New environment and lack of Dirk is helping him. He looked lost and unmotivated playing next to Rudy/Randolph/Conley the last couple years. The Mavs offense seems suited for him. Always been a fan.

Definitely looked awesome out there today. As people have mentioned, Dirk will take a lot of his shots when he returns. Collison is doing an awesome job getting Mayo the ball.

That's a really good starting 5. Collison is playing great at the moment as well.

I think Kaman is ideeeeeeal as the backup C...he's perfect. He and Brand always played great together...that's where I'd use him.

Yeah, considering with Dirk out he is averaging 14 FGAs. And that is in 33 minutes. Btw, Terry the last 7 years in Dallas averaged 13-14 shots a game.

All OJ has to do is be more valuable than Terry. Whether he puts up 30 a night doesn't mean crap to me.

Right now Mayo is playing with Collison like they were cousins that grew up together and that makes me hopeful that there is a chance he can be as dangerous as Dirk and Terry in the pick and roll late in games.

His defense and all around game are better than Terry already. The only question right now is how is he going to play off of Dirk in the pick and roll in late game situations. Time will tell.

Love watching these guys come in and thrive in the Carlise's flow offense. When Dirk comes back the spacing for the flow will be even better and the defensive rebounding (which frankly has been pretty terrible) will get considerably better.

Guys are gonna get their shots in this system. Everyone has a chance to contribute. Everyone has their hands on the ball and gets a chance to make a play on every possession. The players and the ball moves around in this offense. Everyone is part of the play. So it's not like the guys have to fight to get their touches. Since Carlise has been here that just hasn't been an issue.

I really like Carlise's system and I think OJ is going to be an upgrade over Terry. But we have to see it in action to be sure. And we have to see what happens in late game situations and 4th quarter. And hopefully we get to see how the execution works in the playoffs.
