Yeah he looked like he was in pretty good shape last season. Supposedly he got up over 290 and is down to 240 something. Hopefully he weighs enough now.

Dropping 50 pounds that fast is not healthy, could lead to heart problems. I doubt it was 50 pounds. Being in shape will help him some, but will he be a better basketball player?

dont act like u know anything about fitness.

and for the life of me i cant understand why trainers that have no business training athletes do it anyway. r u fuuking kidding me? that first exercise is worthless! completely. it does absolutely nothing. and kettlebells are for the mentally retarded

Kettlebells are used by elite athletes world over.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you don't know what you are talking about.
Why u mad?
Its just a kettlebell bro.
I have personally found them to be very effective.
They are used by every professional football club in Australia.
MMA fighters use them.
NBA players of elite fitness use them.

Whats you problem with a kettlebell, drop one on your foot? They are a proven effective training exercise.

Sad part is his trainer's probably like 6'2 lol.

Good for Utah. Dude looks like he's been putting in work and I hope he has a good healthy season.

This dosen't make anyone better at bball though :facepalm

I look like that from pull ups crunches and push ups once a day and it never helped my game out in any sport trust me.

kanter can rebound and be tall but he has no feel for O and getting cut in the offseason won't help that

well my 6 pack is not that defined but i put a lot of work in on body weight exercises and they are by far the best ways to gain lean muscle.

I actually like Kanter though and he def has potential on O and D. his rebounding is already looking excellent.

also, there's no way he dropped 50 lbs cause that's a HUGE amount of weight. It's actually very unhealthy to lose that much weight that quickly

Extra strength, athleticism and increased fitness doesnt help bball?
I thought he showed some pretty good signs last season with his skills.

i'm just saying that nobody earns a starting spot by slimming down. obviously fitness and athleticism helps but the problems with kanter had nothing to do with strength and conditioning. There's a lot of guys in the league who could really use 15lbs of muscle (steph curry, anthony davis etc etc....) but kanter is definetly not a guy who's problems stem from his body. And i know he showed he had skills. not denying that

This. Just his improved cardio alone will help with stamina and effort in game..
Hopefully he's been working on his shot also, as anyone that trains a lot will tell you, it fu*ks with your shot:oldlol:
It's not worth arguing with guys on here about anything gym related, most have never lifted a weight in there lives. Just look at the morons in the Anthony Davis steroid thread :lol :lol

Hopefully he's improved his vertical quickness. He had some borderline embarrassing moments last season.

He lost 50 pounds cause he put on a bunch of weight from eating nothing but crap in the off-season.

"First my breakfast: I was eating like six eggs, omelet with six eggs; seven or eight pancakes, with sugar, whipped cream, everything; then a breakfast burrito. That was just my breakfast. Then I came to practice and my lunch was just like pasta, chicken alfredo or whatever, and then a burger and an appetizer. Dessert? No. Dessert was at dinnertime. Dinnertime I ate another burger, a big meal again and a dessert."

So if I need some lean muscle (or at this point, any muscle), what should I do?

One of the biggest things to do is to do cardio along with strength training.
