And LOL at Nate being one of those overactive overinvolved dads that doesn't take into consideration the other parents and the other kids he just laid out. :oldlol: But I guess to his credit at least he's involved.

That's ****ing disgusting. It's adults **** fighting with their kids. There's a 6 year old laid out on the ground and Nate and others are hooting and hollering. They're teaching their kid how to live life in the NFL or prison. That shit doesn't fly anywhere else. Meanwhile a ****ing toddler is laid out on the ground and he don't give a shit cause his 6 year old pit bull put him there.
I seriously think he shouldn't be allowed to raise a child.

You have no idea how disgusting I find that. And I'm not "that" parent. My kid plays sports. I'm not PC guy. I seriously think Nate should be reported somewhere. Adults that act like that should NOT be in charge of children's sports for that age.

There's a SIX year old laying on the ground hurt and adults are hooting and hollering. That's not tough, that's bad parenting.
There's a huge difference between the "everyone gets a trophy" mindset that needs to do, and how to teach sports and life to a SIX YEAR OLD.
Go to 1st grade and go look at kids that age without helmets on. You know what they want to do? Watch Thomas the Train and write letters poorly cause they're just getting the hang of writing. Notice the kid finds no joy in laying out another kid that's laying on the ground with one adult trying to help him out. It's the disgusting parents that are all up about it. That's sick. Grow up idiot.

I'm a moron because I don't want to separate a father and son over football practice.
For all you know, the kid could have just been a little discouraged and throwing a hissy fit.

And you're a complete moron. You wrote, " because I don't want to separate a father and son over football practice". But that's not the issue. The issue is the father and other laughing it up over a big hit between 6 year olds. If that was the coach doing that he would be removed from most youth leagues in this country. There's a million things in this world that a father can get excited about with his son that don't involve hurting other children and celebrating knocking them to the ground (possibly leading with the helmet).
Why are 6 year olds hitting each other like that? These kids are in kindergarten or 1st grade for crying out loud. Adults shouldn't be encouraging or allowing that type of "practice" for children that young. You have to let them get a little older for that.

As a parent, I found that video fairly disturbing.
Celebrating for your kid when he succeeds is one thing. Celebrating for your kid while another kid is lying on the ground in pain from what your kid just did to him is something else entirely. Notice how the kid is nowhere near as excited as the parents.

If they dressed and acted like adults and parents, the term "ghetto" wouldn't leap out at me. But they don't, so it did. Not my fault. They were acting like teenagers. He was teaching his son to lay another kid out. Not to make a good tackle and then be a good sportsman and help the other kid up and see if he's okay. Just lay him out and then run around hooting and hollaring and acting like you've won the Super Bowl at a pee wee football practice while saying "We got that on camera! We got that on camera!".That's someone's dad. That's a "parent". That's an "adult". But, nah, he's not the slightest bit ghetto.

Either you find a flag football league, or you wait until you are comfortable putting your kid out there. There is always a risk for injury, it's football.
There's no need for all of the incessant whining in this thread.
He chose to put his kid in that kind of sporting realm, his kid is excelling, he's happy for him.
I just find the points everyone is making in this thread extremely b*tchmade to be honest.
There's a way to make a point without sounding like you're crying while typing or being extremely petty. I've seen football coaches wear all kind of different things, I don't usually judge them or their camp off their attire.

Please  the only position that has to do any real thinking is the quarterback and by the end of their playing career QB's have been crushed so much they can barely remember their own name. But this is AMURRIKAH WHERE WE DRINK LOTS OF BEER AND JES' LUVS OUR FOOTBALL DOE! YIPPY KI YAY AMURRIKAH WHERE WE GOTS DA FREEDOM TA PLAY FOOTBALL DOE LIKE REAL MEN DOE! :facepalm
Not really true. There's a ton of scheming and strategy involved in football. Remember, those players have to be in the right position in order to beat the shit out of each other. If a football player (at any position) isn't thinking, he's probably gonna **** up. It's important to be instinctive, but there's a difference between being instinctive and not thinking. And if there's no thinking involved, then why do the players get these giant playbooks that they have to memorize?
I haven't even scratched the surface yet either. Football is the most complex and strategical sport there is.

Man, people getting political up in here or what ?
Both kids knew what they signed up for and I can see why parents would get excited over things like a tackle. I know a mom who likes when her kid stands up for himself and doesn't let anybody bully him in the playground (he's 7 now). Football is a sport where you have to be tough and sometimes you got get your licks in.
Also, Football isn't just all brawn. Don't know where people are getting that from.

I'm not a parent, but I played football. I love giving and seeing big hits. I would probably get excited if my kid was able to deliver a hit like that as well. It's seriously not that serious.
Then again, me on any type of upper still wouldn't go off like he did. I'd probably high five the kid and maybe give him some pointers.

lol yeah that's good parenting right there.
If you don't want your kid to get hit, don't let him play football.
It's not about getting hit. Do I think 6 is too young for football like that? Yes. I do. But I'm not a soapbox type of guy. If other people want their kids to play, sure.
That's a line drill that 6 year old's shouldn't be doing. That I will say. I don't like that at all. 6 year olds are not 16 year olds. Teaching them to just line up and hit someone, that's creepy.
However, here's the issue. A 6 year old is a parrot to their authority figures. To say they are impressionable is a vast understatement. What Nate's kid learned there is laying out another kid is a way to get your elders to respect you and show fondness for you. He is being taught there is no regard for the other person. The 6 year old learned that if you get laid out authority figures will have laughs at your expensive and the person that laid you out will be praised.
Now, you might say, "So, that's football". No. That's not football. That's *everything* because they are 6 and they do not separate lessons at that age very well. Playing youth soccer at that age they are barely able to form anything close to resembling a game and the lessens they are taught apply to everywhere in life. Sharing. Team building. Trusting teammates. And the lessons they've learned from elsewhere in life apply to how they act on the field or in practice. They are 6. That's why this is disgusting. What the adults are doing in that video is sick plain and simple.

I'm not thrilled with 6 year olds doing tackling drills. I do think it's too young. My issue however is with the action of the adults in the video and what lessons they are imparting on the children in the video. I love football and played it all through school and and glued to TV Sat and Sun and Mon night and Thur night during football season and watch the games with my kid.
Pitching inside is part of baseball. Imagine a 6 year old beaning another kid on purpose and an adult screaming "yeah buster that's how you do it. yeah that's my boy"..and the kid that got hit is just laying on the ground dazed.
I pretty much believe everyone that's OK with this A) doesn't have kids B) has no idea about raising a child and C) has no understanding about the development and mindset of a 6 year old
Cause this video is sad.

It's sports, parents know the risk and so do kids pretty early on. Whether you're 16 or 8 you run the same risk of life altering injuries ( Considering the power of tackles increases with the age group you're playing against).
I think without knowing this was Ish, just by looking at the responses you could tell this obviously wasn't a football forum. On a football forum they'd be complaning about the kids not learning how to tackle correctly. People on ISh constantly say they've commited to having their little kids start playing basketball as early as humanely possible. Why? The hopes that if they start young they'll become outstanding ball players. I see it the same way for people trying to involve their children in football at an early age. Obviously some parents want to wait, but there's always those hardcore football fans who want to see their children get an edge in the sport really early on.
That's why I say that people have a problem with football, because if these were a couple kids(same age) going through basketball drills, and one of them kept getting bodied in the paint to the point where they fell down ISH wouldn't have a problem with that because we're a basketball forum who condones the idea of getting kids playing basketball as early as possible. The football community probally would treat this video the same way we'd treat a video of two kids playing competitive drills against each other in basketball. The difference? Football is more physical by nature.

I think you also have to understand that there's a difference between being excited about your child commiting a flagrent foul, or an intentional bad pitch, compared to cheering your child making a good tackle. The first two are looked down on in their individual sports, whiles a tackle is a major part of football.

I didn't know there was a single place on the internet, that wasn't European in majority, that disliked football this much.
1) Yes, the parents (mainly Nate Robinson) acted like a retard. Yes, he should have just hit his son with a good job and not acted like a monkey. But it's his kid, his kid just had the "highlight" of the whole practice, he got carried away. As someone said, have any of you watched a soccer game of the same aged kids? Moms go insane everytime their kid touches the ball.
2) It's football, the parents signed their kid up for football. If you don't like 6 year olds playing football, don't sign them up, but there are plenty of people that do. When I was 6 I would have loved to play tackle football instead of flag. I'm sure the majority of kids out there are not against playing or they wouldn't be there either.
3) His tackling form was poor, but how are you going to teach a 6 year old kid to lead with his shoulder, keep his head up while bending down, and wrap up. You're doing good if a 6 year old remember ONE of thos things, let alone doing it while running at full speed.
4) The tackling drill, if that team doesnt do it, when they play a game against another team who has done it, guess who will have a kid laying on their back every single time. I remember playing football my first year, I was 9 years old playing against 11 and 12 year olds. My first contact practice had me running up to guys, trying to hug them and throw them down. Shortly I realized (after getting run over multiple times) that it won't work if someone else isn't going to slow down for me so they don't hurt me. At 9 years old, and the whole team of 11 and 12 year olds, no one learned proper tackling form like you see in college/NFL or even some highschools. It's not an easy skill to learn.
In popwarner/peewee/whatever you're kids league is called, there are two kinds of players. The kid that plays like the nice little kid that wants to gently grab someone or push someone and the kid that is actually playing football. I'm sorry, but go out and try to be the former at any age group, if you have any self respect or are competitive even the smallest bit you will no longer be the former.
5) Someone said sport at that age aren't for keeping score/playing just for having fun. I completely beg to differ, I hated the fact that no one won or did better when I was young in sports. So much in fact, that after each game in any sport I ran over to my grandpa who kept scores and stats of everything he could. Shortly after I started this, my WHOLE team in every sport did the same. Even after a while a few kids I knew from other teams would join. Sports without a score/competitiveness is no longer a sport, it's an activity and there is place for such, just not at the same place and time as a sport.
6) None of this means that Nate Robinson was correct, the whole post was for the anti football comments ITT. Nate needs to teach his kid good sportsmanship and in that aspect he is failing as a parent, as is the ghetto looking coach.

It's not so much of the game of football because that's a whole new different topic because I think kids shouldn't be playing it at a young age.
It's more of good or bad parenting. Obviously these guys that are jumping up and down like monkeys shouldn't be teaching young kids how to play football because of how they are acting. It's in bad taste and bad parenting to cheer for a hit like that when the kid is their hurt.
You can say that the parents should know what they are getting their kids into but you don't cheer for a kid getting hurt. The son looked shocked at times and probably was scared that the other kid was laying there hurt.

How are you going to teach a 6 year old a proper tackle? The same way you teach them anything else. By attempting step by step to show them and KEEP showing them til they get it right; they have YEARS to practice it. Don't have your son run neck first into another kid full force. Everyone knows football "Padding" and Helmets are a joke and only do enough good to keep your head from cracking on someone else's head.
A grown mans brain is literally like Jell-o sitting inside a bone case. Grown men get concussions regularly in contact sport. A 6 year olds brain is like Silly putty inside bone that isn't even fully developed yet.
These kids are knocking their IQ's straight out their brains. And slowing their body development. 6 year olds only focus in any sport should be fundamental technique, rules, teamwork, and nutrition to grow strong enough to be able to do all those things later on. lol
But it's not my son lmao. They're just making it easier for my kids to dominate them

If you can teach your son proper tackling technique, and I mean proper, then he is smarter than the majority of football players below the level of D1 football...
It would ungodly hard to teach a 6 year old proper tackling form, not that you shouldn't try but it's near impossible.
Using this situation, you're going to say "Good hit but next time do ...." and kid will be just look at you dumbfounded because he just did good. You can try reasoning and tell him why, but again in his mind he just did good.

Yea true. You run into that problem a lot with young athletes though. Even in simple things like shooting form. You tell them something and they don't get it, but you keep telling them until it beats into their head year after year. He's gonna keep doing it wrong, but you want him to at least know in his head "Hey I got it, but I gotta work on it because Dad/Coach doesn't like it enough"
Eventually that 6 year old that couldn't shoot or tackle properly puts it all together when he's 12. He takes that fundamental he has and he becomes the biggest hitter on the squad, or the kid with the longest range on his jumper.
If you look the first tackle attempt was decent, he wrapped him up and led with his shoulder. He got pushed off because he didn't drive through with his knee. You can't expect a kid to know about leverage and the power that their lower body has. A good coach would take that first hit and be like "Ok good. Again. Again. Again. Now try to do so and so with your knee." Lol
Nate was just like "f*** it run at him full force" His son goes head first two times into that other kid. Now he thinks that's option 1 on how you tackle. And wrapping up/leading with your shoulder is option 2.

I'm just saying that could have easily happened, meanwhile Nate is laughing it up like a jackal in the background.

You're crying over ONE racist thread that you conveniently provide no proof of?:lol
People make fun of Eddy Curry,Kwame Brown, Tyson Chandler quite often here as well. Not everything is racial bro.
You are the one who brought race into this. I personally don't care either way because race is a retarded construct that only brings humor to me, but you'll notice that the slightest jokes/criticism of a black person on here will get you an immediate ban-not the same with insults of whites and asian though, oddly enough.

The kid could be dying too, right?

I merely commented on the subversive racism apparent in this thread and multiple others on this site.
Holy shit, this guy is an ape. Laughing about hurting a 6 year old.
Why did you describe Nate as an ape again? Are you telling me that had nothing to do with race?
I didn't know there was a single place on the internet, that wasn't European in majority, that disliked football this much.
1) Yes, the parents (mainly Nate Robinson) acted like a retard. Yes, he should have just hit his son with a good job and not acted like a monkey.
and why did this person say he acted like a monkey?
We all know the answer.

I called him an ape because he's jumping up and down and making loud incoherent sounds like one.
I am assuming you are black because you are incapable of putting forth a logical, cogent analysis and instead rely on the race card and ad hominems for your argument.

You saw a kid on the ground for like two seconds and you assume he's hurt.
He's down for at least 10 seconds with no signs that's he's about to get up.
That's not the point though. You don't cheer wildly until you're sure he's not hurt.

kinda finding this weird to be posted here....
I'm not trying to be a douche, I'm just saying this to help you out in future life situations:
do you really want to be that guy?

A least ten seconds is a ridiculous accusation. The tackle occurs when there is about 10 seconds left in the video so how is he down for at least ten seconds?
He could be hurt, he could be dying or he could just have the wind knocked out of him and regroup, which happens a lot.
I just think criticizing someone over shit you assume is stupid. You don't even know if Nate saw that the kid was still on the ground. there are so many variables at play, yet I am threatened and disparaged because I am not quick to declare that Nate is a horrible parent and human being.

That kid was hitting like a p*ssy. They need to work them little lazy bastards harder. Teach em some work ethic!

He goes down with 10 seconds left in the video. 10 seconds go by and he's still not up. The video ends. Hence "at least 10 seconds"
I'm not assuming anything. We know he was down for 10 seconds, and unless he pops up within one second after the camera cuts, he's down longer than that.
