Personally, I think they improve record-wise and go to the 2nd round.

Depends which LeBron you put on that team.
Current,prime(08+) LeBron goes to the WCF.
03-07 LeBron takes them to a second round exit.
LeBron makes his teammates better, something Kobe has never done.

No doubt in my mind prime Lebron takes that team to the WCF. Basically would be the same kind of talent he played with in Cleveland. 06-08 Lebron goes to the 2nd round like you said.
WCF/Finals... who knows, he got to the Finals with even less to work with around him

Definitely would have beaten an Amare-less Suns team. From that point on, it would be up in the air. Lebron was a BEAST in 2006 (better in '06 than in '07 IMO).

If you look at Kobe's teammates in 2006 they all shot well above career averages in FG% that year. Kobe was underrated at making teammates better back then. Luke Walton a career fringe rotation guy was the third best player on that team. They relied heavily on Kwame Brown, nuff said. Kobe was phenomenal that year.

Big Z didn't even have the stamina to play big mins in 4th quarters. He was routinely benched for Varejao in crunch time. And I disagree about Odom. If Lebron can work with Wade, he can worth with just about anyone. Rondo would be a tough sell though. They wouldn't work at all.

Lost to the Clippers. LeBron would have went off but gritty Singleton and high IQ Ross would have done work. Cassell would have killed Smush and Mobley would have his way at the two. That isn't including with Chris and Elton would have done to Kwame, Mihm and Lamar.

Wade has good off the ball movement and is fairly consistent.
I see high pick and roll being a decent option maye a more definite passing game with Luke in there , but nothing corset functional.
Z was a pretty good rim protector and he had a pretty good offensive game and grabbed boards to boot.
And most importantly he was consistent with all that lol.

He put up 17ppg on like 44% shooting on a team that won 17 games. 1999 was prime Big Z. He was still atheltic and could handle the ball some and more efficient. He had serious foot injury problems early in his career.

And of course the Big Euro guy who had better stat line and causes much more impact on Defense gets out credit by a 6th Man of the year who never reached his Full Potential due to his lack of Discipline.

What do Blake and Paul have to do with this thread or the 06 Clippers again.....
Clippers would let LeBron get his, clog the paint as the Lakers best shooters were Sasha and Smush, pound it in to Brand/Kaman/Rebraca with Vlad, Cat and Sam hitting open looks. Then throw in the D and hustle of Ross & Singleton and Maggs ability to get to the line.
But of course, LeBron that year would have done way better than Kobe of that year because of Blake and Paul

Clippers would have sent LeBron crying to his momma in 6. Unless West, or probably Sasha Vujacic in this case, was banging her, then she'd ignore him as well.

Hypothetical situation threads rarely churn out even a single good post.

That crap isn't beating the Suns. First round exist at best. They would actually do worst because LeBron isn't the type to score more than pass, and that team requires a lot of scoring. Plus, we all know Marion would toy with LeBron. LeBron would get to play 1 vs. 3 every night. No one pays any attention to the other guys. LeBron is lucky on the heats because he has other stars so he can go one on one.

that may be so but Big Z/Varejao and Drew Gooden/Marshall was a far better front court than Kwame/Mihm and Odom/Cook. Far Better.
Wait, Lebron makes teammates better HOW exactly?
Every single player that plays with Lebron has worse numbers than before they joined him.
I remember posting about this once, i remember not finding a single player has put up significantly better numbers playing with Lebron than not.
Not even MO WILLIAMS.
Mo Williams in 08 on the Bucks... 17.2ppg on 48% FG, 3.5rpg, 6.3apg
Mo Williams in 09 playing w/ Lebron.... 17.8ppg, 47% FG%, 3.4rpg, 4.1apg.
In fact, I would say that playing with Lebron made Mo Williams worse.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/willima01.html
After playing with Lebron, Mo Williams went from taking MAX 3.5 3's per game to probably around 5 3FGA's per game.
Lebron basically turned him into a shooter because that's what he needed.
Meanwhile... Smush, Kwame (debatable), Cook, Mihm, Ariza, Odom, Pau, and even Sessions had either their best or one of their best seasons while they were playing with Kobe.
