Kobe or Durant?

Kobe with Dwight aint winning it. I had Paul, Durant LBJ as the early seasons candidates and think one of those three might take it out. Rondo is a outside chance if Boston has a stellar season.

Between Harden, Big Baby, and Mayo.

I say Big Baby if he leads his team to the playoffs. Even in the lowly East.

Durant, Melo, LeBron, Dwight, CP3

One of them.

LeBron or Durant

LeBron: 25-8-8 would be MVP with #1-#2 seeding

Durant would need like 30 PPG and 8 RPG with #1 seeding

Don't think LeBron will win it again...team is too stacked. Same for Kobe.

Durant will get a pity MVP this year. Rondo could sneak in though.

Might as well say Melo depending on the Knicks record. Or just about any star of any team "depending on their record."

I think that whoever wins it has to depend on the Nets record. So it would be luck and shouldn't really be counted when compared to past MVP players.

Lebron with Durant being the runner up again or they will give a pity MVP to Durant...

StateOfMind12

1. Kevin Durant
2. Chris Paul
3. Lebron James

is how I think the rankings will play out. The same top 3 as last year, just a different order.

Yes. Same deal as 2011. Context.

When you have 3 other legit 20 ppg scorers besides LeBron, and they are delivering so far ...

It might be tough for him to win it again.

Totally disagree, there's a clear and obvious '92 Jordan sentiment torwards Lebron right now. It would take a quite unusual circumstance for him not to win it.

A large part of why Lebron won it last year was because of how many games Wade missed and how Lebron stepped up when he was out. I'm not sure if Wade will have this injury problem again so I think Durant and CP3 both have a better chance of winning it this season.

Without James Harden Durant will get a few more shots and put up a few more stats. If they struggle to get a top 2 seeding though I doubt he gets it.

Kobe 26/6/6 on 47% Then listen to people say he's winning his 2nd lifetime achievement award.

The outrage and anger threads would be hilarious hahahahaha.

1. Lebron
2. CP3
3. Durant
4. Melo/Rondo
5. Dwight or Kobe (who's ever playing better, missed less games etc)

As long as Miami have a top 2-3 record Lebron likely wins it unless they get bored giving him the award.

Agreed. He is gonna put up the numbers every year to be MVP, the only thing that matters are the wins for him.

If LeBron keeps on "sleepwalking" through games like he apparently did against the Knicks, then he will not win and open the door for someone else.

I could see Lebron having a "relative" down season this year. He's played alot of basketball, especially in the last few years playing in 2 Finals and then the Olympics, his team is more stacked then they were before especially with Ray Allen who seems rejuvenated playing a lesser role, and Wade appears to be healthier. I could see him somewhat coasting this regular season to save energy for the playoffs, unless there's injuries to Wade or Bosh. I don't see him winning MVP otherwise. I could see Lebron's numbers going down to something like 24/8/5 on 53%.

Lebron..dude is beasting on the low while coasting. He's going for 25 pts 10 rbs 8 ast type year:eek:

Lebron is focusing more on passing and rebounding this year it seems.

LeBron.

25-9-5 on 53% shooting should do the trick. Scoring volume slighly down from last year, due to the additions of Ray and Rashard. But otherwise, he'll still post a fantastic season that no one else will compare to all around.

Wade will also finish top 5. It's going to be like 96 Jordan/Pippen.

If Kobe will not get this year MVP by carrying his scrub team with a clueless coach then it's obvious rigged..

chris paul, kevin durant or lebron james.

Another name to throw tony parker.

I think clippers, san antonio, okc , heat will be having best records in the league.

LeBron probably doesn't get it this year. He's been utterly sublime, but he can now let the game come to him. He truly is the best he's ever been, but it might end up looking too easy for an MVP win. I would say it's more likely going to be Durant, CP3 or wait for it... Carmelo Anthony.

Kobe has been pretty terrific thus far. We'll see how he does as the season progresses and, more importantly, when the team starts winning. Worst comes to worst, they will still be winning.

StateOfMind12

Right now the MVP is Chris Paul but I think when it's all said and done the race will be between Cp3 and Durant with Durant winning it.

Take LBJ out of the Heat and they will struggle even with Bosh and Wade. The way he carried them against us last night in the second half was majesic. He was the sole reasn why the Heat did not lose the game and lose by a big margin.
