Also notable that in 1954 when filling in for Mikan during the Lakers postseason run he was as or more effective according to most accounts. Clyde was just a rookie that season.

Like Bill Laimbeer decades later, Lovellette was mean and dirty in the court, but don't let this fool you, he was skilled offensively, able to score in buckets in short periods of time. One of the best big shooters of his day (also, like Laimbeer).
