Exactly people act like Manu is a bum or something from where I see Manu is just as clutch as Paul pierce and if he went to Boston b4 kg and Allen got there it wouldn't be a big difference in their w/l totals

I'd rather have Paul Pierce... he's older now, but mostly before garnett & ray allen, Pierce was a beast. He could shoot from distance, drive the lane real tough.. I was jealous that we missed out on him and Boston got him. Dude is nasty

At their peak, it's close but I'll go with Pierce. But Ginobli's been too inconsistent due to injuries throughout his career.

As much as I hate Pierce, I'd take him because of his clutchness

Present day is close. NBA career is Pierce easily. Overall career is an interesting question, you have to give Manu a lot of credit for leading Argentina to the World Championship.

So let me get this straight.. AI in the other thread is thrashed and many say Manu is better, but then you have most here saying Pierce is ahead of Manu?:lol Newsflash AI was considered better than Pierce every year during their primes.

Don't Like PP,But he's better than Ginobli
22,000pts,NBA Championship,higher career avgs
one of the greatest celtics and longest tenured,
It's close but Pierce is clearly better

manu is a proven winner without duncan you must be dumb
Paul Pierce's team impact/leadership > anything Manu can do.
Seriously, though. You're telling me that if you had to choose one of those guys to be a leader on your team that you would choose Manu as the leader over PP? Look at the situation objectively and don't post until you do so.

For a single game give me prime Manu.
For a season give me PP, because Manu is just too injury prone.

Same for me. I think Pierce is better overall because he is better defensively but I just like the way Ginobili play, very unorthodox.

Manu is the better player.
But Pierce had the better career and should be ranked higher because his accomplishments came as the #1 option.

The correct answer is Manu.

So let me get this straight....Most people here have Manu as a better player than Pierce, yet 90% of you (idiotically) say that Pierce was the "lead dog" on the 2008 Celtics with Kevin Garnett (who finished 3rd in MVP voting in the regular season and lead the Celtics in scoring in the Playoffs, not to mention anchored their defense) on the team?
:oldlol: I swear 98% of the posts on this site are made to fit an agenda.

switch out pierce with manu before the big 3 era. i'm positive with manu being the no.1 option, he would have been much more successfully.

What do you mean a leader? Manu is a leader as well....
First option...yea I'll go with Pierce but right now I think Manu is just a better player.

If the Sixers had PP in '01, they would have had a good chance to beat that Lakers team, which is regarded as the best team of the decade. Yup, I said that.
PP would have been the scoring punch that Sixers team lacked, to take some pressure off AI. The starting forwards on that team were Tyrone Hill and Jumaine Jones. :coleman:

Manu easily. What did Pierce do before KG and Ray Ray got him a ring?
Horatio33
08-16-2012, 07:49 AM
I love the Spurs and Manu but the only answer is Pierce. Manu never been first option on his NBA team where Pierce has. Pierce stats are better, would give Manu clutch lead over Pierce but not by much. 05-06 Pierce is better than any version of Manu.
Horatio33
08-16-2012, 07:50 AM
Manu easily. What did Pierce do before KG and Ray Ray got him a ring?
What has Manu done? Second option behind Timmy?
JohnnySic
08-16-2012, 07:51 AM
Championships are a team accomplishment. Barkley, Malone, and Ewing never won titles; is Manu better than them too?
What did PP do before he had KG and Allen? How about put up 25/6/4 over the course of 10 years?
Manu is a glorified Hedo Turkoglu. I never got why he is so highly regarded. Put Manu on those early 2000's Celtics teams with Antoine Walker, Eric Willaims, Tony Battie, etc, and what would he have done?
