Pau puting up 23/13/6
Nash walking the ball up the court
Kobe shooting 79%
MWP with the Kiddesque 6/8/5/3 statline
Dwight having a 19/10 double double on 67%
The Lakers bench shooting 47% and having an 8:3 ast-to ratio
Having a 31 to 18 FT advantage.

all while playing against a Dirkless mavs team at home?

What do you expect when you run an offense designed to get Dwight free throws? It was like hack a Shaq but they cut out the middle man.

Nash walking the ball up everytime is a problem.

Great point. Kobe got zero FT attempts. They are not using this teams talents right. Pick n roll with Nash and Howard!!!

Stats seem fine except for FT's but for real.. the offense looked so lost and got nothing really going the whole game. Brown better do some actual real coaching.

If they did run that pick and roll Kibe would feel left out for a bit. Then in just pure shock at all the open looks he would get.

Yeah and a free throw stat I have NEVER seen in all my life.
They lost the game at the free throw line, it was like 30 something percent :facepalm

Only reason I even noticed this is because I'm in a fantasy league, but Kobe got NOTHING but points. I'm not sure what was up, he was working hard, but his stat line looks like he was in a solo practice.

Nash walking the ball up everytime is a problem.

He shouldn't have to play 34+ minutes on the front end of a back-to-back at his age.

Empty stats bring nothing though. They looked good in the first few minutes, but this offense they are running does nothing for anybody but Gasol. Kobe will get his shots to be sure, but Nash is being turned into Steve Kerr and that is a silly waste of talent. There are ways of using this team, what we saw last night wasn't it. On the flip side, I was impressed with Dallas and feel they will be dangerous when Kaman and Dirk get back. Glad to see Curry putting in effort even if he looks like he needs about 3000 more shots before he gets any kind of real offensive groove back to him.

JVG would be kinda cool. Dunno how he'd run it though. Prolly not anything like this offense though.

**** the lakers now yall want more help to win a title? yall so great, win with this shit now...I hope no quality players want to join the team, and no quality coach either....that team needs no more help.

Uh-oh, Mike Brown this, Mike Brown that.

Lebron in his last years with Cavs was supposed to win with Mike Brown as head coach and when he didn't I don't think any of you Lakers fans said a thing about Brown.

Not to mention having Howard, Nash and Gasol on your team (it's true that the last 2 players mentioned are old and past their prime, but it's still better than anything Lebron had in Cleveland)

Individually, this game proved how talented our players are.
But it takes chemistry and proper coaching to mesh talent together. Which is why at half-time, despite us shooting 55%, we were down by 2 points.

There are a lot of different elements that we must fix before we see what this team is truly capable off.

Overrated!

Old & slow with a weak bench.

Can't learn anything about the game from stats. They still need like 20 games to figure how to all play together.

I most certainly did't expect the Lakers to be a great team right away. 2 new starters, and like half of the regular rotation is new as well. They'll be fine once they have a month together imo. If after a month they are still not a good team then it is time to hit the panic button.

Pick and roll every time. Pick and roll every time.

What is with this garbage Princeton crap? Dwight is the best pick and roll finisher, and Nash is the best pick and roll initiator possibly ever! Why don't they run it!?

The Lakers should run, P&R, and then resort to the Princeton when all else fails.

If I remember correctly, he didn't receive a single FTA in previous season. I guess it was against the Hawks.

Also the Lakers will be very sorry for hiring Mike Brown. Especially when Rick Adelman was available.

yeah. they actually all laughed that Lebron failed with that team and with Mike Brown as coach :lol told all Lebron fanboys Lebron has no excuses, that Mike Brown can't be used an excuse. kept bringing up Mike Brown's COTY award :lol

what i definitely, distinctly remember was all Kobe fanboys vehemently arguing that that Cavs team was a championship team led by a very good coach. :lol

Bingo.

Pick and roll with Pau- Pau drifts out for the mid-range and Dwight dives. Kobe slashes/spots up. Instant options and points.

Pick and roll with Dwight? Dunks all night.

WTF. Get it done.

Defensively was the biggest issue..

TheFan
10-31-2012, 03:08 PM
offense was not the problem... they were shredding Dallas... Kobe missed what? 3 shots?

Problem = Defense + free throws... last night they were one of the worst teams at defending the perimeter ive ever witnessed.

Howard alone missed like 8 free throws...

few defensive stops + missed fts and there is the game... so give poor mike some rest... what he was supposed to do? jump in and make those fts for Howard?

Yep. That is the players. Been saying it all summer. Not sure about Nash on this team. I hope it works but Im really not sure.

Nash was fine, nobody blew up on him and he took a charge (his best defensive trait). It's the team defense that's lacking. You can just tell these guys haven't played together much yet. They don't know each other's rotation tendencies, so they don't know how to back each other up yet.

20-30 games in, they'll start looking a lot tighter.

defense?

No, FT's were the biggest issue int he game.

4/20 combined from Dwight and Hill. Those were basically turnovers.
