It's only a pre-season game, but he certainly looks like he belongs.

Yup, he really played well. He was bullying Amir Johnson in the post and worked well on the lob attempts.

Didn't play a lot of minutes in tonight's game (which sucks, because I want to see more of him and Jonas going 1 on 1 for a while), but I expect him to probably start sometime this season.

he was risky though, and its not hard to understand why a lot of teams did. But i hope he turns out to be a beast for the D. When's the next game?

if everything falls into place... monroe and drummond may beat the tandem of wallace/wallace ;)

definitely a very good first exposure. he and bynum already have a good raport and he doesnt seem nearly as raw as he did in the conn games I watched last year. Sure, hes got a long way to go to be a solid nightly contributor on a good team, but I was very pleased with the effort of the entire 2nd unit in game 1. He hardly played in game 2, and Krastov also looked like a potential rotation big, but not with the same tantalizing upside. mmmn, upside

definitely thought that his game fit the nba way more than college. he could be another one of those guys

I defenitely like the fact that he was using his body to position for rebounds that in college he would have just tried to outjump his opponent. He showed that he is quicker on his feet than I thought. I am looking forward to seeing him with monroe and the first unit.

He's big, he's strong, he's coordinated, he's got good timing, he's got soft hands, he's a great leaper, he's explosive, he got good instincts, he sees plays develop, he's super athletic, he likes to play big, and he's active. He's going to be a true monster. Top four center in his fourth year if he goes to Hakeem camp.

He's obviously going to be bigger than Dwight, his leaping ability is more explosive, his offensive instincts are also better. He's not as intensively active as DH, or as quick or as intuned to rebounding and defense but some of that he can learn. He's nowhere near Dwight now or even DMC, but his potential is for playing big is great. Centers are the hardest to call because they seem to take awhile to develop - DMC is very rare.

He should get 20+ppg and 10+rpg this season. No. I'm not impressed. It was a practice game with no defense. It's way too soon to say if he's going to be great or not. He still looks raw and once people start to really play it won't be that easy. If he puts in the hard work he can become a good player.

What was the risk in taking the best player in the draft? His free throw percentage? How many centers shoot free throws well?

Rooting for him big time. Seems like a great guy and also it makes for a good story that this guy was projected top 3 for so long then fell to 9 or w/e because of people questioning his drive and work ethic. Looks very fluid. His lob catching reminds me of Aldridge where he's just really smart at positioning and timing on the easy lob catches.

Not even close IMO. Drummond is a more intelligent player and has much more offensive potential IMO. Unlike Jordan he has great hands and seems to know where to be on the court (good instincts).

Man, my Raps should have drafted this guy. Scary athleticism, plus he seems to have good offensive awareness, and a soft touch around the basket.

Monroe/Drummond is going to be scary. I figure they'll play Monre at 4 whenever they play together. There's no way they'll be able to keep Drummond off the court.

Anyway, Drummond's definitely got some beast potential. I wanna see him go up against Hibbert. Size wise Hibbert'll be one of the few guys that has an advantage and he's obviously much more seasoned, the whole pro's pro deal. Could see both of them embarrassing the other at times really, that's gonna be a fun matchup.

impressed. showed he had soft hands and he was also very decisive when he got the ball. he also showed some drive by doing multiple jumps for a rebound.

Also thats why when drafting talent >> anything else really. Scouts said no to guys like Drummond and Cousins's for some weird reasons.

I'm going to wait until he plays against a legit front court before I make any judgment.

Otherwise, I've been rooting for the guy ever since the Blazers acquired New Jersey's pick (trololol). If he maintains form, it may be a battle between him and Lillard.

Just watching Drummond in preseason...he has the potential to be a VERY good defensive player, especially on pick and roll and shot blocking.

i know its from the pistons official YT channel, and it was made, to make him look good, but the maturity he shows in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9zoZwgZ4Ek&feature=relmfu), was impressive

I haven't been this excited for the Pistons in a long time.

Everything is just falling together thanks to the draft.

Drummond obviously is going to be an exciting player to have and he fits pefectly next to Greg Monroe.

But then you have another rookie that hasn't been talked about much in Slava Kravstov who is a defensive minded big-man that could end up being a very very good player.

I'm really hoping Knight has a good season. I think if he does, it will make it that much more easier for Rodney Stuckey to produce as well.

These last few drafts have been very good for the Pistons.

He's like a more athletic, smaller version of Bynum

If TWill can get his game together i will like this Detroit team alot. Looking forward to them running a Knight/TWill/Middleton/Monroe/Drummond lineup

This past Saturday Andre Drummond dropped 8 points and 7 rebounds in just 15 minutes of play. He had a pretty normal left putback dunk and also place Bismack Biyombo on a poster with a mostly non-contact tomahawk jam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWAQTS5P89E

He also had a nice lob against Miami: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p97JEyETOPs

How the hell did 8 teams pass on a 6,11 center who looks this ridiculously strong and quick :lol

It really does look like the sky is the limit for this kid. He obviously has some learning and adjusting to do, but he has done well in the preseason so far. He looks like he can be a beast on the defensive end of the court. He needs to polish up his offensive game, but he'll get his fair share of lob dunks. Hopefully he can work his way into the starting lineup. It'll probably take a while for it to happen but if he plays well I could see it happening by mid-season.

Beyond me, if you go back to the draft threads I was saying he should go anywhere from second from what I had seen.

It may actually help his game out a bit since he slid down in the draft. He doesn't have the pressure of being a top pick and it hopefully gave him a bit of a chip on his shoulder to prove that he should have been drafted higher. If he would have went 2 or 3 he would have had the pressure to start and produce right away. In Detroit he doesn't have that. He has time to get better and ease his way into things.

Simply for the sake of information, in 17.5 minutes per game this preseason, Andre Drummond is averaging 9.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. None too shabby. Of course, the flip side is he's averaging 2.8 fouls in those 17 minutes as well.
