Very tough decision between Bob Lanier, Robert Parish and Artis Gilmore.

I'm taking Artis Gilmore here though:

- 11 x ABA/NBA All-Star
- 5 x All-ABA 1st Team
- ABA champion
- Led the NBA in FG% for 4 consecutive seasons (all over .625)

From 2001-2007 Tracy Mcgrady scored no less than 24.6 points per game.

During the same time his playoffs averages were:

33.8
30.8
31.7
30.7
25.3
27.0

That being said i'll go with Tony Parker.

While writing i planned on voting for T-mac, then remembered Parker had 3 titles and 1 finals MVP. Also a great playoff performer in his own right on a very high shooting %.

These spots are interchangeable to me though, it could go either way.

Still giving my support for Artis Gilmore. Don't pooh-pooh on the man's ABA accomplishments. We all know that those numbers still count and they are impressive. Over his NBA career he averaged a double-double in eight seasons. Over 14 seasons in the NBA, Gilmore averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. He also had a phenomenal shooting % of .599 which is the best in NBA history. He made the NBA All-Star game six times. There is no question that he would’ve made the NBA All-Star during his five seasons in the ABA in which he played the best basketball of his career. That is the equivalent of 11 NBA All-Star games. To be a league MVP, All-Star MVP, and Playoff MVP, and make 11 all-star appearances, should get this man into the top 70.

Going to suggest Joe Dumars here.

Very similair to guys like Dennis Johnson and Dave Desbusschere just recently voted in. A guy who could be the best player on the court on both ends of the floor and who made notable contributions to some of the best teams of his era and of course won multiple championships in a major role.

Make my vote Robert Parish though since that's where the crowd is leaning.

Very tough spot.

Dave Bing, Bob Lanier, Robert Parish, Bernard King or Tracy McGrady.

I'll go with Bernard King here.

I would probably vote for Gilmore if we are also talking about ABA accomplishments, but since we are not my vote goes to Robert Parish.

2x All-NBA Team
9x All-Star
4x NBA Champion
Averaged a double-double for 10 seasons

Never an elite player, but he had crazy longevity. Parish also had Moses Malone's number, Moses hated going up against Parish.

Once again, Artis Gilmore.

Just because many of his accomplishments were in the ABA shouldn't penalize him. What kind of player he was should already have had him on the list awhile ago.

He is TOP 5 in basketball history in Career Shooting, Rebounding, and Blocks.

19.1, 10.4, and 62.3% shooting in the NBA at 35...better than Kareem's numbers at the same age...

He's not even better than Robert Parish or Bob Lanier.

And his ABA career isn't penalizing him, him not being able to maintain the same type of dominance is.

Maybe because his center comp went from Mel Daniels (who is the best ABA center, not A-Train) and Zelmo Beaty to Kareem, Moses, Lanier, Cowens, McAdoo, Walton, Parish, ect.

Oh I know, thought that I'd get that out of the way so I can make you stop thinking that you're insulting me in anyway or thinking you have an upperhand :oldlol: I mean cool, I have 3 accounts. You have 40. (and to the new posters on here, this isn't an exaggerated estimate) So what are we talking about here again?

This is my only account. Again you can PM the admin and screenshot his response verifying that I have the same IP Address as "rocketsgreatness" if you want. Good luck with that though.

Anyway Deuce Bigalow I would appreciate it if this guys 3 votes with different accounts only counted as one. I feel the integrity of the Rankings is in a dire state of jeopardy.

Since you have enough time to have three seperate accounts on a basketball forum, then I'm going to guess you have enough to send a two line PM to the admin of the site. Here I'll even help you out, all you have to do is copy and paste. "Hey bro, I was wondering if you could verify my suspicion that "MiamiThrice" and "rocketsgreatness" have the same IP Address. Thanks man take care" All you have to do is copy and paste it.

I look forward to the results of this reply. Make sure to come back in this thread and post it for all of us. :applause:

Vlade Divac for his impact on Euro players to the NBA alone. He should be considered....maybe late 80's 90's.

I like Vlade but do you think his impact was? Marciulionis and Drazen were significant NBA players as euros at around the same time. Schrempf, too, was becoming a notable player at that time, though of course he played college ball in the US. Kukoc, Radja, Sabonis and Smits (the latter again having played US college ball) became significant players not too long after.

I'm just not sure Vlade broke down that many doors, or was clearly the trailblazer though I'm willing to be proved wrong.
