Are the most unbiased announcers I have ever heard, I actually enjoy listening to them because they don't have homer goggles on. Any other good announcers out there? The Heat/Celtics/Clipper announcers make me want to barf they are so biased.

Cavs and Suns are other bad ones that I've had to mute on streams. The Suns guys flat out talk trash and dispute every foul call (the couple times I heard them).

Agreed. They always try to give the opposition credit and Derek Harper is a very humble guy, always reflective and self-aware. Every now and then the homerism shines through on every team, but they are pretty good. I just wish Aldridge would stop going into Dirk/WCF-Goat mode every time he plays against the Mavs. :banghead: Some of those turnaround shots are just ridiculous. Too bad Portland got Lillard. Without him maybe the Mavs could have brought Aldridge home at some point.

Btw let me defend Ralph real quick because he shouldn't be grouped in with Mike Smith. Ralph is one of the greatest broadcasters in NBA history and is EXTREMELY respected around the league. I remember when I became a fan he was often considered the second best after Chick Hearn.

The problem is once the Clippers drafted Blake Griffin Mike Smith completely lost it and became the biggest homer in the history of sports and on air started saying RIDICULOUS things. Ralph constantly tells him "Calm down Mike" "Stop being a homer" etc and cracks jokes at his stupid comments so it's unfair to throw Ralph in there.

Of the court Ralph is amazing. He takes the time to talk to his fans quite a bit at games, on Facebook and on Twitter and is the longest tenured Broadcaster in the NBA by far. Dude is at like 36 years with the Clippers now and his loyalty and optimism has been an inspiration in the darkest times.

Bulls have the best by far. I remember finding the Sacremento announcers really really boring and lame. AND Memphis, those dudes were PAINFULLY LAME. memphis gets my vote for wackest announcers.

usually its just their home broadcasts that are a three man team.

the normal team is Mark Followill doing play by play, with Harper and Jeff "Skin" Wade.

Tonight play by play was Chuck Cooperstein who normally calls the game on the radio. Followill was in a bike accident and will be out for a bit.

Away games are mostly just Mark and Harper. Occasionally Wade will join them though.

As a Jazz fan, I don't really like Harpring. He's a pretty big homer sometimes. Worst to me are definitely the Celtics and Clippers. Lakers are probably the best. I like the Heat too. They're not unbiased, I just like listening to them.

Anyone thinks that the Lakers' announcers are good must need their heads checked; Stu Lantz is terrible, and just lives off reputation since Chick Hearn died. The only way I could stomach watching a Laker game is if they're on ABC or TNT.

I haven't heard enough of the Mavericks' announcers, so I can't comment there.
