 93-102LeBron James made Three Point Jumper.

not so Ice Cold Clutch Game on the Line as they make it out to be.

Nice shot, YaY

James didnt make another shot as the clock ticked away.

Harden and CP3 iced the game with free throws.

So...in one post you say that:

1. 99-93 with 2 minutes remainig is not a close game

and

2. You give credit to James Harden for making free throws, despite the fact that he missed two of them, when the game was an 8 point game with 15 seconds remaining?

I mean you can hate Lebron all you want, but at least try to come with a more sound argument. And get your scores right...this is 2012 we all can go get proof when you say something false.

Yes, let's just ignore the FACT that he typically leads the league in 4th quarter scoring and run wild with one of Skip Bayless' unfounded gimmicks.

Very well said. LeBron pretty much was penalized in the past for having an inadequate supporting cast. In fact, I actually think LeBron played at a higher level in 09 and 10 than the LeBron in 11' and 12'. To put, I believe 09 or 10 to be LeBron's peak. LeBron was better all around in the regular season. That monster series he had against Orlando in 09 was incredible.

LeBron has started posting up more this year and cutting down on his long range jumpers, that's why his efficiency is through the roof. But I will still take 09' or 10' LeBron over the present LeBron.

IDK. I don't think the Lebron isn't a winner/clutch thing will just go away like it did for the once bad reputations of Magic or MJ.

For one, we have physical evidence of Lebron's bad reputation. We can still see comments on youtube from 2011 of the Lebron 4th quarter jokes and they'll be there for a while. And skip bayless's videos from 2011 are still up. And the Yahoo and ESPN and Fox and CNNSI articles are still up.

Secondly, the Lebron thing was bigger than Magic or Jordan's bad reputation...the whole country and their moms was in on it and didn't like Lebron.

So it's going to be harder for it to go away.

Did Lebron looked bouncier to anybody else in the Olympics? I haven't seen him look this explosive since he played on the Cavs, if you made a list of his 10 most athletic plays since "The Decision", at least 5 of them are from these Olympics.

That nasty and-1 dunk in the semifinals showed acceleration in the halfcourt that I haven't seen out of him in years, and he took off in the open court for a dunk with his foot outside the paint (he did that somewhat often in Cleveland, but has yet to do it once as a member of the Heat). He's just showed far more ability to blow by his man and make plays in the halfcourt in the Olympics, his drives and finishes looked far more reminiscent of '10 than '12.

Kobe/Melo nearly blew it with back to back turnovers and terrible shots. Coach K put Lebron back in the game and he scores 5 straight points to put it away.

I don't know why people get offended when a Kobe-fan is giving props to Lebron. Would you be happier if I said, " Kobe 'choked', luckily for him, Lebron carried him to a gold medal?" Just pathetic man.

you're a joke if you think lebron wasn't clutch before he even came to the heat but wouldn't be surprised since you prolly jumped the lakers bandwagon when they started winning therefore knowing nothing about basketball. And your homerism leads you to believe that kobe was better then lebron in his 2peat years. Lakers won the chip but didn't have the best player in the league and it's not debatable unless you're a homer.

Seriously, your reading comprehension level is ZERO... you have misunderstood many of my posts in the past few days and I was okay with it because I consider you as a foreigner. But c'mon, no where in my post I said he wasn't clutch. The main claim I made in this thread is that Lebron James finally got the GUTS to take over crucial game DESPITE having other SUPERSTARS(Durant,CP3, Kobe) on the team.

At Kobe being better than Lebron James during his 2peat is definitely arguable. President Obama said in 2009 that "Kobe is the best player in the world," so I guess your opinion must be more accurate and valuable than the presidents right? lol just gtfo...

Lebron was at times the ONLY unselfish player in the US team. The most valuable and solid player for the amerikans. He rarely do mistakes always try to hit the open man with a pass and when game at ties make the clutch plays.

All others Melo, Kobe and Durant try to score on every possesion. Good at least Durant hit some 3s.

And some note - Durant is already building a name for himself with USA national team. What an exceptional and proven at highest stage scorer he is. He will be never as versatile as Lebron, BUT his scoring just killing opponents.

Mr. Obama is the President, of course I value his opinions to the highest. Why else would I vote for someone who I don't care about his opinions?

I said that Kobe being the best player in 2009 is "ARGUABLE". Clearly, it's debatable but the results of the argument is solely based on one's perspective; hence, it's considered as an argument.

No where in my post I said that Lebron has never taken over a game because I watched the NBA final as well. I said he finally took over despite HAVING SUPERSTARS on the team. For instance, in 2008 Olympics game, when the game was on the line, Lebron didn't take over because he knew he could depend on other SUPERSTARS. But in this year's Olympic, he finally showed his fearless instinct; he didn't even look to make a play or to pass the ball on the last few minutes. This thread is meant to give props to Lebron, but somehow, you've managed to deviate my point.

You're OP is full of shit and you must really be a dumb bitch if you think a shit president has any value in his opinions. So you value Obama's opinions in basketball decisions over Mitch? and no kobe doesn't have an argument over lebron he's right behind him but being a laker stan probably clouds your judgement. Last but not least " Coach K sat him out for some good minutes in the fourth quarter because Lebron seemed clueless" and once again you're a dumbass bitch he picked up his 4th foul and he was placed on the bench. I'm not the only one calling out on you're retarded backhanded compliments. Go back to school retard. I'll neg you tomorrow we can't have retards like you walking around in green on ISH.

As I stated, it's arguable, go look up the stats and compare them ( especially the post-season LOL). Also, could you please link me where Mitch said Lebron is the best?

So you think stats tell the whole story? Let me guess you just take scoring and ignore the rest right :lol and lebron was sat down because he picked up his 4th foul don't know why you haven't edited that out instead of putting BS like that :coleman:

What a coincidence, Brickingstar logged out and you commented. Okay fine, stats don't tell the whole story right? The whole story in 2009 is that Kobe Bryant WON A CHAMPIONSHIP while Lebron James couldn't even make it to the FINAL! Word, my friend.
Is that what you really wanted to hear?

Besides, why would I edit out something that I believe in?

So players that win a championship are officially the best that year no matter what they contributed to their teams compared to others? I think every one needs to edit their best players of the past years list now thanks to that logic. And I'm fine if that's why you really think he was sat down but I guess you're the kind who can't accept their wrong when going against facts :yaohappy: and I've been logged on for the past few hours around OTC/football forun fukk you nikka :coleman:

wonder what the Lebron debate would be about if EsPN didn't spend half of sportscenter talking about plays where Lebron made the right basketball decision but it just didn't work out.

or if people just stopped looking anywhere on tv for any kind of basketball analysis.

seriously, is there ANYone on any of the sports networks worth listening to analyze basketball? that's an honest question, I mean it, is there? this is NBATV's biggest fail. when they replay last year's playoffs they need to get all the coaches in studio for pretaped segments at least vaguely discussion how they'd have done this or that differently, how they'd have trapped immediately on the block entry, why they gave weakside help of the screen up top and got beat (probably because the Spurs are awesome), stuff like that.

sure there aren't many active coaches that'd do it, but c'mon, you can't get like Rudy Tomjanovich, Bob Hill, Don Nelson, Larry Brown before he decided he wanted to **** some MILFs? playing old school games is great but I want some hardcore x's and o's stuff on there.

Wait a minute you just blew my mind I just went a and took your challenge on stats in 09 and 10 the same years kobe won both champs and lebron won both MVPs. LeBron is better in every statistic :lol Playoff and Reg season even in scoring and fg % only thing Kobe had on lebron was he had .3 more steal in 09 in the post season. Why did you bring up stats :lol Are trolling me :coleman:

At first you said stats don't tell the whole story and now you're implying that stats matter a lot because Lebron's stats > Kobe's. LOL man, make up your mind. Yea sure, racking up them MVPS, while Kobe getting his FMVPS...

I don't really want to make a big deal outta this. This thread is simply to show my appreciation for Lebron James, and look where it has gotten now....

I'm not going to call you a retard or a dumbass like bricking but ilm starting to see why you said last page to go look up the stas especially postsean and lebrom is better than him in every category except 09 steals by .3 so I guess youlre just a walking condradiction who doesn't think before he says something and if you think fmvp make him the. Best player of the year is year then I think you know nothing about bball go look at our histoty fmvps. Does kobe win with the cavs with those. Ball hogging stats inferior to lebron lol ? Since when was Obama considered an intellectual source on Basketball discussions?

Oscar Robertson said LeBron was in a while different league when asked to compare him to Jordan. Should we take his word for it because he played professional basketball at an extremely high level and you didn't, or does that only apply when the person who we regard highly shares the same viewpoint as you?

BrickingStar asked me how much I value Obama's opinions, so I told him, "Highly, because he's the president." Simple and plain answer.

No where in this post has anyone mentioned Oscar Robertson's comment on Lebron James until you brought it up. I didn't even know he said that until I heard it from you. By the way, I really hope Oscar Robertson said that in 2009...
