Here you can discuss the My Career mode from NBA 2K13.

Talk about your player's abilities. Are you a scrub? Are you a solid role-player, or are you a superstar? Talk about what team you were drafted to, how your season is going. Maybe you're going to demand a trade?

This is most certainly the most popular mode in the NBA 2K series, so hopefully we'll hear some interesting stuff from you guys.

Did my Scoring PG first. Got 15/10/4 in the showcase, drafted 11th to the Blazers. Not sure if I want to play with this, but I might re-do it once or twice to see what's up. Would love to be 10th for the Hornets. It seems like almost every team in the league has a great franchise PG or a developing one that's still got potential. Ehh we'll see.

Is scoring the best play type? You basically get an 80 midrange and 3 point rating right off the bat. Speed at 81 isn't bad either.

My first character is a 6'9" 3-point shooting SF named Ricky "Rain Man" Raynes. Got drafted to my Warriors at #7. Played about 10 games so far off the bench. Used all my VC on Dead-Eye Skill and Offensive Awareness so far.

Tip; When you first start MyPlayer, adjust the game duration to 12 min play and simulation. This makes it easier to achieve your goals and get lots of VC despite only playing limited minutes off the bench. As soon as I get upgraded to 6th man or starter, I reduce the game duration to 9 min, and once I'm a full time starter I bring it down to 6 minutes.

Okay last year I loved making dominant centers. This year it sucks. Teammates feed you the ball less and you get penalized for everything. My biggest complaint about this mode though is the lack of minutes/opportunity. After 3 seasons I'm still a 12 minute bench player on my SG despite the fact that whenever I play the key games I absolutely DOMINATE.

Hmmm.. Scoring and Athletic are the best starters. Athletic has improved this year due to physics scoring at the rim but still it's hard to finish a lot of times. Scoring has been the best for me because as you said you can dominate just by hitting 3's and midrange jumpers.

I like athletic on all of them. Mostly because it costs more points to upgrade those attributes (I think). Saves me some money.

Speed difference between Scoring and Athletic PGs is 7 points I think. Ehh I'd rather be able to be effective right away and develop my speed as I go along. Not having a solid jumper to start sucks.

Man it's too many damn games otherwise! I play 6 minute quarters too so not easy for me to build points. Wonder if I do just a few games with 12 minute quarters in a row to get starter, then sim rest?

Do you still get bumped/pushed around constantly when trying to navigate around the court?

Does the computer still have magnetic box outs that you can't escape from?

Do little guys still jump over big guys for rebounds?

Um that kind of stuff is a lot better in the 36 hours I've had it.

why not take your time and play every game ? its so ****ing fun.

My 3 point specialist PG never misses a jumpshot(unless its off the dribble). Had 26/8 in the showcase, got drafted by the Warriors and getting 20+ points every time in about 12 minutes worth of PT. The handles are also sick on here, made Austin Rivers fall in the showcase game, too nasty. The Raptors wanted me, but I told them YOLO and I wanted to win games,

SG 3 Point Specialist got drafted at 12 by the Rockets. Got asked if I was comfortable playing at SF because Kevin Martin is their guy, and I thought I answered that I wasn't comfortable with it, but then my player said he'd adjust to it so he could play for the Rockets. Not what I wanted at all.

Nothing wrong with Houston, but I played for them a lot with some of my 2K12 players, wanted something new and fresh.

This isn't the player I'll continue with though seeing as the rosters will be updated on the weekend, this is just a trying the mode out kinda thing.

What's the best way to rack up VC outside of My Career? Does it have to be online games and My Team games or can you get them by playing Association an Quick Play, too?

Just went ahead and started one with a 3PT specialists SG. Thought this was interesting...in the Rookie Showcase I'm on the Elite Team and which is all UNC guys. I'm at SG, Marshall at PG, Barnes at SF, Henson at PF, and Zeller at C.

Look at it this way. Even if you play 12 minute quarters the first 10-15 games or so you won't be getting a lot of minutes if it's anything like 2K12 and 2K11. It usually takes me 15-20 games just to get to where I'm playing 25 minutes a game. By the time you're playing 30+ minutes per game, you've "only" got 60ish games or so left in the season.

I don't know. Anyway, I'm just a few minutes into the Rookie Showcase game and you get +2 VC for things like a made bucket, assists, rebounds, etc. which I'm guessing you don't get if you sim the game, so it's definitely worth playing the games.

Well.... I did up it to 8 minute quarters and the payoff has been great. I end up averaging 10-15 minutes actually played compared to 5 or 6 before. So I've been dropping some much better games. My last game for example was 23 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals vs the Lakers as a 6'4 scoring PG.

Just went for 28-6-5-1 on 12/18 FG and 4/6 3P in the Rookie Showcase game and we won by 20 points, and my teammate grade was still only a 'C'. Won my position battle by a comfortable margin, too.

What difficulty will you play on?

Guess I'll start on Pro or All-Star on Simulation game style/sliders. Forgot to change it before I started so the Rookie Showcase was on Pro Default. Been playing quick play games on Pro/Sim and they've been fairly competitive, so I'll go with that to start.

Started a 6'10" back to the basket PF. Didn't have a great showcase (6 pts 9 rebounds?) but got drafted 14 to the Bucks. Not the worst case scenario but trying to beat out Ilysova won't be ideal.

Also, I seem to be using Skill Points, not VC? Anyone know why?

EDIT: Ah, apparently it doesn't count if you're not online. I'm on wired internet so I have to split the time using the cable on my laptop and 360.

So since I started playing every game not much has changed besides what commentators say. I just got traded to the Heat because I was on the Pistons loving it until they started playing me a lot with another scoring PG (Kemba Walker) who was a ballhog dickhead.

I went to GM and told them Kemba is in my way and needs to be traded and the GM said "That's not in the teams best interest, not going to happen". I said fine trade me.. and ended up on the Heat which isn't bad considering I'm a 6'4 PG who can bomb 3's and do a little of everything. Win titles as the 3rd option and future of the next Heat era.

Made my new player. 6'8, 240 lbs athletic small forward.

Played horribly in Rookie Showcase. Not by design, but it was real tough with this player. I'm used to playing with 3 point shooters, or scorers. Guy was slow, could just about hit midrange, struggled to keep with Kidd-Gilchrist when I had to guard him. It'll be easier when I get used to this kind of player and improve stats etc, but I was ass, plain and simple. Finished 3/3/4 I think, brutal.

Pre-draft interviews were with Indiana, Memphis and OKC. Snubbed all three, none of them are good fits for me. Too much talent already. About to do the draft, who knows where I'll end up. Think I might slip into 2nd round it went that badly. :lol

made a 3pt shooting small forward.

the dumb asses at 2k must have spent all their time doing stupid cosmetic shit for too long because this mode is still extraordinarily broken.

the grade system is entirely flawed. i just won the showcase, i scored 28 point on over 60% 3 point and 50% shooting. considering i was the leading scorer in the game on ridiculous efficiency i feel as though this should instantly bump my grade up at the end of the game. how have they not thought of something like this? in the end my teammate grade was a C+ because you get no credit for doing things properly throughout an entire game yet tiny mistakes screw you over.

oh, i was also player of the game. that could improve my grade alongside the fact i led scoring and my eff. was beyond amazing. every time you go on a hot streak or score, lets say, 3 straight 3's, your grade should massively boost up. every time you transition on defense and contest a shot, your grade should show up. detection for shot contention has been broken since the inception of my player and it seems as though this is unfixable.

every possession the person you're guarding doesn't score, you should get a small point increase. if you're constantly active on offense for a possession, even if you don't get a pass, you should get a point increase.

i have to go but i'd like to ramble more later.

Eh, I find it the opposite. My typical game 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists off the bench right now.

All I do is set picks every time, throw it up the floor to a wing (seriously, CPU Bradley makes DWade looks like Jerryd Bayless) after the inbounds, make easy passes in the halfcourt, and attempt to play some defense. I end up with at least a B every game, depending on how I do on defense. The only time I ever attempt to score is if the defender sags off my guy in that 18 foot area or if I have a fast break dunk.

I think the most points I've scored in a My Player game right now is like 12.

Although my PT still sucks. And Rondo is injured too...

Maniak
10-05-2012, 04:29 PM
i think that you should get boosts in rating for wins, total points, percentage by game/quarter, things of that nature.

like unless i was literally never trying at all on defense i can understand why my rating would be low but im the player of the game in a win and my 3pt is almost 70. i think i hit somewhere between six and eight threes, three of which were back to back to back in the first possessions.

Can't seem to settle on a player I like. Well, more the team. Got my 6'3 SG, 3 point specialist drafted to the Suns, but the first game was ridiculous. Got plenty of minutes, but found myself playing SG, SF, PF and even C for a small stretch. Guarding Bogut and Landry? C'mon 2K. I remember the stupid matchups back in 2K10, but surely shouldn't be having this problem again. Although this has only happened with Phoenix. Tried a couple of other teams and had no weird matchups.

Started one as a center since I've been posting up with my PG and enjoyed it.

Drafted 10th to the Hornets. Would be awesome if Davis was playing his natural position.

Anyway, I hate Rivers. So much. Even in this video game the guy is a ballhog master. Third quarter running down in the second game of the season, 4 on 2 fastbreak, 5 seconds left, and what does he do? Shoots an off-balanced 3pter from 2 feet behind the arc. :lol

How much VC you getting per game?

I'm loving center with the smarter ai (particularly the cuts). So easy to pick up assists... Kind of want to develop my dude into a Sabonis clone right now.

Think I'm going to delete the PG one and make this center my primary. Four games into the season and my guy is already finishing games, moving Davis to PF.

Something I noticed is that they changed something with rebounding. I have a problem with jumping every time a shot goes up. Last few games, being 2k12, etc, I kept getting called for offensive and defensive goaltendings. Now your guy sort of pulls off at the rim which I like.

Is anyone else having troubles getting it to auto call plays?

Not tried, but I've not heard any problems about it from anyone else so far.

Just finished Rookie Showcase, finished 14-3-10 and an A- grade.

Easily my best showcase, so I thought I might get nearer top 5 of the draft, but was projected to go #11 to the Blazers which was disappointing. Hoped to get on the Kings, but not gonna happen.

Interviewed by Portland, Toronto and Houston. Was nice to all of them, they all had a need at the point. I don't like it being too unrealistic when an unknown rookie can come in and start over a Steve Nash, Chris Paul type after 10 games, so other than the Kings, I wouldn't mind being on any of these teams.

In the end, I got picked #8 by the Raptors. Not a team I'm particularly fond of, but a team I can definitely make my own and be the man. Portland can kiss my arse too, picked Lillard over me. I'll torch him when we play them, like I did in the showcase.

I've chopped and changed around a lot, but this is the player I want to stick with.

Raptors are so soft. Valanciunas and Bargnani got dominated by Reggie Evans. John Lucas and Kyle Lowry hate me and never pass the ball. Only played PG for 2 minutes in 2 games, rest of the time I have to play SG and guard the likes of Joe Johnson and Marshon Brooks, which right now is tough with a 6'3 PG. Landry Fields can't hit an open shot (realistic though), and Derozan is our only bright spot aside from what I can manage in limited minutes.

Did the PG. 6" score first PG. Had 10-1-10-1 in the rookie showcase. Wanted to go either Sixers, Lakers or Hornets. PnR with Davis was awesome in rookie showcase. But he missed two wide open dunks when he was tired.

Sixers, Mavs and Nuggets interviewed me. Gave favourable answers to all of them in the order of Sixers > Mavs > Nuggets and ended up on the Sixers. Had a 4-0 records, but I'm getting little time on the team and half my minutes as a SG. Holiday freezes me out of the game everytime I'm SG. How do you do the training camp?

Game Modes -> Practice -> UnderArmour Training Camp

It's like 7 or 8 sets of moves you can do very quickly and then a little game after every single one where you have to reach a certain point amount.

So I have two MyCareer's right now. One is a Scoring PG with the Mavericks where I've played 3 games, averaging 12/6. And then I started today an Atheltic PG that got drafted by the Raptors and have yet to play a game with him. I played some Online games and got his midrange up to an 80, and his pass and layup up to a 90. Will try to earn 2,000-3,000 more VC and upgrade his defense, speed, and what not.

I think it's really shitty how they don't have drills give you attributes this year. Speed costs 500 for ONE point. I currently have 88 speed. So they expect me to spend 5,500 VC for this shit? :facepalm

Wouldn't exactly call it gamebreaking, but yeah it is a little frustrating having to play PF and sometimes C, and I have a 6'3 PG as well. Might take them a while, but they might eventually patch it so the positions aren't so 'random'. I remember this problem a few years ago back on either 2K10 or 2K11, and they patched it, so I don't know why the problem seems to be back again.

That's incredibly lame. Hopefully they change that, because I like to create players that fit the profile. The name and appearance of my 3 point shooter should not have to be the same as my defensive center. Huge mistake by 2K IMO.

Happened all the time for me when I was with the Suns. Started a new game with Toronto, and it's only happened once so far. But I always play SG instead of PG which is annoying enough for me already. Won't get extensive PG minutes until I become the starter I guess. That's the problem with having Lowry, Calderon and Lucas III to beat out.

You got MyCareer and MyPlayer. MyPlayer shows up on the front page. It's just face, etc. If you edit MyPlayer there's an option in the middle of it that let#s you create a new one.

Can anyone help me with the shooting motion? Can't get rid of the wrong timing.

Created a 6'6" all-around PG in hopes of being a Magic Johnson type. Also helps when they switch you to SG on defense. Dropped 19/3/10 in the showcase but 5 turnovers. Drafted #10 to Hornets which is great because their starting PG is only a 70 overall so hopefully starting soon. Plus can rack up assists to Gordon and grow with Davis.

I was a dickhead to the Bucks to make sure I didn't have to play behind Jennings/Ellis. Cocky SOB to the Blazers didn't draft me behind Lillard. And Rockets didn't get a chance to draft me.

Go to Options > Game Settings > Presentation, and there you'll be able to turn shot feedback on or off.

No, the problem is that when I do a jumper, dribble pull up or spot up, the release point is after the apex of the jump itself. So I have to release after falling down already. It's no fluid motion and I hate that. I'm wondering if it's about the animation of the shot(tried a few, bought CP3 - looks great on my PG, but didn't help), release(tried a few didn't change) or the stats as Mid-Close-3pt or Hops(don't know what it's called in english).

Fadeaways got the right timing though.

That save before the end of a game works like a charm for me.

I put PIP while I'm watching football and I end up with 3-4 k a half hour. Plus I saved it in a game where I get the ball with 7 seconds left and down one so I get to continue to replay for a game winning jumper. Fun stuff.

I also created, yet, another guy. This time a SF and I plan to make this my primary. Not going to play a game until I get a lot of VC.

Two things:

1) You can only have three My Careers/Associations total. At least ones which earn VC.
2) The load of the game from the disc boot to the menus is at least twice as fast as last years. Three times, even.

What's this coach mode "cheat"?

Just run a quick game, 12 minute quarters, doesn't matter what teams.

Just before tip-off, go to your menu, go to Coaching > Coach Settings > and then turn Coach Mode on. Then go do something else and let the game run by itself. That gives you around 400 VC, maybe a tad more, I never kept count. Run a few games while you're doing something else, that's some nice VC points coming in.

Make sure to keep checking the game every so often if you're not using a wired controller. If you are, then you don't need to do anything until the game ends.

I gotta echo a lot of BS I've seen in this thread. I also picked an athletic PG and got drafted by N.O. I was surprised to see Austin Rivers with me too, but i'm not complaining, he gets me a lot of assists. I'm also experiencing a lot of shifts at PF, pissing me off to lose points for not being able to guard DeJuan Blair and Pau Gasol. What's really pissing me off is Grievis Vasques starting over me and having to play from behind all time time because of him. Not to mention getting subbed out in the 4th with a lead and then blowing it at the end...and then having to answer questions about why we lost. Went to the GM about it, but don't want to **** my player over for complaining too much about it. Averaging 12 and 4 in pretty limited minutes.

Funny you mention that, after getting more and more pissed at my point guards, I switched to a slashing SF to see if it would be more enjoyable. Nope. I'm ****ing done with this shit, and I've only been playing it for a day. Not getting enough burn, getting dinged for dropped passes to teammates, having to play the 4 when i'm a 6'3" point guard, being the only player playing help defense and getting dinged for leaving my man open and letting him score because I was trying to prevent another player from scoring, teammates taking ridiculously stupid shots late in close games, losing teammate and fan support for answering questions strictly about the team like I'm a New England Patriot...I don't think I even listed half of the stuff that pisses me off. **** this, I'm sticking to Association mode.

We're not a bad little team right now. Think we're 7-4. Derozan is a monster, Bargnani is getting more productive with every game, and the more I play, the less Landry Fields does, which is only a good thing. Even Amir Johnson is going ham sometimes. We're still quite a soft team, so anytime we're against a strong frontcourt we struggle or the game is close, but we're also playing some really nice ball at times. Still not a starter yet but it'll happen very soon. Unfortunately that will mean having to play with Fields more again as I'm a PG, but spend most of the time at SG.

12 minute quarters? That takes too long to finish a season imo. I've only played 5 minute quarters with the exception of the rookie showcase.

I accidentally made Rondo play more minutes because of the GM topics. One of them is "I like playing with a certain player" and I of course chose my point guard. What I didn't know was that I was inserted into the starting lineup and whoever I chose got more minutes. Bass had his minutes severely cut down to 11 mpg. :lol I'm waiting to get that topic again so I can restore some of Bass' playing time

I find the guards of the Celtics too aggressive compared to their real life versions. Bradley shoots any midrange opportunity he gets, even if contested. Rondo is also very me first in a good way.

All the AI players are set way too aggressive. Every player tries to get into the paint come hell or high water leading to alot of very unrealistic looking offence and very unrealistic team stats. Take a look at the points in the paint in the games you play, it's rather ridiculous.
Playing on the Pacers, Granger and George flat refuse to shoot open threes, they just drive into a congested lane. Which bings me to another point. The supposed better AI where players won't stand near you has totally broke offence. It forces player into the low block on both sides of the key at all times making it impossible to find driving lanes.

You should only play quarters as long as it takes to get a good grade and some decent stats. I start with 12 min q's, drop to 9 min q's once I'm 6th man, and drop to 6 min q's once I'm starting.

I like 6 min q's because I can get an easy estimate of what the stats would be in full games, by just doubling the stats. So if I end up with like 15/8/3, it's really like 30/15/5.

I can't do that, has to be 12min quarters, otherwise the mpg stats are off and I can't deal with that
I'm a stats junkie(used to memorize every player in the leagues stats as a kid), everything has to be realistic or I can't play the game.

Yeah, there's a huge dropoff from HoF to All-Star. I decided to give MyCareer another shot and put it down to All-Star difficulty and it's so much more enjoyable. Got drafted 10th (I think?) to Portland, and just took the starting spot at point over Lillard. Used a bunch of VC I got from Association mode and bumped my 3pt rating up to 82 and gave him Harden's shot and release, which I'm automatic with. Averaging 14, 6, and 3 on 54% 3pt shooting lol. 6 minutes per game, and we're on a 7 game winning streak. Also, LaMarcus Aldridge is a ****ing beast. 27 and 12 a game.

6'11, 245, all around. Load up rookie game, and my weight has dropped to 230 miraculously. Despite my last name being 'Hood', Harlan continually refers to me as 'McRoberts'.

Get 20/10... but playing with this guy is literally 2-3 times harder than my PG. Get pushed around, get fatigued, get outrebounded despite boxing out, miss shots, get blocked, assists are hard, blocks are hard, steals near impossible. :(

So I be an idiot in the interviews, and go 17 to Dallas, I'm actually happy with that. I'll back up Dirk/Kaman for a bit and eventually start at the 5 within 10 games or so. :D

First game is against the Lakers, given how hard it is I go 12 min and All star instead of HOF.
I come on with 4 mins left in the first. I proceed to play the entire rest of the game (40 mins) getting bent over every which way by Howard and Gasol, I end up with 22/10 on 30% shooting and A rating, and losing by 20.
I played 34 mins at 4 & 5, 4 mins at the 2 guarding Kobe (?) and 1 min at the 3.
I was basically zero fatigue most of the time.

Playing as a big man is much different than a guard. Your best bet is to be the defensive anchor and trashman early on until you develop a better post game or your offensive stats are high enough to be a bigger part of the offense. If you really want to score more, abuse the pick and roll if your pg is great at penetration.

As for being bullied, you just have to deal with it until you increase your strength and rebounding. Get better position and box out properly. Don't just hold the left trigger, react to the the guy's moves so that he doesn't flip positions with you.

Stamina is an issue with big men. I hardly use my turbo and I would get tired easily. I upped my stamina to early 70s and I can handle starter minutes pretty well.

I actually just played some games and I finally found flaws in, yes, the IQ of your teammates (oh that's new). Just imagine this:

Game is tied, last possession with 12 seconds left on the clock. Garnett is inbounding from the left side. You are a center with a poor free throw %, but you are wide open beyond the arc. Garnett proceeds to pass it to Rondo who is on the right low block and there are 4 people clearly blocking the passing lane. Immediate turnover.

Ya, that's realistic.:facepalm It's not just KG, Pierce did a similar thing. He passed to Rondo who was out of bounds for at least a good 5 seconds.

Along with that, 2K is still throwing that "2K karma" at me. Whenever I do something sick like an alley oop dunk or a block, the CPU will miraculously embarrass me in the next possession. Usually it come in the form of the ball sticking to the guy who missed/I just blocked and he scores an easy bunny right afterwards while I'm still stuck in animation.

To end this rant, has anyone experienced the brick wall skill or know of any OP skill? IMO, the former is cheapest skill to abuse in the game. Almost 2 guys become free on offense if the screen is successful.

Any backcourt like last year's Warriors gives any other team headaches. It's been a relatively unknown secret that Ellis and a score first pg will make a ridiculous % of their shots.

I've been playing my centre alot lately. Rebounding was hard until I raised stats and picked up the scrapper signature skill. Scoring in the post is crazy easy in this years game. I'm averaging 65% field goals, on games I actually play though it'd probably be about 80%, I've had numerous 100% fg games while dropping 20-30 points. I never seem to miss any shots under the basket unless I'm being stupid and taking jumpers or trying to drive. All i need to do is set screens then run under the ring or just stand under the ring calling for passes. I'm only 6"10 too and I hate to think how easy the offence will be when I'm higher rated aswell I'm only around 72 now.

i started a 'create a legend' with tristan thompson.

defensive rebounding, and shot blocking is pretty difficult. i play 6 min quarters, and i had a few games where i got killed on the glass, like the opposing big man had 5+ offensive rebounds. its just so tough to bump guys in the paint, and get a body on them.

guys are way too good at passing out of shots too, greg monroe was at the pea of a jump hook, that i would have blocked, but still managed to pass out of it.

scoring is relatively easy though. i got the 'brick wall' skill, so i just nail dudes with screens, and get a couple dunks a game. kyrie is a chucker though.

I've never been great at rebounding, but it's pretty rough this year. Guys can slip past you if you body them and positioning is really key. You can't just jump and hope to get it anymore.

I really think brick wall is too cheap. If someone runs into a guy with brick wall, the game momentarily becomes a 4 on 5. I remember Pierce, one of the stronger small forwards in the game, got laid out by a brick wall player. I mean, sure people can get absolutely destroyed by a hard screen, but the fact that it can happen quite often is a little ridiculous. The screening system is already flawed as players don't really fight through screens even if they are good defensive players.

We lost by one and I had the chance to win the game with a buzzer beater (double teamed though) and it rolls around the rim once and doesn't go in. I have closer level 2 so (which is must in my opinion - saving up to get level 3) which worked like a charm but teams defending is nothing short of average though, They gave Durant a wide open shot with 14 seconds left in the game to take the lead (and game)god damn it.

Scrapper helps with rebounding but if your boxing out you usually get the board anyway (or a team mate does). I'm yet to see someone get a board against me if i box out correctly.

My shooting guard got the starting spot for the grizz, dropped a 30pt game and a 22pt game. No large turn over numbers. Next game I'm back to 6th man and Tony Allens starting with horrible averages. I think it's a bug.

Yeah, I went to averaging the most minutes on my team to suddenly back as a 6th man. :confusedshrug:

Rebounding is easy, imo. Just get vert to 99 and jump at the ball, really.. Like the past few games. Boxing out helps I guess. It's easier to have the cpu box out and you weakside that shit.

The only problem I have with that is my guy having a tendency to hit the balls with his hands and not catch it cleanly. I do that like 5 times a game and you don't get credit for the rebound. Obviously... since it usually hits my guy's hands and then lands in cpu's. I think it's because I still have all the rebounding attributes in the 40s. His hands are in the 70s tho. Thought that would help.

I'm having trouble with dunking in this game.

6-10 SF. Dunk at 85. Shot inside at 90. Standing dunk maxed out at 75. Shoot in traffic maxed at 99 (does that help?). Vert maxed at 99. Stamina maxed at 95. Ball handling maxed at 95.

When the opponent full court presses, the cpu will make Bradley bring up the ball instead of Rondo. Bradley has terrible handles for a guard and every time he comes close to an 8 second backcourt violation. :facepalm He even got called for it once and he won't pass it to me when I call it because I'm a center. I got picked by the Bucks at 13, and Jennings/Ellis have the PG/SG on lockdown, Jennings got injured and they started Idroh over me..that's when I said **** this town, I told the GM they sucked, and I demanded a trade to Lakers (who were interested in me). What pi!ssed me off was when I was getting triple-teamed and my teammates just stood there... even when I asked for a pick and roll or anything just so I have a chance of breaking the triple team. I missed the game winning shot because I asked for a simple pick and roll and Cousins took 6 of the 7 seconds to understand what I was asking him too do, so I faded away whilst being double-teamed (surprising they didn't triple-team me on the last shot though). :banghead: :banghead:

Dropped 23/2/5 in the Rookie Showcase, with an A- grade. Went back and forth with Lillard all game (his teardrop floater is close to unguardable), and the game was real close. Hit the game winner just at the top of the key with Lillard all over me. Showcase or not, that felt goooooood.

Interviewed by New Orleans, Portland and Golden State. Portland or NO were good enough destinations for me. Didn't really want to play in Golden State and share minutes with Curry. Portland passed up on me with 6th pick (won't forget that...) and I got picked 10th by New Orleans.

Only 2 games in and already enjoying being on this team. With my other PG where I played in Toronto, the bulk of my minutes were spent at SG, but so far every second of playing time I've been at the point, so that's already a big plus. We won a close one against the Spurs in the opener. Had a tough game guarding Parker (finished 5/1/1...), but went HAM against Utah in the second game, and pretty much sent Jamaal Tinsley into retirement after making him fall twice. Finished 21/2/5 in limited minutes.

Got frustrated and requested a trade and since the Warriors were interested in me I picked them and got traded. Now I play pretty much constantly at SG with Stephen Curry at PG and Jack as the 6th man (who is a massive ball hog).

The AI of your teammates are really frustrating. Guys pass into crowds like crazy. They don't even recognize the situation. If your team is down by 3 and it's the last possession, they won't go for a 3. :facepalm

The fact that my player isn't capable of creating plays makes it harder to win games because I can't take over a game.

I created a 6'7", 205 lb 3-pt specialist PG with the nickname "Money."
I used a shitload of VC right off the bat to make the player incredible. I got an A- in the Rookie Showcase, got drafted 10th by the Hornets, and even after back-to-back-to-back 25+/5+/7+ games, I'm still coming off the bench, playing 20-25 min/game. Wack.
I wanted to restart with a C, see if I can make the most dominant C ever, but I actually bought 10k VC for $2.99 to start this player off the right way. :oldlol: Since I invested real money in him, I want to make the best of the situation.
Some might say it's weak for me to buy the VC instead of playing for it, but I don't have time like that.

I played like 20 games as a Starter, Won Rookie of the Year. Had like 2 Player of the Month award after my trade to the Lakers, 3-4 Player of the Week.

Now I'm in the Playoffs, we just swept the Trailblazers where I got 36pts, 53 pts, 19 pts (simmed..was actually doing super well, then power went off so I just simmed it), then finished it off with 58 pts to sweep.

It's funny cause at the beginning teams would sag off me on 3s, but I started putting some points in the 3s so I can actually hit if I'm super open now, so I went 6/6 from threes, finished with 6/9 from 3s in that game.

I dropped 30 points in 1 game, 45 in the next & 36 in the next one with at least 5+ assists in all 3 games. Still no starting spot. I even discussed it with the GM, but nothing has come of it.
I'm averaging 22 PPG & 6 APG off the bench! IRL, the dude would be a starter by now.

I'm in my 5th season as PG (athletic) for the Kings. I got drafted by Mavs, got starting spot later in 2nd season as I was playing only key games most of the time. They didn't want to offer me new contract which is ok, because they suck :lol
Out of the teams interested I picked the Kings because they had weakest PG (Jack) and I got the starting spot pretty soon. Team was doing pretty good and in the meantime I upgraded my player by much, especially 3pt shooting. Cousins and Tyreke are beasts, Robinson is pretty good, they drafted some SF guy who's athletic as ****, dunks everything and also had Carter and Allen off the bench. Lost 4-3 to OKC in WCF, when Durant goes crazy ain't no stopping him...
Next year my player is finally respectable in all aspects of the game, yet I **** up and press play next key game while close to playoffs and end up playing 4th game against the Lakers (they led 3-0) and losing 4-2 in the first round.
Now in my 5th season I'm playing most of games, not only key ones and averaging 26/7 on 50%+ FG and 3pt. My rebounding is pathetic because Cousins and Robinson get every ball. Best record in the league halfway through the season and I'm leading candidate for MVP.

Today I decided to break some records and made quarters 12 mins. We played against Raps and I scored 79 points 22-46 from 3pt, after the game I get twitter message form David Robinson and it says something about me scoring 72. I checked the game boxscore and it really says 72 on 15-31 from 3pt, game score was 126-110 and calculated player points are 119 (obviously 7 of my points are missing). Something like that happened to anyone?

I don't wanna win the MVP in my rookie year. I was gonna play key games only but there's a glitch that will send me to the bench again. Should I key game it?

I just created an offline My Career on a different user. Tyler Clark, an SG drafted 9th by Detroit. Tyler Clark was also the name of my first My Player in 2K12 when the rookies were not yet in the game. Currently on my 2nd season and gonna try to finish the second half of the season as a starter so I can just explode on my 3rd season. Reboundings the one hard thing to do in this game. Need to box out and need to time it right. I find that it's much easier getting boards as a shorter player then a big guy. Also getting some of the signature skills like scrapper helps abit and i put points into hands.

So I wanna have a realistic overall season and I'm planning to restart my My Career. I'm still gonna get drafted 10th but I'm gonna waive Austin Rivers.

I'm planning on playing 1 or 2 rivalry key games before I try to get to the starting lineup and just play key games as a starter. I won't score and dish dimes as often as I normally do to average around 15 ppg 8 asp. I also don't wanna win the ROY award because I want the Brow to get it. In my second season now, I'm averaging 28 ppg, 3 rpg, 9.5 apg, 2.5 spg & shooting over 60% from the field. I usually play 6 min quarters. All of my shot ratings are 99, except 3-pters, which are at 90.

I think 2K could make MyCareer better by not only making it more realistic in terms of getting stats, but also by allowing us to sim one game at a time. Sometimes I don't want to skip a whole bunch of games to play the next Key Game.
I think it's retarded that your only options for playing in the MyCareer mode is to either play the next game or play the next key game. Sometimes Key Games are separated by 5+ games in between, if not more than 10 at times!

You have to play them. If stats don't matter, just do 5 min quarters. If stats REALLY don't matter to you, just keep fouling in every game & you'll get put in the bench without having to play the entire game, albeit with terrible teammate grades.

I get 3 key games in a row, put up 51 pts, 53 pts, 44pts (a triple double with rebounds and assists) playing the games, I then get simmed for 6 games till my next key game and in those games I have horrible stats, 2 points on 1-9 shootings, 5 points, barely any assists. Even with the sluggish animations in the paint from time to time it's really easy to be efficient with a back to the basket center. Once you add a mid-range game and can knock down a turn around over a guy your scoring output should be automatic.

I feel like Tim Duncan out there with the efficiency. And this bleeds into the regular games too. If you have a good post player you should run the offense through them. I have found it rare that people online or otherwise really know what to do to stop you if you can work the post moves. They usually start trying to crowd them with another player and that's when you move it to find an open three.

I'm a quarter of the way through my season averaging 31ppg 8apg, 3 rpg and 3 spg as a scoring PG and want a "star" role contract, although Memphis doesn't seem to want to give it to me yet. I think their best offer was 4yr/612 VC. Loving the team after being traded from Miami, we had the #2 pick in the last draft and got a SF with the same height/weight/dunk/vertical as LeBron, he's killing it off the bench. It didn't happen as much before but after the ASG all other opposing center have been grabbing all offensive rebounds and my rebounding avg dropped from like 15 to like 10 because of this cheese. It's like they just slip your box out all the time and proceed to get the offensive rebound regardless of the fact that I'm 7'2 and boxed them out... its getting to the point where 9 out of the 10 rebound they have is offensive.

Me Manu Leonard Johnson and Blair make up the starting lineup.

I really don't wanna ask for a trade myself since I was drafted by the Sixers and asked to be traded out so I could be a starting PG (that gm screwed me over with the Spurs trade), and since its only my 2nd year I wanna play a full year with just one team.

I thought my 45.3 ppg is cheese. :lebroncry:

Jesus Christ, what difficulty/quarter length are you guys playing on?

My Memphis team is in 3rd in the West with about 22 games to go. My scoring point guard is averaging 31/7/4/2 on 56/46/86 shooting (7 min quarters) and I just dropped 70 on Wade on 28-40 shooting (7-13 from 3).

Started my second season, 5 games in I'm averaging, 132.3 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 7.8 apg.

:oldlol:

Oh yea, I play 8/9 min quarters on Hall of Fame. My career high is 184 points, LMAO.

I shot 83 FG%, 76% from 3. So yea, all of them were defensive, I think I averaged 0.3 offensive rebounds. :oldlol:

how is it possible to shoot 76% from 3. I have played with multiple players that are 99 for 3pt and maxed out on everything else with sig skills and i can barely avg 60% for a season on wide open shots. Another question is if your playing on 8/9 min qtrs, you would max get around like 26 minutes of action cause your blowing your opponents out so im confused to how is this even possible even if you jack up a 3 every trip down.

Does everyone (Doris Burke, other announcers, postgame interview, social media) freak out after you drop 100? Always wanted to see what happens, but I haven't been able to get that high. Scored 70 on Miami and 66 on OKC recently, but can't get any higher than that.

My guy is 99 in pretty much everything including my 3pt, if you have Carmelo's release, you can easily make 20 three's in a row. :oldlol:

Even if we're up by like 70+ points the coach still leaves me on the court for some season, while all the other starters are on the bench.

Nah, I thought they would make a big deal about it too, they just tell you that you broke the NBA record in points in the post game interview and how you feel about it, which is kinda lame.

Can someone explain to me how a team with Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol in the starting lineup can be last in the NBA in rebounding and offensive rebounding? Getting destroyed on the boards.

I'm a starting pg for craptors, and just won a championship LOL.

I averaged 50 pts per game at 73% fg

Shit is too easy once you max out all the attributes.

I hate how if you don't sign an extension with your team in your contract year, in the off-season you can't sign with them again. :facepalm

I was on the Lakers, didn't sign an extension because I wanted to see what kind of offers I'd get, and in the off-season I ended up getting offers from teams like the Phoenix Suns with Chris Bosh, Sacramento Kings with Kobe & DeMarcus Cousins, Utah with practically the same line-up they have today except Chandler Parsons on the roster, and the Clippers without CP3. I ended up signing with Utah, but I wanted to stick with the Lakers. I don't know if I should ask for a trade because the Lakers now suck. Kobe (obviously as mentioned above) left for the Kings & even though we had Carmelo Anthony in my last season with the Lakers, he's not on the roster any more. :confusedshrug:

I couldn't sign an extension because if I do, my system will crash. I waited for the offseason and got an offer from my team, the Blazers.

I asked for a trade to either the Knicks, Nets, or the Heat. And I get traded to the Timberwolves. :oldlol:

I also changed my jumpshot from Melo's to Lebron's and I went 45-53 from 3.
