Arguably the best big man in the game?
Did Dwight and K.Love die?
Miami
Boston
Indy
Then some mix of BK, NY, Philly and maybe Chicago.
I guess I just don't see what others see.
Bynum had a career season last year, played along Bryant and Gasol and they were only on pace for 52 wins. What will Bynum, Turner and Holiday get?
Who is their back-up PG?
Is Hawes a full time PF?
They lost their best player, passer and defender (Iggy), leading scorer and 6th man (L.Will), best interior player (Brand) and Meeks. All quality vets. I don't see anywhere near the leadership and veteran experience to carry this team on the court.
There aint no way on Earth you take Kevin Love over Bynum. Cut that shyt out.
Nick Young > Lou Will, how you cant see that? Beyond me.

I have the 76ers as my Eastern "bust" team. The losses of veteran leadership in Iggy and Brand, and scoring of Williams will be quickly missed. Plus first year of Bynum being "the man". Young teams rarely win and 76ers got a lot younger.
I would not be surprised if 76ers missed the playoffs.

Of course I do as do all the writers at ESPN and probably 90% of non-Philly fans.
Everyone craps on Amare about his knees, but he hasn't missed time because of them in years. Bynum misses about a quarter of a season on average from various ailments.
How many wins you see for them?

They're better than indy thats for sure
How on EARTH is Love better than Bynum? Get that nonsense out of here.
Of course nutty NYK fans would claim Sixers could miss playoffs. Hate much?
Lou Williams is better than Nick Young now? Once again since when? In spite? Smells like it.
Missing Iggy? Perimeter defense perhaps, but if D.Wright, Evan Turner can pressure the perimeter we can lessen the blow. What is significant is the big in the middle improving the halfcourt while the Sixers have upgraded its perimeter shooting in the process. Just simply logic given how deep this team is.
Wait nutty NYK fan claims Sixers could miss playoffs? I had to revisit that nonsense, what a moron. Want to wager $$$$ on that? Doubt it huh.
Sixers will miss the veteran prescence of Brand but you guys are getting all LIFETIME channel on me. It aint that serious as you make it out to be.
Holiday/Wayns
Richardson/Young
Turner/Wright
Hawes/Thad Young/L.Allen/Moultrie (athletic rookie who crashes boards)
Bynum/Kwaaaamay Brown
Team is ready to punch teams in the mouth. NYK play defense? Ok. BKN finish over the Sixers how? Because you look on paper and look down at the erection? Go f*ck yourself, literally pick a palm. Nets bench is poo poo. Then you gotta factor the chemistry between so many star caliber players. Same deal as NYK with adding so many "names". We saw how that worked, not.
Bynum health vs Brook Shields?
Bynum health vs reTarde Stoudemire? How many times did dude get injured come playoff time?
You can sit there and talk about healthy. You cant talk about anything bball related. Defense, rebounding, transition offense/defense, halfcourt offense you name it. Mum is the mofo word.
Sixers upgraded numerous areas. Only hit is a first team all defender in Iggy. Who steps up and lessen that loss? But remember we got a shotblocker in the paint whereas years prior? Not since Mutumbo. Half you kids were stil leaving shyt stains in drawers your mommy washed. Give me a break.
Kevin Love over Bynum? "espn said so"
What did espn say about the Sixers in relation to the East? Does it conflict with the crap you typed in here? Hmmm
chuckoakley, now that I think about it philly might finish fourth after Brooklyn but that's a toss up for me. Celts and NYK are def one and two in the division.

How are NYK over Sixers???? Your team struggled to get over them last season. What improvements were made because you lost golden boy Jeremy Lin. What? His impact was overrated huh? Kidd/Felton replaces Lin now huh? Shumpert healthy? Doh. Like come on you NYK clowns kill me. Joke of a franchise. Cant wait.
Only team I give respect too is Boston. Miami goes without question. BKN? NYK? Indy? FOH, and thats short for f*ck outta here.

They have a very solid team.
Turner is likely to play SG, and Richardson has to play off the bench. Wright seems the clear choice to start at the 3.
Hawes has got to be traded. He's a very solid player and centers are worth it. Plus, there is no way in hell that he's a PF.
Run the team thru Turner and Holiday. Let them set up Bynum. The team should be very good. Do not play thru Bynum. It's too early for that.

For the Sixers to be real good Bynum has to be healthy and his head on straight. It's definitely possible. But it's not certain. You talk like it's certain. If he's not the Sixers will be so-so and that doesn't seem possible to you.

Sixers may be 4th best in their division. The best division, but still...
I don't trust Bynum as a 1st option. Not even sure if I'd trust Holiday/Turner as 2nd options.
They'll be alright, may even reach 50. Need either more time, or more moves

Why would I talk up the possibility of Bynum being injured? What sense does that make?

Because it's logical? Because he's Bynum and has fragile knees that make him miss long portions of seasons? Because you demand it of other teams fans to acknowledge the downside?
:lol i laugh at you though, Miami worries me, Boston. Nets, NO. Lopez & JJ? Net fans will be talking about who they can trade them for by midseason. Sixers? Chandler will make Bynum invisible and we already know your offense is hilariously bad.

In the post-season, they have a chance to knock out the Celtics; they are a bad, bad match up for Boston.
But the Knicks match up well with Philly, and the Heat would undoubtedly win a series against them. So, as always, it will come down to who they actually meet come April and May in terms of their chances of advancing to the ECF.

I'm almost positive Bynum will be even more injuryprone than Brand was for the team and the move will ultimately be looked at as a bust.
Of course the Sixers made the right move either way. They maximized their potential as a team with Iguodala and they weren't going to get any better. If Bynum stays healthy he is a franchise player and one of the very best in the league. If he is hurt at least it gives the Sixers a good opportunity to rebuild again.
IF Bynum is 100% healthy this year the Sixers are the best team other than Miami and MAYBE Boston in the eastern conference. Would say thats not very likely though.
That's what I was saying. I do trust you, I want you to trust me.

No Nick Young is best at coming off a bench not starting. Evan Turner gives Sixers another ball handler, playmaker this team needs. Ship him off to start Young and you would be a terrible GM.

we need that perimeter scorer to compliment bynum and turner hasnt shown he can score in this league. I love him when he plays point for us and we use jrue at the off guard position , but if he is the 2g we have one of the worst scoring 2 g's in the league.
Idealy we package turner and everyone else and make a run for harden but that is a pipedream.

Nah I wouldnt want Hawes out there too much. He's no Bargnani, Ryan Anderson. But we'll see how this team plays with Bynum at Center. Evan Turner will come in handy when Jrue goes out and you have your mix of J-Rich, Young, Wright on the floor.
This is the year Evan needs to do something, so far I'm not impressed. But no way I want Nick Young starting. He's best at instant offense as opposed to starting. I'd prefer J-Rich to start over Young.

Jrue is a PG. Evan Turner is a SG. So no need for Turner to play PG and Holiday to play SG. Holiday is an all-around PG, while Turner is a playmaking 2guard.
Wright should start at the 3. Richardson shouldn't start unless Wright plays like crap.
And you guys have to trade Spencer Hawes. He's gotta be easily tradeable.

They need Bynum back otherwise they will quickly fall into lottery territory. The Sixers are a trigger happy team. When the going gets tough the Sixers will try to beat you with 3s. They have no inside game, rely on Young to have a good game off the bench with the second unit and have too much faith in Evan Turner. This team is probably where they should be. Fighting for the 8th spot. The only good player on that team worth keeping is Jrue Holiday. Build around Jrue and Bynum. All the other players suck. Maybe try to make a run for Rudy Gay and Josh Smith.

Nobody among the young guys has emerged as a leader, either on or off the floor. Doug's grasping at straws hoping the veteran presence will stabilize things, but I've never been a fan of Richardson. And yes, the absence of the big they counted on (why, I don't know) has been a big issue. Collins has been open about his plans to use Bynum and Hawes together.
It was inevitable, though I predicted it happening next year after a solid performance this season (which obviously hasn't happened). Collins is so relentlessly intense and such a strong X & O guy that he can make a roster look a lot better than it really is... until either the players start thinking the success was all them OR his grating ways start to fall on deaf ears. In this case, it appears to be happening before they've achieved anything. Sad.
ETA: I've known Collins for nearly 40 years and been a Sixers fan longer than that... and I can't believe ANYBODY would have wagered on this team winning 54 games this season.

First, let me say that I think The Sixers made a good move. It was a risk tho.
But you bring up veteran leadership...I think Holiday had taken some of that role. He brings accountability to the floor. But I do agree with you and I have to wonder why they amnestied Elton Brand. Just to use it? They weren't able to sign anyone they needed by doing that. They're still a little over the cap. His deal expired this season. After the year he had, defensively, he should have stayed with the team.
There is clearly a disconnect between the Sixers and Bynum. Hawes spent much of the year as a backup and clearly Collins wanted to keep his role consistent thru Bynum coming back. Lavoy Allen is obviously not a starter. Having Brand would have made a huge difference.

the whole franchise is a joke from top to bottom. the way doug threw everyone under the bus made me lose a ton of respect for him. HE is responsible for this mess the new owners go off what doug says tony dileo is a puppet of a gm and does what doug says. DOUG put this roster together now they're playing like shit he pulls the "it's not my fault" card. then he goes on to praise vucevic after the magic game. the same guy that he coached last year and as soon as nik would **** up he would be buried at the end of the bench for the rest of the game. It's so depressing that we could currently have a front court of cousins and vucevic instead we have the ballerina hawes and mr inconsistent evan "beaker" turner. i hope the sixers don't win another game this season. the only people worth keeping on the roster are holiday and thad, the rest including doug can go kick rocks.

If Bynum was Bynum of last year or close though, they seriously could've been a very dangerous team around him. Jrue is a legit all star, they've got fine perimeter pieces. Thadeus Young is good help for Andrew in the paint, and Spencer Hawes a solid backup.
Injuries just killed their season. It happens. 1 injury could end the Heat's, Thunder's, or anyone's season.
So I don't blame GOBB for coming into the year enthusiastic. I believe even Bynum the healthiest he could be, is not good enough to lead a title team, but is good enough to be the best big man in the league (that's maturity), but they could've had a great year.
As of now though, he seems done. He needs to just sit it out this year, and IF he can recover at all. Sign a 1 year deal, it's a good move.

6er fan here... Yes we flopped.. yes we suck.. Bynum not playing a single game is still blowing my mind. I figured he might miss some of the games, but not all.
the team is built around this guy. 6ers are just shooters, with no-one to anchor the whole scheme without Bynum. the weaknesses get exposed night after night, and there isnt a leader to keep the level of play as high as it should be. I dont know if the 76ers will move on from Bynum or not, but they need a guy (besides J rich) to lead in the lockerroom next year bynum or not. Andrew obviously isnt that guy, and Collins (while a good coach and influence on the players) cannot do it himself.

Deepest team in the NBA? Arguably best big man in the NBA? Man I feel sorry for you kids, adults, old folks. This Sixers team is going to punch teams right in their noses. Transition offense? Check. 3pt shooting? Check. Interior scoring? Check. Bench? Check. Defense? Check. Health is unchecked. Sixers are locked and loaded so I'm warning this board my ass you will kiss. Pucker up girls. :pimp:
