How is this Possible? How does that Scrub from the 60s school a legend like magic Johnson who would unquestionably dominate today? Check this video out on NBA.com

http://www.nba.com/video/channels/nba_tv/2012/04/14/20120414_brown_magic_wilt.nba/index.html

I mean sure he's at Vspan shape here at an older age considering all the superfoods they had developed at this time

I guess those are good improvements for a Scrub center who was built like a giant Scottie Pippen with a longer wingspan than yao

Wilt also said he'd never seen anyone better than Magic. Brown's been known for talking out of his a$$.

The guy sitting right next to him, was in that game and not once did he show any body language ques Brown was talking out of his ass. he agreed with him . Unless hes got major skills in concealing micro expressions, body language etc i would of spotted it.

Not saying you're lying but is that true? Where did you see that? I remember hearing Wilt say if he had to make a team and chose a point guard he'd choose stockton over magic (but I doubt he meant he though Stock was better, maybe just fit the team he was envisioning more)

wilt did goal tend allot

he is afterall... the reason they invented goal tending

imagine him in a pickup game without refs.. i'd take magics word for it.

and no one ever says wilts a scrub. people say most of the guys from the 60's wouldnt translate well into todays nba... wilt however could easly fit in because the center position doesnt depend nearly as much on skills or stratigy, systems... its mainly just about being long, tall, quick and have a sense for rebounding. not much has changed since the 60's as far as a guy like wilt compared to the centers of today...

i believe a prime wilt would easly be the best center in todays game. but he wouldnt be averaging anything near 50ppg or dropping 100

he'd get around what shaq got in his prime... 28-29ppg and 14-15rpg

wilts problem was never production. its always been heart and killer instinct. hes a career choker that lost at home against a retiring bill russell... then lost 2 more times with jerry west and gail goodrich to the new york knicks and a 1 time to a crippled willis reed... just a big short comer and not nearly as great as jordan, russell, kareem or magic are all time

kobe realistically is also ahead of wilt all time. much more accomplished. wilt gets a free pass for everything much the same way oscar robertson does because of overwhelming statistics... but stats were inflated back in the day. which makes their only real advantage void and worthless in todays comparison.

Although I dont agree with you on everything you at least seem sensible...A decent amount of people do sy he'd be a scrub...they either dont know a thing or trolling. IMO he could average as high as 35 maybe 37 points per IF his team needed him to...But, like in any era that usually doesn't work. So with a coach he respected (phil?) I could easily see him anchoring a team Getting a great deal of Assists (5-6 average...7-8 peak...assist numbers are inflated today compared to then...it only counted as an assist of the persons shooting took no steps...thats why only 2 people averaged over 10 APG back then) 3-4 blocks and about 15-16 RPG...Just my opinion though, which is worth no more than anyone else's

just to mention, they already had defensive goaltending, and offensive before he came into the league

you wouldnt know it going by most wilt highlights that i've seen

seems as though there was goaltending. but not nearly as strict as today. i think allot of wilts blocks came after the apex of the shots

Well, for starter you post too many threads about Wilt. Maybe you should try to enjoy today's game more instead of looking back?

To be able to put todays players into perspective, I've decided to learn as much as I can about every era of basketball. Right now, as it has been for some time now my main focus is learning about the 50's, 60's and 70's while propping up the stars who I think need to be looked at in the proper context. Although I do post about Wilt, I also constantly link to guys like Jerry, Oscar, Baylor etc.

Although I love todays game (Bulls / Laker fan) I have a hard time respecting it as much as I do prior generations because of rule changes "whimping" up the league. Hurting the effectiveness of big men, while opening up the game for little guys to make it more flashy. Rules being called differently like palming opening up new moves for players, making fans today not be able to look at years before and realize that it wasnt skill, rather rules...I prefer the rough style of 80's, 70s, 60s and so on compaired to an era where shit like this happens

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktJ8S-PJGEQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhn3LJum3mg

But I do watch this era...I just post about what I like.

at nearly 50 years old? Someone with the IQ of a *****n sandwich would be able to own Magic now let alone nearly 10 years or more than after retirement....riiiiiiiiiiiiight haha

I'm not gonna tell you how to go about your business but if I had some advice it would be:

*On the topic of Wilt - less quantity and more quality, I mean a lot less quantity - he's an ongoing gag, your keeping him that way esp posting crazy gifs and troll titles throughout frequent threads and thread bumps

*And: don't always post about Wilt, or you'll just be Jlauber / Pauk / Euroleague. A fan who means well talking about their idol but ends up turning perhaps thousands of could-be fans off because of being so inadvertantly annoying via too much persistence. I'm not saying your on their level - but you could become that way if your not more aware of how often and how well your posting about your favorite player - don't forget to forget about Wilt... and talk about basketball - this isn't a Wilt Chamberlain forum, it's a basketball one

Not that I have much room to talk I'm no perfect poster - but particularly on the subject of Wilt - you could damage his reputation further if your not careful what / how often you post about him

Thanks for the advice, I really don't give a damn what people think....But I'd rather not annoy them when I do post something. Wilt and Jordan being my favorite players I'd rather not make him look like a joke on the board...Having Asperger's makes me really one track minded sometimes LOL

Ohhhhhh, if you have Aspergers I think I understand you a little better now - I have a Sister that has it and she has her own little quirks - it's hard to tell if someone has Aspergers unless they say so - well i'll try to be less concerned with things you say then - but yah if you just try to be a little more varied in topics of player or team discussions or w/e it may help your fav player have better reputation - people can get turned off by "too much" exposure of 1 thing or another

Yeah it's not as bad as some have it, you can't tell from just talking to me. Some learn to disguise it better then others I guess...I was diagnosed a long time ago but they gave me the option to not put it on my record because of the limitations that come with it...Sure I could get disability benefits, but I'm more than capable of doing it on my own I don't want any handouts.
