Should howard's injury be a worrying sign for the lakers?
He was out since April, it will near a 6 month injury.

It's a back injury. Those type of injuries easily become chronic and often players are never the same. If I were Howard, I would not rush it. Even if you miss half of the season.

Nope.. Even w/o Howard, our team is capable of winning 55+ but we still need him healthy in the playoff tho.. With out Howard our chance of winning the titles is pretty low.. With healthy Howard, it will guarantee 6th rings for our Great Lord Mamba that will make him the GOAT..

With addition of jamison and nash!! Hill and others!! I believe the Lakers can still win the title!! Howard just makes easier!! Or if kobe was out Howard in even better chance!! Yes I said that!!!!

You do realize they had a doctor check him prior to the trade right?

Yeah, do people not realize that the Lakers are basically investing 20 million dollars and the future of their franchise in him? The Buss family and Mitch arn't dumb...I'm sure that they did everything possible to make sure when he comes back he'll still be Dwight.

let's hope he is "dwight" of old for comeptition sake...that surgery is pretty serious and can take away range of motion. all depends on his recovery i guess...i'm thinking his 12ft dunking capabilities are out the window now :(

I would be VERY surprised if he doesn't start the first game of the regular season...

Nothing to worry about. He will be 110% healthy by opening day. He's Superman.

I would be worried. I'd be worried about the injury status of the whole team throughout the year. Oldddddd

He'll be cleared probably some time in the next 2 - 3 weeks..which means he'll be 100%

I once injured my back. I was in bed unable to move at all for like 3 days, then walked on crutches. Iced it a lots. Completely healed, and my eye white became whiter. Of course Howard's was worse. My point is that rest is amazing. So much fear as I laid there.

I hope the injury cause the Lakers' failure to get to the finals this season.

I'm sure he won't be back unless he's 100%. Missing a couple dozens of regular season games ain't a big deal.

LOL @ this clown Reigny.

I gave Bron shit for leaving Cleveland - by doing that he pretty much won't be the GOAT SF.

But he has always been better than Kobe since his rookie year.

What pain?

I am clearly:
1. Not a heat fan
2. Not a lebron fan but considers him better than kobe

Reigny is clearly a Kobetard who's

 this guy is

Don't be mad fool, you should be thankful that Stern is backing your favorite. team.

Of course if the team implodes for whatever reason (kobe chucking and choking, howard's injury or the basketball gods finally got enough of stern's preferential treatment just to name 3 possibilities), good unbiased basketball fans will all rejoice and laugh while you cry with your Kobe doll.

The only people worried about Howard were the FAKE Heat fan ISH doctors, who were delusional enough to actually think reasonable NBA fans were going to take their hater opinion, over the opinion of the doctor who actually performed the surgery.:facepalm

Well on the local radio they said the type of back injury he has isn't the type that significantly increases the chance of re-occurrence. Basically a small leak from one of the disks where they had to scrape out the part that leaked out and let scar tissue form. It's never good to do back surgery but it's not like a severely damaged disk or fractures in the bones in his back.
