LOL I feel sorry for that guy slipping...Probably had a LOT to do with the shitty shoes they had back then...and if you look up pictures of their courts especially in the 50's the hardwood looks like it was used as a roller rink..in fact I think some where!

Anyways, that's not the most eye appealing thing in the world but he still has tons of other footage moving a lot quicker and being a lot fancier...Not saying hes GOAT or anything though :P...i just think he'd be great at passing and would be crafty with the ball with the new dribbling rules etc

It's stupid but that's just how it would have been called in the >50's, 60s...If your hand touched the side of the ball they would call it...It's a lame rule and I'm glad they changed it

How is a crossover a travel?
He's explained precisely how. Players were much more limited in how much leeway they were allowed in terms of putting their hand on the side of the ball. Just because something hasn't been a travel in your lifetime it doesn't mean if wasn't ever, the rules evolve.

How is a crossover a travel?

Any crossover you see today would be a carry in the early days of the NBA,

hand on side of the ball = carry, that's the reason they looked so funny dribbling the ball not because that's the only way they could dribble, but because they HAD to dribble like that or else get called for a carry.
