View Full Version : Will the Pacers trade Lance Stephenson?
Despite his talent it looks like he is the odd man out in their lineup/roster as the Pacers don't have any role to offer him, with 16 guaranteed contracts it looks like he is gone.
They had been using him as a SG with hope of becoming a PG but aborted that idea. They have 3 PG's now(4 if you count George Hill), drafted a SG in Orlando Johnson, and spent $10 Million to sign Gerald Green as their backup SG/SF.
Not to mention his biggest supporter was Larry Bird and he's no longer with the Front Office so he can't advocate for him any longer.

Funny because I think it proves the league is headed in a good direction, away from the gangster/ immature/ just stupid kids because this guy has tons of talent, but got drafted in the 2nd round because of his attitude. A few years ago GMs were looking over stuff like this and we saw a bunch of busts because of it. Seems like the NBA's improving to me.

He's the backup 2 until he loses the job. Vogel said so. And they don't have 16 guaranteed contracts. Ahearn, Young, and Gaines are all camp contracts more or less.
He's also scored in double figures twice in his career.

He was great during Summer League... just can't play well unless he's the man.

If he's so good than why is he always the last guy or the odd man out. Something isn't right. Maybe he can get another chance somewhere else. The Kings are loaded with retards he could fit there..the Wizards maybe.

Young & Gaines are guaranteed. Ahearn is a partial guarantee at the moment due to his lack of NBA experience.
So is Gerald Green the backup SF?
I really want Born Ready to succeed because he has the talent to become one of the better SG's in the NBA and he shows it when given the chance. Seems obvious Indiana may not be the team for him to do it on.
He shouldn't have even been drafted.

What is your point on this?:confusedshrug:
If you knew the history on both players you'd realize there is a huge difference in their situations and talent for the NBA.

Should go to Euroleague and become the GOAT. Dexter Pittman too, they should go and play together in some Euroleague team and become the new Kobe and Shaq.

Lance Stephenson's dumb ass would easily be the best talent in that league

whats the pacers payroll like? I know Hibbert and George are prob going to be max players (if they are not already) plus West and Scola are also pretty expensive. Can they afford to keep this team together or will it go the way of OKC? Will this be Pacers best chance this year for a championship?

Lance Stephenson is still a disappointment considering the hype he got going into college. He is a great role player but those weren't the expectations anyone had for him. What do you see his ceiling as being?

Not sure how he's a disappointment, guy is in the running for most improved player. Also, this is the first time he's had consistent minutes and a coach who stuck with him and he's producing. He's one of the best all around players in the NBA. As far as his ceiling...I feel he can be an 17-18ppg, 7-8reb, 5-6 assists with good defense and being a playmaker. Also shooting a good percentage from 3.

No, he is their sparkplug and one of Bird's projects, and here's to hoping he will sign at a discount they they can keep him.
