LA Metro is a huge area. If you mean the actual City of Los Angeles though I would say no.

Wouldn't want to due to the cost of living, pollution, bad water, etc but ironically, would need to due to job.

There are differences, but I've lived in a city with horrible traffic and sprawl called Atlanta and I enjoyed the city very much. I try to focus on the good in my area and enjoy that, but each major city has advantages over others. There are things in Toronto that simply don't compare to Atlanta, so I'm sure there are things in LA that would blow my mind.
I've always been told LA is one of those cities that is quite flat but simply covers a huge area. I prefer the other type of big city: those built towards the sky.

So you're more of a New York/ Hong Kong guy?
I love looking at impressive skylines as well, but varying landscapes and sprawl appeal to me as well. I guess I'm easy to please.

My only real issue with living there is the pollution. I also don't like sales tax.

I'm not a huge fan of big cities, but I've never experienced Los Angeles in person before, so it's tough to say.
I'm not a big fan of places where you need to drive everywhere (you need a newspaper or a coke, where's the car) and the traffic drives me nuts over there. The weather is godly though.

Never been to LA except one time when I drove through, but I definitely like cities where you can get stuff done by just walking. I was Las Vegas once and wanted to walk around and the strip, of course, is horrible for that. However, once I got to the old, downtown part of Vegas I felt myself get way more comfortable, I realized I got way less tense.
However, my understanding of LA is that it has changed in the last 10-15 years to the point where you can find some of the cool aspects of NYC there which for me is pockets of a highly literate population and cool music. My understanding is that LA has become much less plastic in the last few years.
Also as a film geek, I'm sure there would be lots of stuff to do.

I live a 15 min train ride from NYC, and let me tell you guys. Big city life is not for everyone. I love it because I have a few days off and can enjoy some of its non-nightlife extremities. I can spend half the day in central park just walking and talking. You can walk all day actually and not realize you haven't seen anything yet. To top it off, you can take the train everywhere so you don't have to worry about parking or traffic. If LA is anything like that, than sure I would love to live there. Although it's true, NYC cost of living IS very high.

Not LA but I would like to visit "Willow Creek" it's a small mountain town in Northern Cal that has Bigfoot themed restaurants and businesses.

I wouldn't want to live in LA because it is in a region that is seeing the largest population growth in North America while experiencing a sustain drought for a number of years. Heck, the water and energy concerns of the region are far too troubling yet people continue to flock to a city located in a arid climate with depleting water supply.

Every city has its more affluent, desirable areas, and every city has its shitty, unappealing areas, and Los Angeles is no different.
I'd enjoy living there, but only if I had enough money to live in the more prosperous areas. The culture, the nightlife, the climate, the scenery, the bitches.... what's not to like?
Of course, there is that cloud of smog that seems to have permanently coated the air around the city, but I've heard that LA is taking significant strides toward reducing the level of pollution.

I love it, and the only place I'd consider other than here might be Hawaii. You pretty much have everything you could want here. Living in Orange County is a pretty great compromise if you don't like the city. 30 minutes closer to Vegas, less crime, 15 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from downtown LA, 1 hour from snowboarding, 2 hours from SD and Mexico. Also no cloud of smog and you've got Disneyland right in the middle of it all. Hot women from all around the world move down here to breed. Great major sports outside of football, great college sports. Oh yeah, the weather is pretty spectacular as well. Man, if you like the outdoors, the california coast only three hours north is one the most beautiful in the world.
Yeah the scummy parts are bad, but it sucks to be poor anywhere doesn't it? The traffic? It's the worst thing ever but you learn to deal.

I love great "walking" cities with a great public transportation system like NYC and San Fran.
That said, I also loved the vibe of LA, even though it is a different kind of city.

I've lived close to LA my entire life. I love SoCal, so yes, I'd be willing to live in LA, but I suppose it'd really depend on the part of LA we're referring to. If it's West LA (Beverly Hills, Hollywood area), no doubt I would; however, if it's East LA? Nope.

Nice pics. L.A.'s got a lot going for it: great sports teams (as long as you don't like football), nice weather, great food, hot chicks, etc. Like any huge city it's gonna have a seedy underbelly. I love visiting the West coast but I'm just much more comfortable living on the East coast. I don't know why really.
